  • We are at quarters of FDNY Engine 9, Tiller Ladder 6, and Satellite 1 at 75 Canal Street, where we see Engine 9 as they respond to Box 0259 for a female passed out in a restaurant at 285 Grand Street between Forsyth Street and Eldridge Street. Engine 9 is a brand new 2016 KME Severe Service pumper which was delivered about two weeks prior to the taking of this video. Tiller Ladder 6 is a 2013 Seagrave Marauder II with a 100 foot rear mount aerial. Satellite 1 is a 2002 Mack MR. Enjoy the view of the brand new rig as it responds. The female was walking out of the restaurant under her own power and went into the ambulance by herself. The call of 10-91 was transmitted and the engine returned to quarters. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on December 8th, 2015.

Turn out times are different throughout the world and if this works for NYC and FDNY without any adverse effects well then so be it. It used to be that FFs dressed on way to the call but for Safety and wellbeing of crews some dress before leaving no point in charging about like maniacs risking injury when walking to the rig boarding safely ensures that all the crew are on board with no mishaps All FF's are heroes and do a great job. Thankyou for your service, retired FF ( Belfast Northern Ireland UK)

FDNY never seems to be in a big hurry when it comes to turnout times.

BS EMS run? You are disgusting. Somebody could be dying, but to you it's just BS. Why are you on the job?

@@bobbarr6057 No one in EMS does that, either. The vast majority of calls aren't emergent. Show me an EMT/medic that jumps out of the recliner to run priority 1 to leg pain. Unless it comes out as a code/questionable life status or severe respiratory distress, no one is in a rush.

A lady was passed out in this call, they could’ve of gone a little faster but I mean they did fine, so y’all don’t need to be so like “I am way faster than them” or whatever cause it don’t matter unless someone is dying

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't box 0259 a 7 alarm fire about 4-5 years ago? A rather nasty fire if I am not mistaken.

A K-Mart Engine? Then again, the some of these smaller companies are making headway, We just got a pair of Laverne here in Raytown.

Our KME Excel custom is 16 years old and doing well still. Never had any issues. Which is not the case for our Ferrara that is 5 years newer. Is KME a smaller company than Seagrave?

They're not in a hurry because they know they'll be waiting on a bus (ambulance) for some time or the lady will sign off. Nine times out of ten. Besides, this is Chinatown. It's only a few blocks to their box.
