Max, I have been a fan of yours for many, many years now. I like what you do and how you do it. My friends know that I collect. It is an addition. It's a fun addiction. As long as you don't go overboard and have fun with it, we all collect for a reason. Mine is completing sets. Over the past 25+ years I have completed the Washington quarters. From 1932-2022 all dates all mints ('32-64 silver and 65-2022 clad). Please keep doing what you are doing, it's working.
Thank you so much Edward!!!
Wow people are so generous! Im jealous of that 11 year olds collection if this is what he can just give away.
Cool mail call. You’ve got me intrigued with the What Not auction. I’ll have to check out your next auction.
Silverpicker, it's Charlie, and I wanted to say thank you so much for putting that contemporary halfpenny I sent as the thumbnail, it's truly an honour. Thank you for all of the help you have given to me and to others, and I look forward to many more years of collecting. Have a good day!
Charlie, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate dans like you. Your letters mean the world to me!
I guess the "glitter", was likely silver, I remember having something similar as child, with the tinniest amount of gold inside.
Definitely likely
How do people just have the stuff to giveaway.
Newfoundland is pronounced Newfundland.
Jealous of the USO pin...Charlie, at 47, with 30+ years of collecting, I still get gruff from "Old Timers." Even went to the famed Grove Coin Show earlier. this year. And to hear some the things said about the RUclipsrs from the old-school coin dealers, was disheartening enough. They don't realize, we are the ones who are keeping the hobby alive or even bringing more life to it. Don't let it get you down, Bud. Just don't turn into one of them when you get older. Myself, I strive to get the younger crowd in to our hobby. Even through education. Coin collecting, especially world coins, teaches history and new languages. Because of the hobby I can read numerals in Chinese/Japanese and Arabic.
Hi there, I'm Charlie, thanks for the comment and advise, I appreciate it! I am so glad you took the time to write this, so thank you so much!
Jason, you have exactly the right attitude for this hobby. As you already know, we are of like minds, but you truly captured the essence of what I, you, and others do here on yt with this comment
I love what you do. You're great to learn from. But you are very wordy. Try this, write a transcript of every word you say, then go back and cross out those things that are not needed. Look, I understand you put some excitement and flare into it, and that's cool. But so much time is wasted with you just describing what you're doing, like, "ok, now we'll open the package...where is my favorite knife...let me tell you who gave this knife to me." Stuff like that. Your videos could be cut by 25%(time) or more in time and still be entertaining. Yes, I use the fast forward, but I almost always watch on my TV app, and it's kind of a clunky process. You're my favorite coin dude, so please... I am just asking to tighten up on the unnecessary chatter. I, and probably others, consider the time vs subject vs presenter when choosing which vids to watch. Keep up the awesome work. Thank you for allowing me to comment.
I picked up my first US 20¢ few weeks ago. 1876 in VF/XF just over 14 thousand minted
Charlie, one of the things I hear is that people are dumbfounded that we will spend the cost of a new mattress on a coin, but keep in mind that you have a lot in common with people who collect all sorts of things from knives to trading cards. I often hear about coworkers spending lots of money on their hobbies and have to remind myself that I do the same thing.
Great mailcall, and some really good advice for Young Numismatists! Thanks Max… You really know how to promote the hobby!😊
I was wondering what local stores you visit, I am from Brooklyn and looking for a good local shop to visit

MAIL TIIIIIMEEE 😂

Great stuff, some amazing people out there!
Speaking of old English coins, I was just informed that a recent order of mine, three farthings and a half penny (the youngest of which was from 1799) has been lost and the post office has absolutely no idea where it is.
Such a great feeling
😢
😍😍. That Newfoundland 20¢, English farthing, groats and the Canadian 5¢ and the other Canadian coins
