I know this video is old but it's worth noting that you get 10 QR scans a day and changing your system clock will freeze the timer for those scans to reset for a couple of days. I thought I would be cheeky and try to get all the gen 1 starters in the same day but this happened. No big deal just wait a few days or if it is almost Friday when you want to do this then just do in over the few days as they become available. In my eyes, the gen 1 starters and the OG and the best...always.
For generatio 2 you use the scaner in meleme: friday chikorita in route 2, Sunday Cyndaquil in route 3, monday totodile in Seaward Cave. For generation 5 in poni island: Thurdays Serperior in Exeggutor Island, Fridays Samurott in Poni Wilds, and finally saturday emboar in Ancient Poni Path.
I got all the starters of every generation through GTS (and then completed the Pokedex of Alola through GTS, too). It's much faster than this + they level up super fast because they're traded Pokemons (and also breed super fast).

I remember in my save file of ultra moon The Master trainer on route 3 (or the one you can fight for defeating every trainer on the route) had a butterfree with silver wind and roost so when my pokemon kept on tanking silver wind and it kept using roost it struggled to death Edit:Austin thanks for the guide with it I claimed my 1st shiny a grovyle

They where they island scan in sun and moon pretty much replaced by Gen 1 and Gen 6
