- Prof. Hans Pizka explains (as only he can) the context (i.e. what is going on on stage in the opera) of the horn call from Wagner's "Siegfried" (Opera).
Prof. Hans Pizka - Who incidentally holds the world record for the number of times he has played this call in opera houses (allegedly) was for over three decades the solo horn player at the Munich Opera (so he knows his stuff). He is playing here on a single F Vienna Horn, in a large reverberant room with a background cloth and without a warm-up.
Go Hans, wake that dragon! You've given us a perspective that most hornists will never get on this famous solo. Thanks!

it is great, also because he is playing on a Vienna Horn, and therefore it is much more dufficult than playing it on a double (french)horn
Enjoying beer YEAHHHHH!!!! Kidding, he has great spirit and is real virtuoso, Siegfried Call is a embouchure killer, good luck to everyone who trys this in the same dynamic.
Mirro

Wagner - German
Hans Pizka - AUSTRIAN :-)
I just recently got this piece for fun and as a 10th grade horn player I found it very fun. I think the hardest part for me is finding control in my dynamics to match the piece.
Funny Guy Great video
