    In my pack I always have a small para-material hammock. To secure that hammock I use 2 Cam Buckle Straps (pull tight ratchet straps). They support 500lbs each, I also use them to change a tube on the bike. I park next to a tree and put a cam-buckle on each side of the handle bars to a branch above, Or on my rear racks. Dual purpose and seems to be all I will need.

      I guess it wouldn't happen often, but what if there are no trees around?

    I have both the Rolling Maverick trail stand and some Asahi spanners, i even had to use them both when i got a front flat Tyre on my Africa Twin 1100 just the other day, i glued a bit of rubber on the "T" part of the stand to protect the bike and stop it sliding off. Both great products and worth the $$$

    Nice bit a bling. But for $100......I think I'll stick with the ol' piece of rope (which is also the tow rope). Weighs nothing, packs to almost nothing. And hasn't failed me in 30+years👍👍

    • @MVDBR
      @MVDBR  Год назад +1

      How do you use a plain old bit of rope? Just sling it over a tree branch and have at it?

    • @bradjones2219
      @bradjones2219 Год назад +2

      @@MVDBR Get ya sidestand close to a tree/post whatever. Sling the rope around the tree, and to the opposite side of bars for front. I use rack for rear. Some bikes are more"challenging" to find rear points! But we've always worked something out. ARiemann1 did a vid on RUclips not to long ago. He uses a camlock tiedown(which would be easier to use for this, but not so much towing). It's pretty easy really. No more effort than your trail stand, or the pretty one. I really like your stand, and if I did have a pair a crutches lying around(I seem to only break arms🤣) I would defs make one👍 Because it would be quicker I think.

  • @DollyAndFamilyGetOutAndRide
    @DollyAndFamilyGetOutAndRide Год назад +1

    I love the one you made and I plan on making one as well, I think that the weight is okay and they look like they would be stronger for my heavy bike. Plus you can pick those crutches up at any second hand store and they don't cost that much. And the rubber piece on the crutches makes a big difference it will grip anything wherever you're are.
