During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

This car is wildly underrated because of its size. Its actually one of the most satisfying daily driver that you can bring to the track for under 45,000$ used. I scoffed at it but when i test drove it and saw how much luxury was packed into this car, along with the gas savng thing it was a np brainer
Baby SL with big boy power! Love it!!!
I can still say it's the best engine ever. I have my 55 for 3 years now. some cooling pipe O-rings replaced, the line feed at the back of cylinder head with a newer part and all just fine. also the exhaust flap problem sorted. great car.

I seen that exact car, hard top. Completely totaled off the Sunset Blvd exit on the 101 south by 93-95 Honda Accord. That Accord.... Slight dent on the door, broken windows
a lot of cars seem to be doing away with the stick shift. =(
+Will Lowe a buddy once told me having the top down and cruising without worrying of shifting is the relaxing cruise experiance in a roadster
Cool now I know how to rev the engine, but wait what does this button do on the steering wheel???? Oh well at least I know how to rev the engine 🙃

The SLK 55 was my first presscar from Mercedes and soooo much fun to drive and review. Always great to see a new video of this car, they are pretty rare here in germany compared to Boxsters and Z4s. Most people buy the 350 or even 200, but that's a completly different driving exoperience to the 55 :) Great video as always, Kyle ! ***** !

350 with the v6 is also lovely driving! Over 200km/h over the autobahn is really fun, and with your roof down in the alps is the best experience! Never go for the 4 cilinder!

Very much enjoyed the tour. I have one purchased in '16. It is a BLAST to drive. But the steering is much heavier than the SLK 350 previously driven. Ultimately, for me, the 350 handles better on windy roads and accelerates fine, but the 55 moves. Recommend it.
Love the start up sound - even the tach goes beyond redline for effect. Likely ticks of the neighbors. I don't care.
Sport mode is great fun. Especially with the top down (mostly it is; CA car).
Would prefer an SL but garage space in old buildings is somewhat narrow. Best garage ever! Saves lots of money.
Charlessss, I'm going to test that driving theory. I drove an R172 350 for two years and will own an R172 55 in a few days. Taking it on some very windy roads

I find it amazing and baffled by the fact that Halogens are still standard in a Benz
Especially since this isn't even the base model. What a bunch of bullshit if I'm paying close to or over 100k for a car I would expect certain features to be standard

Dude ***** i think the car is beautiful but i wish it wasn't so short in the wheelbase. Do you agree because i think it makes it look stubby. Other than that i love it. Keep the greatness coming ! :)

My dad has an e55t Amg its great
E55 is still good but e63 is real AMG
All I want is the engine, seats and maybe wheels. Not a fan of the styling, but probably quite fun to drive.
I really don't like Mercedes' decision to retire the 6.2 V8 (one of the best engines ever) but what an engine to replace it with. I've heard the turbocharged version in the E63 in real life and it gives an awesome bassy rumbling grunt. That was just a slow acceleration too.
6.2 have problems. the 5.5 bi-turbo is much more robust and reliable. but lately, they only make the SL 5.5 and 63,both have the 4 liter V8 burbo

I love the cars you do videos on because they aren't exactly the kind of cars you would be able to get an in depth 'review' in real life unless you are rich or are watching Top Gear. Now, the reason I put the word 'review' in quotes is because they don't seem like so much a review as they are something you say in every car before it. It's like you are reading off the brochure or something. Give us your likes/dislikes, pros/cons, and just general opinionated reviews. I just feel every video's 'review' is a rehash of the previous with just a different car to sit in. Make the videos a little more dynamic.
Still shocked Mercedes shipped g63s and slk55 with halogen lamps as standard equipment up until 2019...

they should make a 2008 Mercedes benz NS-350 and NS-150 truck w/ the engine choices of a M-2SR 2.5 liter turbo diesel 19 valve naturally aspirated 4 cylinder 35 MPG city 35 highway 15 gallon tank w/ independent rear suspension, w/ a 5 speed manual putting out 191 HP at 500 rpm, in 2010 an M-1R 3.6 liter all aluminum DOHC 30 valve turbo diesel inline 6 cylinder or a 260 hp MRS-4 2.4 liter turbo charged 22 valve inline 4
Good review but there is one major mistake. The R172 SLK55 AMG Does Not have the MCT Transmission it has a traditional torque converter.
