  • Continuing our Ireland Trip, we rented a car in Dublin and started our road trip to Cork. We planned this leg of the road trip around a visit to Blarney Castle, and of course, kissing the Blarney Stone. We also wanted to tour the Jameson Distillery in Midleton (about 20 minutes from Cork) where Jameson and other whiskeys in the Jameson family of brands are made (RedBreast, The Spot whiskeys, Powers, Midleton Very Rare, etc.). On our way to Cork, we stopped to explore The Rock of Cashel, which was amazing and definitely worth a visit. We stayed at an Airbnb in the city center of Cork and hung out around St. Patrick’s Street for the evening.
Subscribe so you don’t miss our next couple of videos where we continue our road trip through Southwest Ireland and drive the Ring of Kerry and visit the Cliffs of Moher.

When we were there the one thing I couldn't hardly get my head wrapped around was the extreme antiquity of the areas we visited. In this country we go back a couple of hundred years but over there, 600-800 years for some of the old stuff really makes you think.

Couldn't agree more! The history is so amazing (and brutal) and something we just don't have here in the States. Could spend a month there and see something new (old) everyday.

I always look forward to your videos. The driving makes me nervous on the other side. I don’t know if I could do it.😂

Great video once again. We checked out Rock of Cashel as well as a random side quest. Totally worth it.

Been enjoying your videos. We’re going the end of May and planned most of the same stops so far. Where did you rent your car in Dublin? I need to rent one but did not want to get one at the airport. Thanks for your help.

Have an amazing trip! We rented from Europcar and picked it up at the Spencer Dock location. www.europcar.ie/en-ie/stations/ireland/dublin-city-centre-spencer-dock?DUBC04&
If you're heading out to a destination south or west of Dublin I would select a different pickup location closer to the way you're heading so you can avoid city traffic. If you're going north that should work as you can get on the M50 pretty quick from there. Also, we rented a Toyota Yaris and the sales person (he was new) tried to upsell us to a hybrid vehicle even though the car we selected was a hybrid. Something to be aware of.
