the camera is interesting, the review is interesting, and quite interesting that your beauty is interestingly interesting! maybe try 400tx for the contrast dince hp5 will come pretty dull at box speed
Hi T… That’s flim for you! The amazing thing about all these photos is the classic vintage look, what we grew up with seeing in albums, or for those who shoot film. Non-digitalised photos, something digital just can’t do! As usual love ❤your work and inspiration.🌷
I’m so glad you took time to check this one out! The film look and process is remarkable. For nostalgic souls, okay with the imperfections. Excited to keep going here - thank you :)
Yes, you should keep trying, you have nailed it with your M’s! I started film in the early 90’s with a GR-1, then F80, loved it and learned so much, before l went digit!al. 2 years ago, l sold a SP35 and GR-21, as film and processing has become very expensive! One dayl hope to get back into it, maybe only do B&W and lean to develop from home… enjoy your day T..🥂Thanks…
Teri I love the black and white photo at 7:36 and the selfie at 7:41. My only small film camera is the Olympus mju II which is a fixed 25 and tbh I love it. I just wish I could set the ISO of the loaded film manually but it reads it from the canister so it doesn't let me push HP5 for example to 800 which I like to do. But I do love this little camera and I'm always stunned at the photos from it! If I can find a small fast film camera with some additional manial overrides than the mju ii I will most likely pick it up! Interesting video and as always love the photos. Cheers
I’ve heard good things about the Olympus mju II - I got an Olympus stylus recently and it completely died on me after just one roll, the photos were okay imo. Totally hear ya on having the camera adjust to the film stock, less control. I’m excited to experiment more and see where it fits - thanks for taking the time Colin!!
Very cool! I had the 40mm model for years and just started using it again, after a few rolls it just died and is currently out for repair, can't wait to get it back!
@@teribphotography unfortunately from my understanding, it just happens. I put a fresh roll in, took 3 pictures, and on the 4th it made a weird sound and that was it. From my understanding it's mostly the ribbon cable on the lens breaking from extending and contracting over 30 years, so best thing is to not turn it off and on unnecessarily I'd guess. Red dot repair offers repairs for the 40mm version at the moment, but not sure about the zoom model.
Great Job Teri... The shots had a nostalgic cool energy to them :) & Yes - I can certainly see the vibe and direction you're wanting to head with this camera!!! I think you are really onto something, it's going to be very original and cool :) Keep Going...
Thanks for checking it out Grant! This camera is pretty unique to anything I’ve shot with in recent years on 35mm. Some of the images I didn’t care for at all and some I got really excited about. Fingers crossed more positive discoveries are to be found :)
I went back and forth on getting the zoom or the non zoom. And I am glad I got the zoom. It's nice to just be able to inch in a little bit without disturbing my subjects which can be kids a lot of the time. Anyways, just wanted to say I love my Minilux zoom :)
Try using it with the Leica Cf flash, it doesn’t look like much but if you use the enloop high capacity rechargeable AA batteries you won’t have to worry about recycling time. I also use the same flash with my M9 and M11. The flash has two auto settings and one manual (full output). I tend to use “Auto setting 2” with my M cameras because I like the F11 at iso 400 settings and then it’s just like a point and shoot camera. Just a thought
Hello Teri. Your videos are interesting. Just an observation & constructive criticism, though. Vocal fry is splattered throughout your clips. It's where your voice starts out in a smooth, clear delivery. . .then falls off into a crackly disintegration. For example, listen where you start at 1:54, and where it ends at "35mm focal length" And again at 2:41 it's smooth regarding red eye until you get to "it's terrifying, when you see it back in photos." Hope this is helpful.
@@teribphotography We're all imperfect. Sometimes we're not aware of things until someone points 'em out, like having a piece of broccoli stuck in your smile. It's not meant to be hurtful, but to be helpful.
I used to have the minilux and loved it for architecture/city pics but I sold it because it was so slow when capturing humans. But for all other types of slow photography, I LOVED it!
I really get this. I want to try a little bit more before making a call, would love to find ways to make it useful for a wedding! Appreciate you checking this video out ✨
love the photos you took! they look amazing 😻 I also have the same one but the photos always turned out overexposed or underexposed (i did play around with the EV however it didn't work 😭). How did you deal with the lights though ? And have you used manual focus or just AF ? Thank you! This camera is so new to me and def harder than any PNS i've ever used!!
Hi Hi! Really sorry for this delay, hopefully you've had better luck? I do not touch the EV. I experiemented a little with the flash but feel like the camera does much better in daylight settings! Just AF is honestly all you need!
Almost any analog camera could keep up with that Minilux. I would say - they could do even better.... But thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience :)
Thanks for watching!! This camera did all kinds of things! Lol I think the main wedding reception that I shot was just such a dark room for the camera. There was fog machine too, so tricky to find the focus I’m sure 😂
I love your work and your wedding style in general. That said (and meant), I don’t see what this camera brought you in serving the clients (not talking about the concert photos, which were fun. To me, these resembled the “ pass out disposable camera” images. Your usual work is so crisp and lovely; I think these diluted that standard. Just my 2 cents…
I don’t disagree with you Don! The concert felt super fun and low stakes and the results I loved. For the wedding I think I still need to dive into how and where it makes sense, if at all. The idea for this was for receptions but I’m also very open to the possibility that it might not be a great idea. I’ve loved dancefloor on my MP with a 21mm and flash too, probably much more if I’m honest. We’ll see! You were so kind in how you approached this - appreciate that! And I really do agree the more I think about it ✨
@@teribphotography Teri-I truly hesitate to comment negatively when anyone is out there working and exploring. I honestly was struck that they seemed to lower your hard-won very high standard. Love hearing you discuss these things. Thanks very much for sharing. Shooting a wedding is so much work and so stressful-but I miss it and really enjoy your approach.
hahaha!!! It was a pretty interesting start, a long way to go - about to move out of this apartment so alllllll good with these noises, thanks for sticking with me!
There are a few people who work on them! I was just connected today with some guy in Florida who specialises in the Leica Minilux zoom- it’s not an easy fix usually though, you are right!
its from panasonic, also the nikon 28/35ti and the normal minilux. Thepartnership with minolta was finished in 1997 when the camera was inteoduced. 🙋🏻♂️
I say ‘interesting’ like 57 times and I’m sorry for that 😅

Yes there’s that vintage film point & shoot look, I’m sure you’ll prefer the the fixed 40mm lens version. 😊Thanks
I originally wanted the 40mm but this deal came up on eBay and I couldn’t resist 😅 appreciate you!

Did you see any warning signs before the err2 message? I’m so afraid of that happening but know it’s a real possibility

Hi Elise!! I hear ya, I had a tough time finding the non-zoom version. The zoom sound is ... humorous at times!
The camera is great, but you are Stunning!
oh gosh, blushing!
Good morning. 😊
HI! :)
mine was a 40mm loved it made me work for my shots and the images it can produce!
I am so curious to try the 40mm version, I hear it's the one! glad you had it!!

This is wonderful advice. I think a stronger flash would be super helpful. Testing with the m11 would be great. Appreciate your tip here :)

Yeahhhh! Happy to see you back☀️ and although that camera is “…” 😅, in your hands, those shots look boom 💥. Nice to see ya

I’m certainly on the journey to find an analog that can keep up and capture people, any recs?? Ty for watching!! :)
My Nikon 35Ti flash is also slow to charge. It looks like the Minilux is underexposing some, don’t you think?
Really enjoy your channel!

im almost want to pull the trigger to buy this one..but still thinking...coz saving up money for M body hopefully one day
😅😅
it's such a fun one to have but rn i would say an M body would be much more satisfying all around. save for a decent lens too

No contesta UD los mensajes en su página oficial de feace book verdad de Leica ni en inglés ni en español..????????
I have way more faith in you than the Minilux. You might try a high pass/low cut filter to clean out that AC noise.

The trouble with these Minolta made Leicas is that the electronics tend to fail. If so, they are beyond repair. No Leica dealer will touch them.

Yes E02 Error, the multicable is broken, than the camera is garbage.
