They sent me one in the first wave for reviews. Deep down I didn't like it at first and thought the slide was "over done". That was the out-of-the-box first feelings when I received it weeks before the public saw it. Then I shot it, then I really started to understand it. The more I shot it and longer I looked at it, the more I understood it and really came to appreciate it. It runs and sounds great suppressed too. I now have my own FFL/SOT and recommend it all the time to my customers. For the money it's a damn good gun. I threw the small frame housing on it and got even better control and grip purchase. Just an all around great gun!
I'm not a Glock fanboy, but it is stupid when people say Glock killer. Glocks still have their place in this market and they are still fantastic pistols that are accurate and extremely reliable. Just get both, that is my opinion!
@briancooke5532 as someone with both a echelon and glock 17 while the echelon may be overall more setup or ready to be setup than my glock at the end of the day if shit hits the fan I'm grabbing the glock why cause replacement parts and mags are Hella abundant
One thing to note guys, this pistol is not from springfield they did not make this they just imported this, and the manufacutre that made this pistol is HS produckt they are a military and LEO firearms manufacutre and have been supplying firearms for decades all over the world they are based and all of thier products are made in Croatia. The Croatian military uses a bullpub rifle known as the the VHS 2 and the VHS-D2
This is a good point and 100% true! But, and I'm not hating at all, but what does it matter? The gun wouldn't be on the market for the price if they didn't import it... it doesn't hurt the function or reliability of the gun 😂
The second thing to note is that dosen't matter as we have people buying cheap turkey pistols and they function fine. Springfield is doing great standing by thier products especially the prodigy and echelon. They will grow and the echelon works amazing for what it is.
@@cliffordbosworth5378 springfield is known for making 1911s and ars especially the M1A. However when it came to polymer pistols many people thought that it was unreliable or a piece of shit cause it was out of springfields territory in that sense. HS produckt was the one who made the polymer pistols and including the XDM and the hellcat
My only problem is the current iteration of Springfield markets under the guise of being the same legendary company that won wars . It’s deceptive, that being said I own a hellcat pro and it’s a great firearm . In my opinion Springfield should be more transparent on what they are
iirc HS Produkt also makes everything for their guns in house. They don't import a part from a different country or anything like that. It lets them iterate very quickly on their designs and not be beholden to someone else.
Bought mine about three months ago. Added a Holosun 407 when I did. Added a Talon Grip and bought two more mags. I now have about 100o through it. Zero issues. Great gun and glad I purchased it. Love the channel and the way you present your videos.
The Echelon is a great pistol. Borrowed one from TGC and put around 1500 rounds thru it with zero issues. After sending it back ( I begged Jon to let me keep it) I had to buy one. At this point is really is my favorite striker fired pistol. Dare I say it, I like it more than my H&K VP9. Anyone that "needs" a striker fired pistol should take a look and consider it. You can't find a more feature loaded "service" pistol on the market that really requires no modding. Also I didn't really expect to like it, let alone fall in love with it.
The PDP is a contender w this, you can get a PDP pro with all the bells and whistles for $799 all day. Personally i want both. Ive always been a fan of Glocks and the M&P 2.0
I’m in law enforcement as a patrol supervisor and carry it on duty. I run a holosun 507 comp, and TLR-1HL. Solid gun. I’ve ran around 2000 rounds through it with no issues. Only thing I’ve done to it is swapped to a powder river precision trigger. Not for a reduce in trigger pull just wanted a crisper wall. 10/10 love it. My prior agency carried the P320 and this blows it out of the water. My current agency also issues the Glock 45 and it’s still a night and day difference.
Good review, I absolutely love my Echelon. I was kinda "meh" when I first handled the gun at the lgs, but decided to pick one up and see for myself. Now, I've owned many, many handguns over the years and I can honestly say that the Echelon is one of, if not the best polymer, striker fired pistols I've owned. I have a few thousand rounds thru mine and it has not disappointed me yet. As a matter of fact, I liked it so much, I bought another one for my nightstand gun! I would highly recommend trying one out.
My Echelon 1500+ rounds. All ammo types. Zero malfunctions ..... In fact, my Prodigy 4.25, bought last December has 1000+ rounds. Zero malfunctions ....... I daily carry the Echelon with little if any trouble. Mounted 508T and an Olight Baldr Pro R with Black Rhino Concealment Tac holster. I ditched my Hellcat RDP as it is like shooting a ball of barbed wire. Nice idea, but.... no. Full frame for me. And remember, guys. If someone doesn't like 1911's, we can not be friends. 🙂
@@EngineMedic7 The optic SA offers is not very good. Buy an optics plate and try the Cyelee Wolf X Pro ....... that optic, so far, is pretty darn good !!!! 👍👍👍
@TheAmerican1963 ive never run an optic so on a handgun is zero. ive run a red dot on my AR but that's a different animal. So was trying to see if i should save a couple hundred off the start
I see it this way: Glock 45 or 17 around $600 Good stippling job $300 Optic cut with slide serrations $300 Different sights $100 Upgrading the trigger $150 Total around $1450 Springfield Echelon $550 Trijicon RMR or SRO around $450 Surefire x300 around $250 1000 rounds 9mm 124gr $250 Total around $1500 My choice Echelon any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Great video as always boys.
I've got an Echelon. Probably only around 1000 rounds through it, but I absolutely love it. I had it ported and it shoots even better. Not a single malfunction so far.
@@jjacks8203my only question is why port it over getting the threaded barrel and adding a comp, porting reduces performance the threaded barrel is 5.28in so 3/4 of a inch longer then the factory barrel so increased performance then add the comp and recoil still gets reduced I mean I get length but it's a duty gun nothing about it is small
@@MrSheldonjohnson ended up getting mine done by monsoon Tactical. Lucky seven porting. Works great with Factory spring. No malfunctions with a wide range of ammo. waiting list and delay kind of a bummer but think total time from signing up/paying and getting my slide/barrel back was around 10 to 12 weeks. Was only without the slide/barrel for the last three or four of that. They sometimes offer a deal around holidays to shave a little money off
@@lucasschmitz4588agreed.. everyone wants to run a duty gun like a race gun, not realizing just how much the porting will affect the expansion of hollow points. You’ve basically reduced the effectiveness of your carry ammo by more than 5% Unless it’s a dedicated race gun, comps over ports every single time.
I got the Echelon the week that it dropped, I've put over 3000 rounds through it, and it is 100% worth the price I paid for it, definitely a grab and go "Oh shit" gun
@@candidob8683 More like a 1911 and you can clearly see from this video it is nothing like a Glock or if you go to their website. Glock is the only manufacturer that has the extreme angled grip.
Since you guys did a pdp video I really expected this one to come out too and I'm very surprised you guys like it this much and were this positive. Thank you guys for being honest.
I just happened upon your video. I am interested in the Echelon. 1. I love your style and honesty of your video. I signed up. 2. After watching your video, I have decided to purchase one. Thanks! I’ll be looking forward to other videos.
Omg, the transition with the belt was just amazing 😂. Nice review as always. Congratulations to the cameraman, it s just high end qualities videos. À lot of work for him to edit such videos. Good job
I emailed Flux Defense, they said they are interested in making one for the Echelon, however they need to wait until theres a lot more Echelons in the wild/longer length of time since it got released.
I bought the Echelon just to try it out. Got a great deal on a case of ammo from Bud’s Gun Shop and had no failures. I was so impressed with the pistol I sold my Glock 17 and purchased a second Echelon as a backup.
Over 3000 rounds through mine zero malfunctions. Primarily blazer brass, used 125 and 115 gr. Some PMC also. i’d say about 90% of time I also get birthday bump.
I bought mine several months ago…approximately 300 rounds and no malfunctions…I have medium to large hands…feels great/shoots great…I put a Holosun 507C on it/love the VIS…the gun has lived up to the hype.
Springfield takes a lot of shit from the gun community, but you can't deny that they have brought some really good guns to the market in the last few years.
I bought mine a month after it came out. I shot over 2000 rounds through it. It has a Holosun 508t, streamlight TLR-1 and have had zero malfunctions, no stove pipes, no failure to feed, nothing. It has been my EDC. I plan to get a threaded barrel for it, magwell and some tartan-tactical base plates or Springer Precision magwell and base plates. Maybe a new trigger but so far this trigger has only gotten better. I’ve owned a lot of Glocks and this one is trully a Glock killer. Thanks for the video guys!
Nice review! I rented one shortly after they hit the shelves & put 100rds through it. I'm not a fan of polymer, but I preferred it over just about everything else duty sized & polymer, except HK. We've come along way in this category, though, and that is certainly a good thing. 👍👍
Probably a great option for someone who's looking to buy something and be done. I have been in both camps. Sometimes i want to build and tinker , piece together what i want , and that end product will be better for me than even these newer guns that are getting better out of the box.
Took the Echelon plunge myself and couldn’t be happier. Currently have a bit over 700 rounds in mine. No problems of any kind. Absolutely fantastic peice.
CZp10c is like 375-450. So enough left over for optic work if needed and potentially enough for a holster or magazine. Just an option for those looking! Admittedly though really like the echelon especially the slide cuts and everything ready out of the box.
I own both. Got my P10C Optics ready for $360. It's a beast of a gun. I feel my Echelon is slightly better and probably my favorite polymer gun currently. But if I just had a P10C I'd definitely still be a happy man.
@jamr3116 what makes the Echelon better for you? I run the P10SC which is the P10F slide on the P10C frame and that is by far my favorite striker fire.
I love the slide lock/release because it takes barely any pressure to push it down to release the slide. As happened to you in the video, my slide closes anytime I slam a loaded magazine in. I was a little weirded out by that at first, but I kind of like it now. I’ve got about 500 rounds through mine without a single failure.
Birthday bump,, my HK VP9 does the same thing when you insert a new mag. I actually prefer it and VP9 would be my favorite gun if I didn't ride the slide release every time I shoot it. Just picked up the Echelon but haven't been able to shoot it yet. Great content as always with you guys!
FLUX DEFENSE - If you see this, please make a Raider for this. Seriously, I’ll buy 2 of them yesterday. As far as the Echelon on its own, I got one a bit after its release and I would do it again. I have 1200rds through it with zero issues. No regrets. If you’re someone on the fence, at it’s price, it’s a solid polymer handgun.
Amen. I second that on both comments. I have the P320 flux but would ditch it for an Echelon flux (plus buy two more echelons - 1 with the threaded barrel). It is an awesome gun.
Old guy here. Shot for 40+ years. Many different types, auto and revolver. I have 2 Echelons now. One with optics and one with iron. I like this gun ALOT....😊😊😊😊😊. Good review.😊😊😊.
I’m planning on buying my first gun tomorrow or at least here very soon. And I’m leaning toward getting this, looks like a good solid, reliable hand gun and good first gun that I don’t have spend a bunch money on.
I know its a been a year but i think "out of the box" you should compare the Echelon with the m&p 2.0 with their new trigger because these things being priced ~equally with grip texture, optic cuts, triggers, and sight options and ambi controls they are both best bang for you buck.
@@TheRancor53 I have approaching 10k rounds through my shadows with no issues, I have gotten most of my elites for under 700 and the foundation series can be had for less.
@@randyreviewsityou’re one of the few I know, malfunctioning cr920 was horrible and pattern of unreliability just search for vids. VP9 is solid but again, all in an M&P tacpac deal is 500 and the new trigger is fine. 650 max with an Apex.
@@TheRancor53I got two tac pacs in right now I am testing the m&p 2.0 compact and the shield plus. The m&p is way too aggressive to carry against your skin. The shield plus actually feels alright. Still have to see how it shoots though.
I have had mine for about 10 months. Have about 1200 rounds through it. One malfunction due to ammunition. Was shooting reloads and a round didn’t chamber as a primer wasn’t fully seated and it did not go into battery. 100% besides this issue. The Echelon was 100%. I have a Holosun EPS MRS optic on it and carry it in a Tulster holster out of Texas. Great holster. Would recommend this gun to anyone considering it.
I love my 45's but I just bought the Echelon & shot it yesterday & man I love this pistol! Smooth action, nice trigger & the VIS optics system is a game changer. I bought a Holosun 507 & dropped right on no problem and with the sight sitting lower ( not on a plate ), it co-witnesses with the iron sights. I lined up the dot with the irons & was hitting my target with the 1st rounds fired. The Echelon may be replacing my XDm 45 as my EDC!
Lol. I am a 1911 guy. I bought the Echelon before it was the cool gun to own. I usually sell plastic guns within a few months. I can't seam to want to let this one go. It has everything needed without the bullshit.
I'm a new pistol owner, and I bought this and their Emissary (which would be cool for you guys too review) and while I'm not a frequent range guy, between myself and 2 others, its had around only 3-400 rounds including hand loaded stuff, with zero malfunctions.
Love mine so far I probably have about 500- 600 ish rounds through it. Only had an issue with a mag extension because I put the metal plate on incorrectly so my rounds fell out. Obviously a simple fix.
Once again gents, great review. The birthday bump that you refer to is a feature that was built into the Pro Series CORE (Combat Optics Ready Equipment) pistols from Smith & Wesson. This was when the red dot on pistol craze was just taking off. I like it because it takes one movement out of the battery of arms and reloads are fast af. S&W removed that feature in the proceeding models and I haven’t seen it in any other until the Echelon.
As someone with small hands that can't quite reach the slide stop on a glock/m&p I can reach the Echelon slide stop perfectly. That being said he is right, I'm a lefty and thank god it's ambi otherwise I also have to break my grip to drop the slide with my index finger.
I have one. Got it when they first came out. Been flawless so far. Under 1k rounds though so far. I like it better than my glocks and I have 24 of those. All said though I carry a staccato
5000 rounds through my Echelon with a 509T optic and a modlite for the flashlight. Replaced the 17 round base with a +3 from Taran Tactical. ZERO MALFUNCTIONS. This gun is my go to and I would recommend it to anyone that wants something in the polymer/striker fired realm.
I will eventually pick one of these up, ive handled one and dry fired it at my local gun shop. I was not impressed w the trigger, hopefully it gets better once broken in.
Poly striker guns just don't get me excited anymore these days. I saw this drop and thought wow, how original. After seeing reviews on exactly what this pistol has out of the box, it would sit very high on my list if I was in the market. great review guys.
Bought it first day haven’t put it down yet. Minimal felt recoil for a polymer pistol out the box imo. Literally made this my side arm for training days. Round count…uhhh I lost count 😂 good video guys!
Springfield Armory the FIRST name in American Firearms.... made in Croatia. I wish HS Produkt could get away from the tacky SA and just distribute their stuff on their own.
@@hks956 I'm not sure you understand how distribution works, and that America is a country largely built on international trade. Next time you look at your Glock, you'll notice that the frame says "Made in Austria," and then underneath it "Glock USA, Smyrna, GA." HS could go to the trouble of setting up "HS USA," but SA stepped up and made it happen for US distribution. But the SA team also had a hand in the DESIGN of the Echelon, so ... 🤷
Who dethroned Glock? It definitely isn't the Echelon. There's plenty of polymer striker fired guns that are nicer than Glock but they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
Glock innovates a lot! They took a 17 and shortened the slide and dust cover! Then they took the 45 and lengthed the slide to match the 17 again! Look, so much innovation!😂
@Kosem72 "no need to innovate" isnt even a defence, its just a false statement. Firearms didn't peak in the 1910s, they didn't peak in the 1930s, and they didnt peak in the 1980s either. _But more importantly than that_ we aren't MARSOC. Its not viable for a civilian to carry an M4 with them everywhere, so the handgun is almost always _OUR_ primary weapon. You might be able to carry a rifle in your truck or car, but carrying one into Wal-Mart costs you a lot of time and possibly getting shot by some of your county's "finest".
@Kosem72 modular chassis, suppressor ready models, a proper magazine. These are all things glock could do but they don't. They retexture the same gun and change the length. Back when glock was the only game in town that was fine, but they're not, and I should have to spend hundreds of dollars making my overpriced pistol competitive with other offerings.
I held the Echelon once and was hooked. It's lightweight, ergonomic, a soft shooter and as stated, a customized gun from the factory. The glock-like pointing angle takes adjustment depending on what you normally shoot. Not as natural a pointer as something like the CZ P10. Overall, a bargain at sub $600.
This is going to be my new project gun. Currently I’ve owned glocks, a Walther Q5SF, a Walther pdp pro SD, xmacro comp, and an XD. What I want to try to accomplish is a flat shooting pistol with ergonomics tailored to me with the trigger feel off walthers. I understand that the last one might be a stretch since the mechanism of a walther is quite different from these pistols. But I’d be damned if I didn’t try.
I have been interested in a duty pistol and was hung up on walther pdp but didn’t care for the beefy slide cuts. Also price point was an issue. The Glock 19 was my next choice but only for my ability to shoot it very well, but hate the look of glock. I watched your video along with all the others about this echelon and like this enough to give it a buy. Thank you guys for the great reviews.
The HS2000 is a great firearm for the money!!! I bought one and its my EDC that being said I can’t wait till Springfield being to import the Manual Safety version I will 100% jump on that one if they haven’t done it already!! Plus Icarus Precision just released the Aluminum Grip Module for it!!!
H&K=Master Race, 1911=Luke I am your Father, Echelon=better then Glock, Glock=I am the cheaper/less expensive then all the previous gatts..Therefore Glock wins because bang for the buck+reliability..Great video-as always
Great video guys, I'm not big on full time ambi mag releases becase my grip impedes the button, but it seems like an ok option. I wouldn't sell a pistol to buy it, but may be a good first time buyer option.
After about 1000 rounds I loaded 3 of the 20 Rd magazines with random mix and match ammo. 12 different brands including reloads. All mixed up. Ran them through as fast as I could pull the trigger. Zero malfunctions. Let me add the gun was ran right out of the box and was not cleaned or touched internally until after the ammo test above. Currently have about 3000 rounds through it. Practice sessions, training classes, match competition. Zero malfunctions and I'm liking it more every time. I predict there will be a lot of LE Tenders satisfied with this pistol.
An Echelon variant with the Pro SD treatment would be cool. Give it a factory upgraded trigger, 5" threaded barrel (in both 1/2x28 with the Hellcat dimple for the RDP compensator system and the objectively superior M13.5x1LH for suppressor connaisseurs. And not 5.1" or 5.2" as it should stay legal with most competitive rulebooks that ask for 5" flat) and maybe a factory magwell. And ship it with 4 large magazines that have bombproof floorplates. Plus an enlarged slide stop lever, but just on the left side where most right handed people want. Red dot cowitnessing height irons (so lower than full suppressor height) with a fiber optic front, a tungsten guide rod and steel chassis would also be cool, at least as upgrade parts.
Ehhhhhh video was kool....Echelon 2.5k rounds no malfunctions nd I think I'll get to 5k with no problem maybe even just one we'll see. But so far very solid. Only thing different with mine is I have slide cuts and it's sniper Grey nd black
I’ve noticed that if you jam a mag in with purpose it’ll drop the slide. If you insert it with less authority it won’t. I don’t know if this is on purpose or not but I’m not mad at it. I don’t even need to think about it. So I choose to consider it a feature instead of a happy accident.
@@nicksouthwell9393 yeah the only argument some people make is potential for a malfunction but that can be argued with anything and fixed with technique and training like anything 🤷🏼♂️
Man i have 6 of yall videos to catch up on todays a good day. But also sad because i have the bell notification on and havent received not one dang notification. The havent even had you guys on my feed.
I’ve put exactly 400 rounds through mine (all white box Winchester) and have had zero malfunctions. I really like this firearm. It feels like a custom Glock 17…but better. I have a TLR-1 HL and a Holosun 407C and am really considering making it my nightstand gun over my G19 MOS with the same outfit.
I rented one with an optic at my local range and *put about 250 rounds through it. It was fine, no failures but I just wasn’t impressed. I’m a Walther guy and a bit of a trigger snob so maybe that’s why 🤷🏾♂️
I picked one up and like it. But because I'm used to the P320 and PDP grip angles, I can't acclimate easily to the nose-up presentation. Also an EPS optic with a CHPWS plate (fills the front and rear gaps) puts the dot a little closer to the front sight post than I would prefer. Looking forward to training with it more though!
I have one and love it. The only thing i didnt like is the polymer guide rod. So i put in a steel one. I do that with all of mine that have that. That's just me being nit-picky, though. I think it is a fantastic firearm.
The echelon trigger might be the best polymer gun stock trigger I’ve ever shot. I’ve thought about replacing it since I always upgrade all my triggers but this time, I may not. Even the mag release feels so nice, I’d rather keep it than swap it for a slightly raised mag release like the Tyrant cnc.
i got the Echelon, but i got it mid Dec. n it was sold out everywhere near me so i had to order it online, so in my state there are extra fees for EVERYTHING. so it ended up being like 700 bc i had taxes, shipping, paperwork fee (to process), fee for the papers (for the actual papers), the receiving fee, n a fee for using my check card... i just moved here so i didnt know they did all that but i got it super quick, it came in the next day. anyway i have put 750 rounds of monarch 115 grain fmj (the Academy special lol) n about 300 rounds of various defensive rounds, n i has run smooth. other ppl have fired it at the range they liked it. it's a firearm made to be easy to use. it's good beginners n for ppl who are not ready to dump 2500+ on a 2011... YET
24:14 illustrates a VERY dangerous trend in modern handgunnery. Pistols have become so reliable that any malfunction is met with near delightful curiosity, instead of deadly serious focus and an instant trained response. This is the sort of thing that gets people killed in close personal defense situations when semiautos jam up. First, there's confusion, then shock, then panic, then death. All because their response to a stoppage while training has always been "Oh! Would you look at that?... gee wiz, it's a failure to feed! Get a picture!" If you EVER experience a stoppage while firing an autoloading pistol, even in simple, calm shooting at the range, you need to IMMEDIATELY and RAPIDLY clear the jam and get the gun back on target. You WILL fight how you train, so treat the clearing of every hangun stoppage as if your life depends on it.
@1911syndicate Nope. Just a regular guy noticing obvious trends... You responded, though. Had I actually said something silly and inaccurate, I doubt you would've taken the time. Take care 🙂
Imagine talking about your skills and behind a screen while having the ability to show the whole world those skills John Wick. You probably don’t shoot competitions cause “it causes bad habits that don’t translate in a real world scenarios”. Am I correct on that assumption?

I bought an echelon for testing and did a review on it, while I think it’s a decent gun. My shadow systems, hk’s, and my px4’s are all better. One of the reasons I started watching your channel way back in the day, is I think you guys do a fair assessment of things. You guys did a solid review in this video.
I have one the threaded and night sight model, best feeling gun in my hand. Flattest shooter I have, and the most accurate that I have. I have a Glock, cz p10c, canik sf9 elite and the echelon is the best shooter of them all and my favorite. Second would be p10c and canik (their tiggers are amazing) then the Glock.
My first two 1911's were Spelringfields. A stainless GI spec that had a trigger job and commander hammer, that my grandfather had done when he bought it (it was still new in the box when I bought it from my father) My second was the stainless TRP. Both guns were and still are phenomenal. The guys at the Springfield Custom Shop have ALWAYS treated me with service that is above and beyond. Everytime. I know there is some political heat they took awhile back, but I think most of the hits to their reputation is mostly from people who just don't know what their fucking talking about. I have never hesitated to recommend their products or service. For the money, there are almost none better. Glad to see that people are seeing it. As for polymer guns, the only two I've even liked even a little were the Smith & Wessin M&P's and the Springfield XDM's. Guess I'll have to check out the Echelon. The review was different guy's, but a good one. Keep 'em coming.
But for a similar investment you can get something with a proven track record like the S&W M&P M2.0. Similar festures (granted implemented a bit differently). Solid reliability and good aftermarket support too. I'm not against options in the marketplace, just food for thought.
love my Echelon. Only issue was the 20rnd magazine wasn't put together correctly, would fall apart during reloads. SA sent me a replacement, no issues since.
I shot an Echelon last year at a local range competition where we had to shoot one round with our own pistol, one with a Glock 19 and the third with an Echelon. My first impression picking it up was that it felt plasticky, but I shot that damn thing better than I shot my own VP9. I might have to consider one at some point. Hands down it was a better pistol for me than the Glock.
I only looked at one. I thought is was big for a carry pistol, more of a duty pistol, and that was with the stock grip and I have big hands. I guess I'll have to take another look. Good review.

Who cares where it come from or who made it bro as long as we like ours right I love mine too
Are you me? I did exactly the same thing haha
So two boxes of ammo?
The Echelon is a great pistol.
Borrowed one from TGC and put around 1500 rounds thru it with zero issues. After sending it back ( I begged Jon to let me keep it) I had to buy one. At this point is really is my favorite striker fired pistol. Dare I say it, I like it more than my H&K VP9.
Anyone that "needs" a striker fired pistol should take a look and consider it. You can't find a more feature loaded "service" pistol on the market that really requires no modding.
Also I didn't really expect to like it, let alone fall in love with it.
Just finally came across one , couldn’t not buy it after holding it , I pleasantly surprised how much I really like it .
Thank you for your input
Been eyeballing the Prodigy....
@yohanwolfhause8268 im ordering one soon too (prodigy) just debating with or with dragonfly
@@EngineMedic7 I understand. No optic is cheaper. around $1240.00 .... you will really enjoy the pistol, optic or not. Good luck amigo !!!!! 🙂
My echelon has been solid, no malfunctions yet and over 1k rounds. Definitely prefer it to my stock Glock and even stock M&P.
I see it this way:
Glock 45 or 17 around $600
Good stippling job $300
Optic cut with slide serrations $300
Different sights $100
Upgrading the trigger $150
Total around $1450
Springfield Echelon $550
Trijicon RMR or SRO around $450
Surefire x300 around $250
1000 rounds 9mm 124gr $250
Total around $1500
My choice Echelon any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Great video as always boys.
I never could justify the price of the Surefire over the streamlight tlr-1 hl
@@bettercallhag I agree but I intentionally put the more expensive one so mfs don’t say I went the cheaper route.
@@alexanderthegreat8067 lol I hear you
I've got an Echelon. Probably only around 1000 rounds through it, but I absolutely love it. I had it ported and it shoots even better. Not a single malfunction so far.
Who ported? Looking to do mine.
@@jjacks8203 I was also looking to get mine ported, so if you find out a good setup, please let me know.
You’ve basically reduced the effectiveness of your carry ammo by more than 5%
Unless it’s a dedicated race gun, comps over ports every single time.
I went with the Echelon over the PDP and this pistol is top notch. Super happy with it, shoots great and no malfunctions. Great video
why did you choose this over the pdp
@@warrenroberts1912 Ergos and I it shot more natural for me, plus everything it comes out of the box.
Should have just got a CZ P-10c. Cheaper and amazing out the box.
Same! Picked the echelon over the pdp and a cz p10c and have ZERO regrets lol
I got the Echelon the week that it dropped, I've put over 3000 rounds through it, and it is 100% worth the price I paid for it, definitely a grab and go "Oh shit" gun
That's a real review! Thanks.
Is the grip angle like a 1911 or more like a glock?
@@candidob8683 More like a 1911 and you can clearly see from this video it is nothing like a Glock or if you go to their website. Glock is the only manufacturer that has the extreme angled grip.

1000 ish 0 malfunctions. Drives nails reliably. Love mine so far.
Since you guys did a pdp video I really expected this one to come out too and I'm very surprised you guys like it this much and were this positive. Thank you guys for being honest.
Thank you for reaching for so long and for the kind words. Jake and I will always do our best to be 100% honest and truthful
I just happened upon your video. I am interested in the Echelon. 1. I love your style and honesty of your video. I signed up. 2. After watching your video, I have decided to purchase one. Thanks! I’ll be looking forward to other videos.
Thank you for the sub and thank you for trusting us with your dollar. I still stand by this gun and have been very happy with how it has performed
Omg, the transition with the belt was just amazing 😂.
Nice review as always.
Congratulations to the cameraman, it s just high end qualities videos.
À lot of work for him to edit such videos.
Good job
Agree that was sick and great camera work.
Dam, that's a bold statement
Over 3000 rounds through mine zero malfunctions. Primarily blazer brass, used 125 and 115 gr. Some PMC also. i’d say about 90% of time I also get birthday bump.
I bought mine several months ago…approximately 300 rounds and no malfunctions…I have medium to large hands…feels great/shoots great…I put a Holosun 507C on it/love the VIS…the gun has lived up to the hype.
Springfield takes a lot of shit from the gun community, but you can't deny that they have brought some really good guns to the market in the last few years.
you mean imported guns from former commie bloc countries?
Their imbel Brazil "us made" (assembled) 1911s have always been okay, but I just can't support the fraud
They deserve every criticism and then some.
@@griftinggamer I'm not saying they don't. I'm just saying that they have put out some quality firearms in recent years.
@BehindTheGoldenCurtain
Still waiting on the prodigy to actually work.
Great information thanks
I'm very excited about picking up my new Springfield Echelon
Probably a great option for someone who's looking to buy something and be done. I have been in both camps. Sometimes i want to build and tinker , piece together what i want , and that end product will be better for me than even these newer guns that are getting better out of the box.
Took the Echelon plunge myself and couldn’t be happier. Currently have a bit over 700 rounds in mine. No problems of any kind. Absolutely fantastic peice.
Solid video guys.
Thanks brother. Need to get together here in the QC
CZp10c is like 375-450. So enough left over for optic work if needed and potentially enough for a holster or magazine.
Just an option for those looking!
Admittedly though really like the echelon especially the slide cuts and everything ready out of the box.
Do you own a P10c/f or have you shot one, if so, how does it compare to the Echelon?
One of the best gun reviews channels I’ve came across
I have a hellcat Pro absolutely love it. This is my next purchase
Agreed on both comments dude glad you’ve enjoyed yours and if flux makes one whhhhew that would be dope
Nah you can get a vp9 for 499 now, or a shadow systems foundation
@@randyreviewsitShadow systems has a mixed record, and the VP9 optics ready is usually closer to 700-750 on the low end
Excellent man!
Love mine so far I probably have about 500- 600 ish rounds through it. Only had an issue with a mag extension because I put the metal plate on incorrectly so my rounds fell out. Obviously a simple fix.
Great review can’t wait to see yall review on the Walther PDP Steel frame 4.5 inch
I sold mine not because it was bad on the contrary it was amazing I just wanted a staccato and didn’t feel like being as patient
Echelon became the best 9mm out of the box hands down! Great job springfield 💯
Cool video great editing 👌😎
Thanks!!
Hey that’s awesome man glad you’re enjoying it
@@Chrisblau Thank brother! Happy Tuesday and much blessings to you.
Springfield Armory motto:
"Why make your firearms when you can just import them?"
Right... and Rob Leatham and the American SA team had nothing to do with the design. 🙄
Who cares? The hs2000 was dead until sa picked them up and it led us to the echelon.
lol :D
With Glock's lack of innovation, it doesn't take much to dethrone a Glock.
That joke has been making the rounds for years, but Glock has yet to be dethroned.
From an edc echelon carrier the textures isn’t to aggressive at all still great shooter too I love it honestly it’s my favorite I own so far
I’m looking forward to an Fde version but worse case there’s rattle cans for the frame haha
Just a note, I have a CZ P10F that does the “birthday bump” as you call it. It also FTFs on flat nose rounds, often enough I’ve stopped carrying it.
H&K=Master Race, 1911=Luke I am your Father, Echelon=better then Glock, Glock=I am the cheaper/less expensive then all the previous gatts..Therefore Glock wins because bang for the buck+reliability..Great video-as always
lol
Great video guys, I'm not big on full time ambi mag releases becase my grip impedes the button, but it seems like an ok option. I wouldn't sell a pistol to buy it, but may be a good first time buyer option.
Seems like a nice pistol and perhaps it’s modularity is it’s main selling point, similar to the P320, but better.
4K rounds through mine so far and not a single malfunction.
Thanks for posting, i have subscribed to your channel twice, and it's very weird that Im not unsubscribing
Hmmmm bizarre
Ehhhhhh video was kool....Echelon 2.5k rounds no malfunctions nd I think I'll get to 5k with no problem maybe even just one we'll see. But so far very solid. Only thing different with mine is I have slide cuts and it's sniper Grey nd black
great content. always like straight and good info. thank you
I don't usually interested in full size pistol but I would consider Echelon when it release in CA soon. Great reviews
I’ve noticed that if you jam a mag in with purpose it’ll drop the slide. If you insert it with less authority it won’t. I don’t know if this is on purpose or not but I’m not mad at it. I don’t even need to think about it. So I choose to consider it a feature instead of a happy accident.
Yes that’s on purpose it’s called a birthday bump. Some companies do that some don’t
@@Chrisblau Well who ever came up with that idea I’d like to shake their hand. It just makes sense from competition to self defense.

Preach.
I love my Echelon and plan to buy the comped version soon.
Great video. I am considering the Water PDP, but this caused me to take a good look at the Echelon before making a buying decision.
i got the Echelon, but i got it mid Dec. n it was sold out everywhere near me so i had to order it online, so in my state there are extra fees for EVERYTHING. so it ended up being like 700 bc i had taxes, shipping, paperwork fee (to process), fee for the papers (for the actual papers), the receiving fee, n a fee for using my check card... i just moved here so i didnt know they did all that but i got it super quick, it came in the next day. anyway i have put 750 rounds of monarch 115 grain fmj (the Academy special lol) n about 300 rounds of various defensive rounds, n i has run smooth. other ppl have fired it at the range they liked it. it's a firearm made to be easy to use. it's good beginners n for ppl who are not ready to dump 2500+ on a 2011... YET
I got mine and out a 507c on it. Zero complaints at all from me.
Get a picture!"
If you EVER experience a stoppage while firing an autoloading pistol, even in simple, calm shooting at the range, you need to IMMEDIATELY and RAPIDLY clear the jam and get the gun back on target. You WILL fight how you train, so treat the clearing of every hangun stoppage as if your life depends on it.
So highly inaccurate. But I’m sure you used to be on Delta Force
@1911syndicate Nope. Just a regular guy noticing obvious trends... You responded, though.
Had I actually said something silly and inaccurate, I doubt you would've taken the time. Take care 🙂

This is extremely kind of you to say and we really appreciate the kind words sir 👊🏼👊🏼
My first time watching this channel. I don't like people usually. For some reason, I liked these dudes. Subscribed.
lol thank you. Only our parents like us. And even then, only sometimes
Well, sounds like I'd probably like your parents, but only sometimes.
Haha dude that’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to Jake and I. Thank you for the Sub brother 👊🏼👊🏼
Its all good Matt, Jake and Chris dont typically like people either. Youre in good company
@@christiandulaney1638 correction JAKE doesn’t like people. I get along with like 99.999999% of people I meet
I love mine, I stopped counting at 1000 rounds (zero malfunctions). I am curious what the Icarus grips are going to look like. I am looking forward to other grip modules and slides being made available.
What SA has been doing is great, both the echelon and hellcat series are fantastic handguns
I bought an echelon for testing and did a review on it, while I think it’s a decent gun. My shadow systems, hk’s, and my px4’s are all better.
One of the reasons I started watching your channel way back in the day, is I think you guys do a fair assessment of things. You guys did a solid review in this video.
I disagree and I think the echelon is a better gun
Very excited for this one! Help out us poor boys 😂
600 rounds. Vortex ccw defender no issues. Love it.
as a small handed and left handed shooter, the slidfe release/lock works great for me. and i struggle ALOT with other slide releases
