Hi Michael, I really can't understand your aversion to clear blue skies. That's what Crete is all about! Blue skies, blue-green sea, etc. That and the warmth of the people is why so many people fall in love with the island and return again and again. By going for cloudy skies, the photos at 6:05, 7:54 and 9:41 look more like they were taken in Scotland than on Crete. I spend a lot of time on Crete each year, as I have a second home here, so I know the island quite well. Also, you could have come to a traditional Cretan village like Limnes, close to Agios Nikolaos, to get some fantastic shots of urban decay in the old stone houses that have been left for many years, alongside others that have either been refurbished or have been well taken care of over the years. Sorry, but just my take on things.
Nice vlog and beautiful familiar places. To me personally blue skies and more distant elevated views toward the open sea would also mean moody night- and starscapes.
I actually wanted to photograph the Milky Way but then realized the full moon was moving nearly in sync with the galactic center ;-) Also, for me starscapes are always a bit hard to plan, because I'd be dead the folowing day and my girlfriend wouldnt like that *gg*
Love how you stay upbeat and look for opportunities despite the challenging conditions! The audio was surprisingly good in the wind and your hair provided some great comic relief in a somewhat dangerous-looking setting! Beautiful location for sure.
If it’s very windy, you’re better off handholding than using a tripod in non blue hour situations. The ibis can’t handle tripod vibrations well but can handle the sway of handholding much more easily… even iso 800 will be fine for most prints with a bit of noise reduction.
@@mibreit-photo the city is Patras and has a nice view of a mountain called Paliovouna. Sun sets behind the mountain. Super golden. Aiming to take a picture too. Have to find a high spot which are plenty around the area.

Haha yea the hair is hard to control in wind. Had the Dji Mic under my jacket and it worked better than I thought

Love Crete. Been there couple of times at exact same places)
Nice presentation, good tips. I appreciate your diligence.
I’m in Greece too at the moment in my hometown. Feel free to come by. One of the best sunsets and amazing scenery. I can drive you around to scout
Whats your hometown? Maybe it is in our Route ;-)
