Floor Jansen is the lady who performs the vocals in the end credits. Keeping in mind this is an actual story that happened it was during the beginnings of WW1 to think after that day they went back to shooting each other again
Actually, one German unit ended up having to retreat from their section in the line, after the German infantry refused to shoot the men they had made friends with the day before.
Your positivity is contagious. LOVE IT!!! So good start for the weekend to come! ....Thank you for continue reacting to Sabaton! ...And by the way Your new studio looks awsome!..Just as yourselves! ...By the way Joakim (the singer) started up as a keyboardist in Sabaton (or actually before they took their new name Sabaton) Best Christmas wishes from Dalarna , Sweden (Sabatonland) (Ooops! You missed that the wonderful end solo was sung by the drummer Hannes Van Dahls wife...a slightly skilled lady called Floor Jansen (Nightwish) ;-)

Yes he plays the piano and was hired as the keyboardist, they asked him to sing till they found a singer...."those lazy bastards never did find a singer" per his quote (LOL)!!!! Great song about a great event that was made possible by the soldiers themselves who were stuck in the snow and frozen mud longing to be home for the Holidays. They found their humanity for a little while in the middle of the insanity, most of them never survived as many were transferred by the generals to make sure they wouldn't survive as punishment for this and it never happened again. A Christmas song...YES but also a remembrance for all those lost to war (11/11 just pasted) and a cry to never forget these people, often never cited in the history book with the "important people" in those dusty pages. Here you experience the same event they did as only Sabaton can do. I recall fallen buddies from firefights and hope they have found the peace that seems to elude us all. The Valkyrie Goddess, Floor singing the Aria during the end credit was chilling, the Valkyrie claiming the fallen from No Mans Land and bringing them home to rest!!! Great reaction and congrats everything is perfect just like the reaction.
That cross still stands at the exact place it was erected in 1914 at the side of a nowadays field, not the original anymore, but a replica. The location is in the middle of what used to be the no man's land during the first battle of Ypres, it is located near Commines-Warneton (Belgium) not far from the French border, not one day passes without fresh flowers, or even footballs being placed at the base of the cross, remembrance counts! Lest we forget
Congratulations on being back! The vid looks fantastic, huge improvement on your old equipment. I love this song! This is the best Sabaton song in my opinion , and the message is appropriate for now. If soldiers in the midst of one of the bloodiest, most brutal wars in history could set aside their differences why can't we? Also it was nice of Hannes' wife to pitch in for closing credit vocals too. What's her name? Oh yeah Floor. She's in this obscure band Nightwish... Great Reaction!
Bit silly to fade out the outro...watch it again and watch till the end - in the credits you will see who you missed! They make these videos that length for a reason!!
I have learned that it was the german side who started to sing Stille Nacht - and soon the brits joined in, after a while the met at no man land the germans brought beers and the brits whisky , the the germans took up a football and soon the game a was on , the result of the many competitions can still be seen to this day as the notes still exist, thanks for a nice reaction

This was a Great reaction but........the ending vocals from Floor should not have been fading, it belongs to the song. Anyway a great reaction. Kind regards from the Netherlands❤❤
Missed the fact that Floor was singing the outro. Love this song because it captures the Brotherhood of Arms that us veterans feel perfectly. Love that you guys felt that connection.
The first music video I saw that mention the christmas truce 1914 was Paul McCartney's "Pipes of peace". Then there's Garth Brooks Belleau Woods too. And you missed that the operatic singing over the credits was Floor.
The new setup is great. This video brings tears to my eyes every time, thinking about the men seeing the absolute horrors and someone says.. it's Christmas... let us all come together at least for a moment. I'm sure others will or have mentioned it, but Hannes's wife did some singing at the end ;).
Sabaton said it best: "It's out! Our first song about peace!" Love this song and the video is mindblowing indeed. Thanx for doing this. On another note, Feuerschwanz is releasing a new video tomorrow (Monday, 6 dec at 5pm) The teaser looks epic, so please jump on that. It's a cover of Manowar's "Warriors of the world" with some epic guests
OMG you turned the volume down on Floor, how could you!!! lol Great Reaction, for more on this topic there is a decent movie (2005) "Joyeux Noel" (Merry Christmas) shows the German, French & British (well a Scottish unit) , sadly when word of these events got out many units were punished and relocated to other sections of the line were the fighting was more savage. and then they made sure on holidays they would launch attacks and such. but the war took a turn and got more deadly esp once GAS started to be used in 1915 some soldier tried to repeat the event of 1914 but were shot .
Joakim did Keyboard and Vocals for the first two albums (Primo Victoria & Metalizer. From the third album (Attero Dominus, 2006) they had a dedicated Keyboard player (Daniel Myhr) to free up Joakim for vocals (and crowd interaction). Then in 2012 (after Carolus Rex, 6th album) two thirds of the band left Sabaton to form the band Civil War, this included Daniel Myhr. Only Joakim and Pär Sundström (Bass) was left, and while they recruited two Guitarist and a Drummer they never replaced the Keyboard player (IE 5 instead of 6 total). Instead Joakim went back to doing the Keyboard in the studio, I assume they use the studio keyboard track for Live performances given that except for The Red Baron there's no keyboard on the scene.
As someone from the UK many of us are aware of this happening but only on the first Christmas. There is an incredible song with animation by Sabaton based on a very emotional event in WW 2 called NO BULLETS FLY.
On parts of the frontline there was pockets of peace in 1915 too, but it wasn't as spread as in 1914. Remember, everyone thought that the war would be over by Christmas 1914. They politicians had told them so.
First: the video looks and sounds great. Second: Watch it again and enjoy the beautiful outro vocals. Third: I believe the reason Sabaton puts so much into their videos/songs is they are relating true events about real people who deserve to have it done right. Pär carving '2021' into the memorial cross after illuminating 'Lest We Forget' says volumes without having to say volumes. Love your reactions and this is a great welcome back!
I thought the carving of 2021 was meant as sort of a "we still remember" moment. But Elizabeth's (Charismatic Voice) idea was it was that is was Sabaton's Christmas wish for the world this year. I really like that idea.

Right after they erected the wooden cross, you can hear some faint artillery salvos in the distance. Those are the salvos that were used to disperse the soldiers and end the truce, at the orders of their own respective generals. Some where punished. The lucky ones only got relocated, assigned to other companies or on the Eastern Front. Still, this truce is what makes me refer to World War One as "the last war of the gentlemen". As you've seen from No Bullets Fly, chivalry persisted in isolated cases (Franz Stigler, or Walther Wenck from the song 'Hearts of Iron'), but never before or after was there an entire frontline deciding to have such a ceasefire.
3:03 There were alot that actually were. Lots of of kids actually lied about their age to make them older so they could enlist. They think around 250,000 kids, some as young as 14 lied to join the army.

Good thing you got your early X-mas present from us fans/subs. I didn't have any part on that, but i wanna thank those who were. Songs and Thongs continues. 😉
II'm certainly not an emotional guy, but this song gets me. Perhaps that is the most important message, that christmas time have. Friendship and humanity for all man kind. This Video is, in my opinion, one of the best, so far. I've heard it 3 times in a row. Great, great, great!
Since I didn't see anyone bring up the history on this (and I don't know if you watched sabaton's history episode on the song) Sadly, it was an truce made by the soldiers, not any commanders or generals. It was first invoked by the pope asking just for the 1 day, everyone respect the birth of Christ and not fight. He was essentially told to fuck off, sadly. However, throughout the Western Front there were many truces by soldiers as it was normal (especially for collecting the dead) and it was a holiday for both sides, so many spots along the front stopped due to that, singing songs, playing soccer, etc, though some areas continued fighting. (Which was shown in the video as the troops could hear explosions and gunfire causing them to look around at that point in the song) The longest truce during the christmas truce lasted 5 days while the shortest was just for Christmas eve, and in many areas, the soldiers on both sides refused to fire on the other side afterward, the people they now considered friends (and brothers) and were either executed, moved elsewhere or court-martialed. Very, very few of them survived until the end of WW1. And while media (in Britain) tried to make this known (the christmas truce), it was quickly stopped by the government. And the generals ensured that no such truce happened again, by ordering artillery to continue on holidays, nonstop.
That cross represents one that's actually in Belgium at the site of one of the battlefields from WW1. The wording on the actual cross is very similar to the one in this video.
3:47 According to an interview Joakim was originally hired to play keyboard - and then asked if he could sing until they found an "actual" lead singer - which in the end they never bothered looking for.
You shouldn't have talked over Floor and the end credits. Other than that, a great reaction to what was my favourite Christmas song of all time, until I heard Dan Vasc's Angels We Have Heard On High, released on Thursday, December 16this year. Please do a reaction to that.
Agreed 100% with what you said at the end and how you interpreted the song. It's not a whole lot to ask for just one day a year where we all say fuck it and just show some humanity to one another. It would be great if we could do that year round, but baby steps, I guess.
"24. December 1914: Late on Christmas Eve, the British Expeditionary Force heard the German troops singing Christmas carols in the trenches opposite and saw lanterns and small Christmas trees along the trenches. Messages were shouted to each other between the trenches. The next day, British and German soldiers met and exchanged gifts, took photos and some even played soccer. It was a rare but magical moment of peace and harmony in the midst of one of the most gruesome events of the 20th century. "
Good song writing is being able to connect with folks and they are able to have reactions which completely gloss over epic lines like "We carried the war on our shoulders. For our nations, is that why we bury our friends?" That line completely floors me (pun intended) and has stuck with me in my journey through this song.
I also forgot to mention you've reacted to Royal Guard, Steel Commanders, Kingdom Come, and Christmas Truce now which are the most recent Sabaton releases but you haven't reacted to Defence of Moscow yet
Sabaton: we need a majestic / soprano vocalist to sing the outro credits ?
Hannes: I know someone.

Since I didn't see anyone bring up the history on this (and I don't know if you watched sabaton's history episode on the song)
Sadly, it was an truce made by the soldiers, not any commanders or generals.

Hannes hugging Chris always breaks my heart.
The videos are supposed to be watched till the end. You missed Floor's outro.
I am little sad that you not hear that Floor sing the last Voice in this Video.
welcome back !!!
Agora tem mais validade a perfeita canção do Sabaton...
Woohoo we are back and back with SABATON fucking heel yeah
This did realy happen in WW1 day did stop fighting for Christmas. And at the end you hear Floor
Just so you know, this song is based on the real life event of 1914 WW1 Christmas Truce
Welcome back, guys!
So sad you didn't notice that it was actually Floor singing while the credits rolled.
Welcome back guys 😃
More Sabaton! Please!!
Hannes and Floor in 1 Musik Video !!!! Super !! Hannes is Floor s Men :-)
Good song writing is being able to connect with folks and they are able to have reactions which completely gloss over epic lines like "We carried the war on our shoulders.
