What’s connection with Ancient Egypt?
Stone architecture and area looks like Ancient Egypt in early period, like Naqada
@@Osiris_Project It is more of a superficial thing, you could argue they in some ways are closer to actual desert dwellers like the Nabateans instead then the Egyptians.
They certainly built stone villages and even a town, used a complicated system to store water and such, but the main likeness with people in other part of the world is what comes with successful desert dwelling. The Egyptians kinda had the Nile doing a lot of their work for them.
Chaco canyon is certainly an interesting historical place. There are some debate about their use of Kivas though, those are identified by later Hopis and some of the archaeological evidence suggest they were maybe used in a different or somewhat different way. We do not find the same artifacts in more recent kivas as we find in the Anasazi kivas, but we don't really know why that is. It might just be that the rituals have changed a bit the last 800 years... Or maybe they were re-used for something more practical by the end. I am just saying there are some questions about the use, not that the current theory is wrong.
And yeah, I use the Anasazi name which there have been some complaints about in the last 20 years but Publoans came with the Spanish conquistadors so it isn't perfect either. We really don't know what they called themselves.
