Why do scooters have small wheels?
I can't find these tires ANYWHERE even though Michelin says they make my size (130/60-13)
@@heibaimao Agility. Smaller tires = less rotational mass = easier to turn. Also scooters don't usually get to high speeds so don't need that much stability. Sweet spot is usually around 50-70 kph.
Just noticed these directional tires were put on wrong by the tire shop. Will it make a difference and could there have internal damage been done to the tire?
this is not a review but an introduction
I'm on my 2nd set of cg2. I do 5k miles a month. So much better than cg1.
Even on wet corners feels planted 😁
so how powerful is your bike and how many miles can one set last?
How is the longevity sir?
@danb2936
This is no review.
Rather a product placement.
I have city grip 1 on my Grom (not a scooter, small moto).. Liked it, but then again, anything is better than stock on groms!
Preach🙏🏻 I used to have a grom & The stock tyres were awful, couldn’t even go round a bend in the rain without the back end slipping out
since the front is a 120 and the rear is a 130, how do i go about ordering a set? do i use the front size, 120? or do i use the rear size, 130?
Pirelli Angel scooter got me to work 20 minutes faster than the city Grip.
Can explain in detail? Thanks.
Had both these designs and are okay for longevity but no so in the wet and the design seems to collect punctures far more easily than the pilot series I have now which also are softer and grip well especially when rear braking
Pilots are great but don’t last that long when used on the rear.
Don't review if u don't know anything..tq
Which is better, cg2 or pirelli angel scooter?
I mean, I’m looking at Pirelli’s Diablo Rosso at the moment (RevZilla) because it’s the only one in my size available. However I’m really loving the favorable comments on this thread about city group one and city group to given that my biggest concern is grip on wet surfaces here in Honolulu Hawaii. My Kymco Like 150i stock tires are terrible like some of the viewers here talking about their Graham stock tires. Feels crazy dangerous
I think City Grip 1 is done for and not made anymore. Everyone online Revzilla or Bike Bandit sizes are out of stock.
My dealer started getting 2s by default earlier this year. Sounds like a replacement
They are on sale now
Best tire ever
That is what i'm gonna buy this weekend for my Scooter.
Did you get them?
Yes.. and my Expectations Paid of‼️ Specially at wet condition. I tried everything to City Grip, and it doesn't disappoint me 😊🇵🇭
It Really Grips when you needed it. 😊
I'll compare the IRC tires that were OEM with the Yamaha Aerox. The ride seems about the same. The City Grip 2 is more suseptible to what I call "Steering of the tire" were the road gaps or surface can slightly change the tires direction. Same route during most days and CG2 seem to have less rolling resistance and I receive slightly better fuel economy. Because of the shape of the CG2 they turn more easily and grip the turns well. I am uncertain about traction of multiple surfaces as I have no desire to test the limits.
What is the best street-legal scooter tire in terms of grip for use in dry, warm, tropical weather (20-35C), in speeds up to 60-70 km/h? I don't care about price and durability. I want the tire to warm fast and maintain performance during its life span. I am not riding in rain.
You can try pirelli diablo rosso
this one for sure,it's better than pirelli i think
Bridgestone Battlax
Very expensive. In Germany you pay 50 Euro
De amerikanen are idioten
Love these on my Grom (not a scooter, technically a motorcycle). Either way, good all weather performance.
Downside limited sizes available, I can't have 100/90-12 for my front wheel.
Fantastic tyres. I do deliveries on my Burgman 200 with these tyres. Rain or shine they're great.
Would the 120/70-12 and a 100/90-14 tires fit on my syx moto 125cc pit bike with its rim and tubes plz help ?!?
intro: i am going to "break down cg 2". sunbliminal or what it is not good for tires or parts
I had this tire on my Vario and it's really good for cornering and on wet roads
Honda Vario 150?
@@emlitpantonial the 125cc engine
May I know the size of tire front and rear did you get? We have the same scooter and planning to buy CG2
I have city grip 1 and find them excellent. Just wondering, should i have scooter tires balanced?
Any shop that installs your tires should be balancing them by default.
Need a pair of these for my new to me 2018 Honda PCX. HELP
Ile nowa ma bierznika 130/70 12
My City Grips 1, developed cracks in the sidewalls. Since I check pressure regularly, but have a lot of potholes and manhole covers that are 4" deep, so I figured it was from them. Went with the City Grip 2, and hope I can get full life out of them...
How did you go with them?
Check the tire for expiration. Some claimed “long life” tires don’t easily wear on the contact patch but they crack on the sides for a period of time.
Any Update?
Typical Michelin, crack before it’s worn-out.
Now on my second pair of CG1s (my 2015 Vespa GTS300 Super came with them stock): good balance of multi-season control and longevity. Will eventually switch to the CG2s "just to see."
How many mileage have you done on them?
@@chrisw4215 About 9,000 miles on the rear tire, 13,000 on the front.
@@barrettwbenton that's impressive, are you happy from driving in the wet condition?
@@chrisw4215 So far, yes...I've ridden in the rain more often than I'd like to think about (including today), and the bike/tire combination has been very well-behaved.
@@barrettwbenton Just bought CG2. Huge difference when riding in the wet condition compared to my previous tyres. Hope they will last long
I have a zuma 125, how many miles can I get with the michelin city grip and normal driving habits?
I can’t find my size in those can you help me 80/100/10
Questions can I use 120/70-14 front/rear tire, for the front?
Honda nss300 2015
thx on the video, any tires suggestion for cold temperature? (colorado) thx
I would love a rough Idea of how many miles I can get out of a rear tire.
can you get like a really wide tire to a ape 50?
I have this 4 my sym orbit. Rear. In front the bopper. Feels great
Are these puncture resistant like the city extra?
Is this soft compound or dual?
i dont think tires at this size are dual compound, you have to go up to a full size moto tire for that. And even then, thats usually just in the rear. The city grip 2 seems to be front/rear agnostic, which another difference from the first gen City Grip.
I don't know about the 2s but the city grip 1 was terrible.
Why? I just put the grip 1 on my Honda Forza and they feel great. Soft, good grip, comfortable, agile.
@@calgary2800 I put 2 sets on my yamaha xmax, they are dangerous in the rain and they wear very fast.
@@paokmaxites The best scooter tire ever imo is the 1st edition Pirelli Diablo, I have tried the latest Pirellis Scooter tires and both are not as good as the older ones. Too stiff of a ride quality and not as fast turning. I guess Pirelli went for more stability in the straights. I may try Conti next.
I don't know why you had bad luck with the City Grip 1 tires. I put them on my 2013 Honda PCX 150 back in January and still have good tread on them. I live in upstate NY and my PCX is my only form of transportation. I ride in all weather conditions and have put over 3,000 miles on my tires
@@jaygarren1 I don't know maybe its because my xmax is much heavier. Since you ride all year round like me you should try Heidenau all season tires.
City grip or boppers?
Maxxis or Dunlope
Berf
I can't wait to put a set on my Diavel.
Do you guys own a durometer, and if so what did you get for readings, and if not, why not?
I really have liked my grips.
I just have it my scooter, Michelin City Grip Pro, and it was Marvelous and Fan in any terrain.
And really grip in Wet and Dry, and i don't slip. Love it‼️😊
