I started this RUclips channel in the fall of 2020. What a great year to start. Anyway, I’ll share videos of fishing trips all over the East Coast but my primary locations will be Western PA and MD. I’ll fish from land, kayak and boat. I’ll use my spinning rods as well as fly. I’ll fish all different bodies of water, from the smallest stream to the deep blue sea. Sometimes I will trap bait and other days I’ll use artificial. I’ll post videos of tying fly patterns. My videos will improve with time. I’ll get equipment as I go.

This was my first time fishing Dunbar Creek. Really nice stream and I will definitely try to fish it again. Time of year was mid March. Every fish I hooked into was on a streamer. Location: Dunbar Creek is a 12.6 mile long stream located in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. It flows into the Youghiogheny River at Connellsville.

I fish same spot every year, but in a boat. caught some big greys last year right above there.

I remembered going to elk as a kid from northeast ohio looking for fishable water. We stopped by trout run and i was dumbfounded lol

Nice video ! Beautiful place it is. The other jetty (west) across the channel is way better fishing but longer walk . Even further west the pier isnt bad . You did go probably the busiest week of the summer..lol.. You go when you can go I understand that. Nov around Thanksgiving I believe you would have a much better fishing experience with barely anybody around. Its peaceful and the surf fishing is fantastic. Looking forward to your next video. Btw I'm from New Orleans and the fishing around here I'd say is one of the best in all the USA ! Check out Venice (Mississippi river outlet) if you have a boat or take a Charter. Limits of Bass , Trout & Reds practically in same area. Well worth a trip if your able!

Nice video, we stayed at Ft. Walton beach yers ago. Unfortunately there was a lot of June grass. Looked like green jello in the water. The beaches are beautiful for sure.

Wow, the amount of rocky substrate down there! IDK how representative the areas shown might be for the rest of the lake bottom, but it strikes me that there might even be too much of a good thing, preventing fish from concentrating in any one area?
Hard for me to say because we have only seen a fraction of the lake. I will say that when the lake drops in the fall, there is a concentration of bass not far from the bridge.

Are you staying on the water or just looking for spots to fish? Unfortunately DCL does not have much to offer from shore because so much is private. I’d say go do some walk and cast at the state park. That is the largest area you can cover by land. I have always caught fish on an ultra light setup with 1/16 oz jigs on a loop knot. Fish edges of the weeds. You picked the busiest week of the year. Fish mornings. Good luck
Hey man, me and my dad are going fishing at deep creek lake. What baits do you recommend to buy to catch fish such as perch and crappie?
Hi Mason. Get a few dozen medium fatheads. Worms also work. Stick to the edge of weeds and fish mornings and evening in the summer. Boats get bad in the summer. I have a few live bait videos on DCL. Good luck

Jennings is a man man lake built over a town back in 1981. Have you seen any old structures down there?
Jennings is such a deep lake. We have only explored the one area. I know much of that old town was deep along the old river. “I think” that the closer we get to where Potomac flows in, the less clear the lake will be. We do plan to explore more of the lake. To dive other areas, there will have to be perfect conditions. There is a lot to consider.
The town was called “Shaw”. To my knowledge, and I actually did research it a little, most of the town was disassembled and the building materials were reused elsewhere. I believe that is what I found.
And yes it is a very deep lake. I think the town would be in over 200’ of water which is well beyond recreational diving limits.

Great video. I really like how you start the video with a detailed google map of the general area and specifically where you ended up catching most of your fish.
Yeah, those giant kings can wear you out for sure. Been there many times. My biggest was landing one over 30 lbs on 8 lb test, what a battle but, many bigger ones lost with no chance. When you get one of those giants on and they want to frieght train you it's over, no holding them back. Good luck in the future.

How was the clarity of the water?
I’ve seen better clarity in April. Previous storms and wind probably didn’t help.
Do you limit the amount of fish you eat from DCL due to high mercury levels? Crappie were hitting at cross creek Saturday. I’ll be there tomorrow hopefully these cold nights don’t drop water back down below 64 degrees.
Nice Steve. I am going to get out there soon. You never know what these temps are going to do. They have been all over. I have not been to DCL in 6 months. I don’t eat enough fish out of the lake to be concerned. Good luck at Cross Creek!

Only days I have a chance of getting skunked on deep creek are cold windy days. Happy I got a few. 😁

At the end, looked like what I call a Sea Mullet, or Kingfish...also called a roundhead...the chin barbel is the clue. Those fish are often caught in the surf, in close. Good eating size, there.
A year later, after making this video, I caught more of these fish in the surf. The guy I was with called the sea mullet. I took one home to try. Very good eating fish.

What size zonker are you using here?
I tied them with hook sizes 10, 8 and 6 with a decent size shank. The one in this video was an 8. The zonker strip was probably close to 1 1/2 inches if I had to guess, to cover body and tail. I don’t measure the strips, just eyeball it.

Went today few hours caught 2 rainbows tungsten pheasant tail jig. Low and clear. Not too crowded.

By the way, I am tying in a counter clockwise direction. I can tie in either direction though. I want to point that out before someone else does. I got in this habit years ago. The end product is the same no matter the direction.
What size hook are you using?
I tie them in a lot of different sizes but this one is a size 8. Also, you need a hook that has a long enough shank
