      They could have by talent they might have been one of the best ones. The thing is, no defense, no teamwork no advanced tactics... on FIBA basketball you are bound to lose. The NBA has been playing basketball the wrong way for years, its the fault of the Warriors that everyone is trying to copy. No defense, crazy fast pace unnecessarily, all is pick and roll and outside shots...And the result is that USA team is going to suffer on FIBA competitions no matter which players you guys send. You missed an important call, the goaltending and technical on Rubio late in the fourth. The referee had all the decisions against Spain until OT, when they failed for both teams. this was the deciding game for sure... Aussies would have won gold if they got their shit together in that last quarter... but spain was just all over them on Defense, it was too much, they couldn't run a proper offense. Spain played tough.

      @Matthew Spurs Anyone who actually watched the game and is not totally braindead would know that's not the case. The refs were calling in favor of Australia for the first 3 quarters, and most of the 50/50 calls kept falling in favor of Australia even after that, so 2 bad calls in favor of Spain don´t change shit. Like a foul on a counterattack from Spain with a few minutes to go in the 4th, Mills fouls Rubio by trying to get a charge while still moving, the ref that was literally 1 step away from the play calls a foul on Mills, yet somehow the headjudge that was trailing far away insist on reversing the call (like he had done a few times already without even rewatching the play on the TV) and that makes Australia stay on the lead. If anyone had money on the game it was that ref that kept reversing the calls.
      Btw, Bogut Aka mr. Illegal Screen can go cry in a corner, if they called half the illegal screens and "veteran moves" he does he wouldn´t stay in the court for more than 5 minutes.

      @Matthew Spurs maybe, but I disagree. Bogut did foul putting his hand right on Mar Gasols neck, but ok lets say that call was rigged, but Australia missed the last free throw to be up and again and again Australia missed their opportunity. I tought what Bogut meant their are bets and they had to go to over time fixed by the refs, but Australia missed their chanced boxing out instead of just getting the rebound and getting the point. I really think Australia missed their chance it was there for them to take they shouldn't rely on refs. It was a close game if Spain had lost someone else might of been saying the same thing it was fixed against them.

      It was made up on the other end I reckon. Australia kind of blew their chance a couple times, missing open threes and lay ups down the stretch. Patty missing that last FT as well.

    • @willhooke
      @willhooke 5 лет назад +1

      No.
      Bogut responds with hands after getting fouled.
      If the Refs had called Gasol, I feel Bogut never would have fouled.
      It is that simple in my opinion.
      That doesn't mean there wasn't bad calls against Spain in other portions, or that Australia could have easily hit a few more shots.
      Just at the point in time, Gasol fouled and wasn't called, Bogut responds, and gets called.
      So the Ref should have either called Gasol, or let Gasol get away with his foul, and let Bogut get away with his counter foul.
      It doesn't matter ~ I think Australia will be very happy with how they played in the Tournament, and once their pride subsides, will have a lot to work with in the next Olympics and FIBA Tournament.
      I'm pleasantly surprised Australia did as well as they did. :)

Also im excited even if Ben can't shoot he can kick it to Mills Ingles Goulding or most of all our next super star Josh Green who will be a top ten draft pick next year no. 1 ranked SG he will be. Just those two will cream Spain playmaker and his sharp shooter.
