    My gut feeling is that traditional surfboards will always retain a huge following the same way it's human nature to enjoy a real fire vs a dynamically superior gas fire. It's that analogue vs digital thing. There's just something nice about a floating plank. I think the hydrofoils give you an addictive and unquestionably lovely but very different 'connection'. I bet they're ace, frankly, but I wonder if they feel the same in your surfing soul when you're just waiting for your set, chatting away, you know, chilling out, watching the horizon.

      They're not impossible at all. As long as the wave is steep enough, you just catch it like you would surfing. How would you get going again, if you were to fall off?
    Is a towing vehicle needed, or can the hydrofoiling be initiated simply by catching one of these oncoming waves?

    Its my first time to see and know foiling in this video. Perhaps its more difficult to learn than surfing. (Im not a surfer.. ) I watch these surfers during sunsets in Bali. I wish i can get to watch people who are foiling. Its like skating and dancing on the waters effortlessly. 🎉

    Killing it. Wow 🤩 as someone literally two days in this is mind blowing. Can’t wait to get the ski going and tow into some swells. Little mush waves are definitely good to start but stoked for some conditions like this. Even with 20 plus years surfing this is hardest water sport I’ve ever gotten into.

      How is your prone foiling going? I am 14 months in as of 7/23. Starting to feel solid on the feet and more efficient at pumping. I haven't gotten multiple waves just yet but I feel like it's just a few weeks away. btw, I'm 55 so I don't progress as quickly as I used to. lol

      There are e foils out there which you can use on flat water but this is using the energy from a swell line by riding down the wave and creating lift with the foil

    The challenge is finding a place devoid of swimmers, divers, snorkelers, and potentially underwater wildlife and reefs. I can’t imagine getting hit by the hydrofoil at speed results in a good outcome.

    • @KeahideAboitiz1
      @KeahideAboitiz1  Год назад

      Definitely worth talking about and I don't agree with people trying to ride these in crowded lineups. The beauty of foiling is you can ride a small mushy waves and wind swell that no one would want to surf anyway

      😂 Basically it follows the same principles as airplane wings creating lift. Being underwater with more drag, you can get away with a relatively small wing and as long as you have that angled swell keeping you moving forward. You have to balance the foil by shifting your weight over the board but truly is an amazing feeling once you work it out!
