A magnificent, almost magical walk along the 'Thames & Severn Canal'. A gentle sun, trees and magnificent Nature. A gentle path-path; a delight. To relax and see something beautiful, watch this walk. Thank you Ami OAAW for taking us there. 😀😀😀😀😀
People living in large cities long to be in the countryside, if not in real life for a number of reasons, at least through marvelous images. Thank you so much OAAW. ❤️💯👍
Good evening, Lyn. Thanks for your comment. You must have done many amazing walks over the years and I very much enjoy hearing of your recollections of them. All the best. OAAW
We can sometimes forget how difficult earthwork was without mechanical assistance. The Thames and Severn Canal and the tunnel were Herculean in the effort required to complete. We truly stand on the shoulders of our ancestors!
Good to hear from you, JATC. I hope you are doing well. I must admit, bizarrely, I quite like the look of when nature slowly claims back the environment where man made structures stand / stood. Hope to see you again soon. All the best. OAAW
One of your most interesting walks. I emigrated to Canada in 1952 but remember the English canal system. Sadly neglected in the 1950s but over the last 50 years have been restored to their former glory for all to enjoy. I love all things narrow boat and I’m an avid subscriber to several narrowboat vlogs. Some of them occasionally feature a one hour vlog with just the natural sounds of the canal - no commentary. They always remind me of your beautiful walks and I’m so grateful you do this for us. I know distance lends enchantment, but a little nostalgia goes a long way for this Canadian senior. John, Ontario, Canada
Good evening to you, John from the UK. It is really good to hear from you. I remember you saying how much you enjoy all things narrowboat and I can easily appreciate why you do so. I very much enjoyed filming this walk as it had some interesting features and just felt so incredibly peaceful whilst walking the route. Take care, John. See you again soon, I hope. All the best. OAAW
That's just my 'cup of tea', to be out there with my Golden Retrievers; Magic. Problem is, I'm 5k miles away in San Francisco. Thanks for the great walk, I feel better already.
Hi, Dean. Thank you ever so much for your comment and support. Wow, 5k, that sure is some distance away from the Cotswolds, thank goodness for the internet, hey? Anyway, welcome aboard and I hope we get to see you again on another walk. All the best to you. OAAW
Wow! What a gorgeous walk! All that sunlight shining through the leaves, thank you very much for posting. I have a two screen walking track and this video is a really enjoyable walk.
Hi, Jake. Thanks for your comment. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed this walk. Please forgive my ignorance but what is a "two screen walking track", is it something to use whilst on a treadmill by any chance? All the best to you. OAAW
Instead of a treadmill I placed a screen at one end of the house and another one 12 m away at the other end and I walk between them. That way I can walk at my own pace, I’m not keeping up with a treadmill. Also as I am actually walking along and moving, I get the sensation of walking into the scene on the screen as I approach it, as the scene is also moving in a similar way, except obviously I don’t, when I reach the screen I turn round and walk towards the other screen. Some gyms have walking tracks which are just 12 meter Mats, I haven’t seen any with screens.
Thanks for taking us with you on this very lush and quiet walk, OAAW. That tower at 32:01 is interesting as it seems to be from an earlier period than the Tunnel House; what is it?.Anyhow, I hope you're well and have a great weekend ahead. All the best.
Greetings, Michael. You are most welcome. I wondered the same thing, the openings in it suggest that it is of a much earlier period like you say and the largest opening seemed to be facing the canal. Strange thing is tho, it looks in very good condition for something that might be more than 300 - 400 years old. I wonder if it was used for storage, hopefully someone that knows the area might chime in and solve the mystery for us. I shall have a closer look at it when I go back in the autumn. I hope the family and you are all well. Enjoy your weekend too. All the best. OAAW
@@OutandaboutWalking Thank you. Here I was commenting wishing you a great weekend, thinking it was Friday. It's only Wednesday 😅 I agree with your observation, it seems to be in too good a condition to be several centuries old. Have a great rest of the week then, OAAW 😂
Another beautiful place I haven't been for quite some time. The opening to the tunnel is staggeringly beautiful. It looks like something imagined for a fantasy story. Hard to believe that we can walk around this area and find such places. Quite amazing. I had forgotten all about it until seeing your video. Thanks so much for posting... And I like that you highlighted that sign. I stopped the video and read through. I know our friend North of the border often stops to allow the viewer to read such information. That little bit of information about legging is quite fascinating. If I ever knew about this, I had long forgotten it... Wonderful video. Thank you so much.
Thanks, Jago. I really appreciate your kind support. Just when I think I am going to run out of places to film, I stumble upon little gems like this one. How are things with you? OAAW
@@OutandaboutWalking I don't think you will ever run out of places to film. And even in places you have been a million times, you will always find something that you hadn't really looked at before. What I love about wandering about with a camera is that things reveal themselves to you as if they want to be on film. I've had a busy couple of weeks but I'll be back up and running again soon. It's too enjoyable to share these amazing places to ever slow down. Even if there were only two or three people ever watching the videos, that would be two or three friends taking a walk with you. What a pleasure!
@jagoturner that is so true, also the change of the season can make the same location seem totally different. We are so lucky to have the Cotswolds. That has always been my philosophy...even if just one person watches the video then it was worth recording the walk. Looking forward to much more of your content soon. Have a good weekend.
Thank you for this video. I watch it almost every night for the past few weeks. Due to illness, I am limited in my activity level and am encouraged to rest. I look forward to this walk as it eases my pain and I fall asleep with it running. I wonder…could you walk in the opposite direction with your camera? It would be like getting a completely different viewpoint. Thank you for providing me (and others) the pleasure of visiting ALL the villages you’ve recorded. Stay strong friend!
Hi, Mike. Thank you for your comment. It is good to know that this walk is helpful to you. Yes, I would be very happy to re-walk it again and in the opposite direction for you. I will let you know once I have done it. Sending you, best wishes. Take care. OAAW
@@OutandaboutWalking WOW! I’m so thankful! My wife and I live in Central New York and the Erie Canal runs through our city, Syracuse. There are many towpaths and bike trails. Those are ones I grew up with and am anticipating a full recovery so I’ll be on them again soon! Stay safe and well!
Hi, Mike. I hope you are both keeping well. Just to let you know, as promised I have redone this walk for you in the opposite direction. Hope you enjoy it :). All the best. OAAW
