    Oh, my gosh! I LOVE this video. Thank you so much. And I love how you mentioned about how trends come and go. These thick, caterpillar eyebrows will be out of style in 5 years. :) Also, like you, I am a post-90's overplucker. And, along with taking meds for my RA, my brows have thinned and fallen out. I have been wanting to do my own brows for so long, this video is exactly what I needed. Thank you!!

    • @JeniferJenkinsBeauty
      @JeniferJenkinsBeauty  4 года назад +4

      Rhonda Quintero I agree! I feel like I’m already seeing less emphasis on super thick brows. All it takes is one popular celebrity to sport a thinner brow and it will become the latest trend. Lol! 🤪😘

    I'm going to be trying this today, I lost some of my brows due to chemo, they never grew in right so I purchased the silver pen and I hope it works for me like it did on yours. Your a great inspiration!

    Great info and if you feel confident doing it yourself and you have had good results, then by all means keep doing it! I recommend going thicker...adding volume to the top of the brow, especially at the ends.

    I just found your channel and I’m loving all
    of your videos. I am 42 and also suffer with hypothyroidism. You are so brave to do this on your own!! I had microblading and don’t like it at all. Fortunately, it has faded considerably in the last couple of years and is hardly noticeable. Keep making videos. You are a joy to watch!!

    I agree with you completely about when someone else makes the mistake (and you're paying), verses you doing it. I have been cutting my own hair since a huge botch job a year ago. Also, I had my brows tatooed and paid a pretty penny and all I have to show for it is scar tissue and out of a lot of money. I have no color and no hair barely grows now! Sucks

    Thank you for this tutorial! I had mine done professionally and they messed up one side. Now I look like I am always raising one eyebrow. I am going to make a few "adjustments" on my own and even things up! Love your videos!

    I too, was an over-plucker when I was younger, and my dark hair means I have to pluck more often than some of you, and I’ve always wanted to get this done, but really nervous ! I really would love to get permanent eyeliner, but really afraid of getting that area done. It sure would save a LOT of time getting ready for work !

    You are one BRAVE lady. I had my eyebrows tatooed about 14 years ago and I HATED them. They turned a purple-gray color and I had to have them touched up almost yearly. I've always thought to myself...why don't they do individual strokes that replicate hair and last year I found someone that does just that. She tried to correct the color fade out first then overlayed with strokes and widened them just enough that I love them now. I still touch up with powder as the color from the years and years of the wrong color still show through. I can at least live with them now. Yours look amazing...good job!

    • @JeniferJenkinsBeauty
      @JeniferJenkinsBeauty  7 лет назад

      So glad you like them now 😊 Out of curiosity what was wrong with the color? Like I said in the video, I would always avoid colors with the word "black" in them. Black tends to change colors (green, blue, gray).

    • @cathyinmt
      @cathyinmt 7 лет назад

      Since I was at the mercy of the artist...and I use that term loosely...I don't know what color they used. I have to say that in all those years of touchups I went to probably 3 different people. So that being said...I wasn't in on the color choices. The color is so ingrained I don't think they will ever NOT be gray. Oh well...hopefully someone reads this and does their research well.

    I don't have a need for this, but watched the whole thing lol. I found it so interesting and you're so brave. You do a fantastic job! You should start your own in home eyebrow tattoo business. I know that would even be more scarier doing other people's eyebrows though. You look beautiful with your eyebrow shape, works great on your face and I agree eyebrow thickness changes so quickly on what is in style. Lots of love❤~Holly

      @dmlkcs8620 7 лет назад

      Jenifer, the answer is yes to all of them. I had mine done by one of the pioneers of permanent makeup. His work was truly amazing! I had my eyebrows, some eyeshadow, top & bottom eyeliner and full lips done. The only one I personally would recommend (and would do again if needed) is the eyeliner, mine still looks like it was just done except the color is more blue then black. Love my eyeliner! The rest, especially the eyebrows, I wish I had never done but that's just me. You did a great job on yours as you followed your natural brow shape. Also, you can keep up with it and adjust it as you age because you can do it yourself.

  • @fertilityqueen7880
    @fertilityqueen7880 5 лет назад +1

    I think you did a great job just be careful with the oils, it's just best to use petroleum / A&D jelly because some oils that penetrate can cause migration of color, and that color can bleed into other parts of the dermis. You can add a little bit of an ashy green (olive pure pigment) base to get rid of that reddish tone.
    I'm a certified semi permanent make-up artist.

    You Rock!! I have a question. I tried doing my eyebrows at home and for some reason the ink didn’t take it. I did it with black ink. At first I used L1
    needle but I feel like it was
    not showing the outline so I used MR3. That works better. Still after it crack. The whole ink came off with it. What do you think I did wrong?

      Sarah Stroud I had mine done about a month ago and it was scary! With me I had barely any and it was quite a change. It was also darker than what I imagined. But over 2 weeks the brows healed and the color was at half what it was when applied. I am going for my touch up in about a week and I am very happy with them.

    • @Katya2U
      @Katya2U 4 года назад +1

      Hi there, Sarah. Soooo...I had my eyebrows tattooed (not microbladed) several times and microbladed once. Here's what I think: even they used a tattoo pen or gun, if you wish, the tattoo lasted SO much longer. And it was SOOOO much less painful than microblading. Microblading was very painful, even with a numbing cream on and being applied through out the procedure and you could hear that scratching noise (😱😳) and they didn't last looking good (the eyebrows) for more than a year and half, I'd say. Soooo NOT with the pain and money. If you have your eyebrows tattooed a hair stroke technique, that's what I did, they'll look beautiful for I'd say at least 4 years, before you'd need any touch up. Also do NOT be scared to hiiiii much much darker AND I'd say at least twice wider than what you'd want your eyebrows to look like after they heal. Trust me. I could send you couple pictures of what mine looked like RIGHT after and like 10 days later. Hope this helped. So no to microblading👎 YES to a tattoo👍

  • @amber_Forever16
    @amber_Forever16 3 года назад

    You can use a dr pen/ derma pen! They make 1r 3r 5r etc size needles for them. If you have a dr pen already just get needles, if you don’t then the tattoo pen is cheaper but if you get a dr pen /derma pen you can use it for microneedling your face!! So it’s not a one time use thing and they last a long time! Also the cheapest place to get them is eBay! If in the USA then make sure it’s a us seller!

      I have 3 artificial prodisc implants in my neck and low back. Any person with total joint replacement or artificial heart valve needs to be premedicated for even a dental cleaning. We are at higher risk for infection because bacteria could travel in the blood to the site of a prosthetic device. I told my surgeon that I was going to get a tattoo to cover the scar on my belly and he said, "Not a good idea to risk your life for a tattoo." I am glad I told him because I would never have known :-) I have always wanted to get permanent makeup tattoos so I will just live vicariously through you XOXO

      I had it done in july, and the refill a month and a half later. The refill is standard procedures, and next time will be about a year, the lady in the salon said. It will fade out gradually, so I have no idea how soon it actually will dissapper. Anyhow, it is so worth it, not have to do all the eyebrow makeup in the morning, and save me a lot of time. And best of all, knowing my brows look good and 'in place' throughout the day 😄How often do you have to do touch up?

    You’ve got guts for trying this but I feel that it’s something I could do as well. I actually got mine done about a year ago and had them powder tattoo’d. I did a lot of research before I settled on the gal who did mine and I have to say that she’s absolutely amazing. They look like my own brows but just taken up a notch and I can go without any products in mine but like you choose to add something as well. Heck, they look so natural that my husband hasn’t even noticed! If you look back on my old videos or search it you’ll see my first time and then a second video after I had my touchup.
    I think that when it comes to reviews that you read it’s the people who are unhappy that tend to leave a review and the happy ones just go on with life. I thought I wanted the microbladed brows at first but after seeing her work, I fell in love with her style of tattooing. If any one lives in the Portland, Oregon area look up Jein King and you’ll see what I mean. She’s booked up in advance too so be prepared for a wait.
    Again I’m at that one year mark and I don’t feel like I need to go in anytime soon to get them touched up but I do love them. Now you have me thinking about trying it myself since I can just fill them in.

      Oh that's awesome! If I were going to get them professionally done I would've gotten the powder tattoo technique as well. I think the hair stroke microblading technique looks incredible, but I've read that it requires a lot of touch ups to keep it looking like individual hair strokes. I think you're right about the disgruntled being more likely to express themselves online. I'm going to go check out your videos! I'm so glad you're happy with the results! 😊

    Thanks for all the helpful information. I have done this before but by hand. I was wondering about a machine and think I may invest in one. Next time you do a touchup, try using manuka honey (with the highest bio activity score you can find) to keep your eyebrows moist. As I mentioned, I did mine by hand and used the honey. I healed faster and my brows stayed nice and moist without looking super greasy. Thanks again!

    Jennifer - are you using real tattoo ink or do you use the same kind of stuff that is used for microblading? How often do you have to go over the areas you have tattooed? One thing I do not like about microblading is that you have to do it every year or so .....

    Great video! I'm like you I try to do my own grooming and beautifying (highlight, pedicure & manicure, skin care) , because I'm more forgiven toward myself if I mess up :) and I want to do this . I have question thought: do you shave your eyebrows before applying the tattoo? can you tattoo while the hair still there?

  • @MrsBungle78
    @MrsBungle78 7 лет назад

    I've had 2 bad experiences with other people doing my brows so I've wanted to do it myself for years! I've just never taken the plunge! I'm one of those people- I learned (at an accredited school) to do acrylics, gel nails because I was sick of the hacks in most salons & will basically learn to do anything that I need done so that I don't have to rely on other people who may not be good at their job or even just having a bad day (cos you can guarantee that that's the day I will walk in!). Like you, I don't want to do anything drastic, I just want to fill in the sparse hairs so that I can go without doing some sort of makeup every damn day! Lol! I have a friend who is an amazingly talented tattooist so I've also considered asking him to do it for me. I know that he has a lot more experience (he's been tattooing all day, every day for 15-20 years) than these beauticians who took a quick course.

    • @JeniferJenkinsBeauty
      @JeniferJenkinsBeauty  7 лет назад

      Oh no! I'm curious to know what you didn't like about your past experiences. But that's exactly why I took matters into my own hands. I was too afraid someone else wouldn't get my "vision" or understand that I wanted to keep my natural shape and not do their own thing, or do whatever is trending at the moment. Lord knows we've ALL had a bad haircut at some point for those reasons. And although it was really scary (because it's permanent) and a little painful, I had so much room for error, I wasn't too worried about messing things up. 😊 I bet your tattoo artist friend could do a fantastic job! But just be sure you use ink that is meant for the face. 💗

    Thank you so much for doing this! I have really been thinking about doing it, but I've wanted to see it done. Like you I'm a product of over plucking, hair loss due to thyroid disease and aging. The front part is extremely sparse, with gray hairs mixed it, and I'm pretty much missing my tail all together. I think the shape you do is perfect. I agree that the way trends change I wouldn't want to do anything extreme. At 51 I like my eyebrows on the thinner side anyway. I don't mind adding a little pencil, but I'm having to recreate my whole brow every day. When I mentioned doing this my husband freaked out. Did you have to convince your husband that it was safe?
    How often do you have to touch up? On the usual pain scale of 1-10 where was it? Since I don't have a tail do you think it would be OK to pencil on my shape first, or would you recommend free handing it?
    I really appreciate you doing this! I happen to really like your brows!

    • @JeniferJenkinsBeauty
      @JeniferJenkinsBeauty  7 лет назад

      Lol! That's a good question! My husband has never once tried to discourage me from doing it. But I've also been extremely conservative each time. I think that if I had ever emerged from the bathroom with a totally different shape...or eyebrows much larger than he's used to seeing me with, he may have stepped in. But I don't think he notices the difference much. He says it just looks like I've "colored" them in like I always do with make up. Which is exactly what I was going for. 😊 And it's funny that you should say that about liking yours on the thinner side. When I have drawn mine on thicker to see how they would look, I feel as if the thicker eyebrows didn't go with my "aging" face. I know I'm in the minority here, but that's just the way that I felt about them on ME. 💗

    I found your video very informative. I to have thyroid disease which I ignored for several years. The pay back was I lost most of my hair on my head, all the hair on my body (no shaving, guess this is a plus). However my brows that use to be so thick are hardly there. My hair is mostly white on my head and the only color that works with this is a medium to light gray. Much of the brow hairs are white to gray and very sparse. That is extremely hard to find a pencil to use. I tried all colors and with my white with a little gray head hair, looked horrible with any other color other than a gray. However, most of the gray pencils are a dark gray which looks almost black on me. This procedure seems like something I could do since I basically draw my brows on everyday. On your links I didn't see any gray. Have you heard of any color that will turn out as med gray?

      Bactericide is a medication you need to keep infection away. Also, cleaning everything with watered down bleach is better than alcohol. If using alcohol, use 90% alcohol. If using water to dilute, always use distilled to avoid bacteria. 🙏🏻
