literally everyone misses the joke of that scene. The dog is literally holding a single bone, that's a normal attack. So papyrus thinks the dog has his special attack, so when he uses his "normal attack," THAT'S his special attack.
Papyrus DEFINITELY has a gaster blaster. In the aborted genocide route, if you decide to do the papyrus date, and interact with the box in the corner of the room, Papyrus roughly says: “I’m glad you changed your mind, you would’ve been blasted to…” and then cuts off, talking about something else.
But he could be talking about sans, the guy we know for a fact can blast people

Sans' last attack is Papyrus' special attack. If it is, that would explain why Sans can't kill you by throwing you around: because Papyrus designed it to capture, not kill.

You know Paps is really powerful if Flowey not only uses 4 vines for him, but only uses 2 for Sans even though he’s been at the forefront of his powers. It might’ve been something in one of Flowey’s genocides, since he could start the genocide from anywhere in the Underground. So it’s likely he killed his way to Snowdin and Sans might’ve actually died if he tried enough. And then Papyrus kicked his ass Disbelief-style. Flowey never bothered messing with Papyrus again.

To expand on your headcanon, Flowey in the genocide route goes on about how he tried and did everything with all of his resets, even mentioning "winning every game and losing every game." He might have actually managed to beat Papyrus once, but after a "player vs Sans" amount of resets (a shitload) he was like "I'm never doing that shit EVER again" and doubled how many vines he used to trap Pap out of PTSD

In Papyrus' battle, he is almost MOTIONLESS. He is actively exhibiting control. In the dating scene however, he is very emotive.
There's also that thing that no matter how much defense you have, he'll always do at least 3 damage

Another thing that could prove this theory even more is that during the Undyne hangout when she's talking about getting Papyrus into the royal guard she says that she can't let him in because he's too nice, but also she says that Papyrus pretty freaking tough, and that's coming from Undyne, just another thing to improve on the theory.

@@tamamtamam8646 when someone says "tough fight" it means the fight was hard, so high defence and high attack, if it was just high defence but bad attack it would be just "annoying fight", and also papyrus changes his stats in pacifist and genocide, and always deals 3 damage in his fight no matter the armor you have (even temmie armor)
If you give Papyrus a reason to fight you, HE WILL. He's kind and forgiving, but not afraid to defend himself.
Head cannon: Toby/Annoying dog purposefully stole Papyrus's special attack to keep the game fair as his special attack is so strong it would throw the balance out of wack

Another minor detail to note, the monsters in Undertale during battle have an idle animation that represents their efforts and determination to kill you as in "how hard they're trying" the more the enemy is moving or shaking the more they're trying their hardest to take you down, and this goes for every monster in the underground logically, except for Papyrus for he NEVER moves during his fight like a statue which indicates that he's not even trying to beat you , he's literally not breaking a sweat attacking you and controlling his magic during his whole fight while other powerful monsters like Asgore, Toriel, asriel ,sans and undyne are moving, shaking and sweating to beat you

He's also standing perfectly still, and when you fight monsters, the more they want to kill you, the more they bounce. Take undyne for example, she is moving all over the place, asgore truely doesn't WANT to kill you, but he has to. Toriel is standing almost completely still because she doesnt want to hurt you, meanwhile papyrus is standing COMPLETELY FUCKING STILL

I can back this up, actually. Through the genocide route, with sans’ fight, he shows he doesn’t want to fight. He actually is STILL being lazy. And he’s powerful af already. If he DID try, he would also tire himself out too quick. He’s conserving stamina so he doesn’t instantly pass out. He’s fighting because of his role as a judge. If he was fighting because his brother was killed, then why didn’t he do it in the neutral route? That’s my evidence. Sans bounces very little because he’s holding back as well.

There's also the animation theory, where monsters that are trying very hard to kill you tend to have moving, animated sprites (ex: paci/ntrl undyne) whereas papyrus is the _only_ character that doesn't move *at all* in his fight with you.

I'm surprised that there are so few Undertale theories that use "Flowey knows Papyrus" as one of their main points of evidence. The "Papyrus is Omega powerful" theory is the only one I've seen that uses this.
I guess it's because since Flowey had the power to save and reset he could have known everyone (hell probably became friends with everyone at some point) and that doesn't really add much to many theories.
Well you'd have to use how Flowey reacts to them for it to be at all meaningful. It's the sort of thing that doesn't make sense in a vacuum.

A fun concept that was thrown around is that monsters who move a lot in their battle sprites are the ones who are REALLY trying to kill you.
Characters like Undyne, Mettaton, and Mad Dummy who super want to kill you are very active in their sprites.
While Toriel, Asgore, and Napstablook move slightly, as they don’t want to kill you. They aren’t really giving it all.
Papyrus, only when fighting him, DOESN’T MOVE AN INCH. We know he can, since he moves A LOT during the dates with himself and Alphys.
So when fighting him he is basically not trying THE HARDEST and he still ends up being a tougher fight then most monsters. Undyne wasn’t joking when she said he was strong

@@enjoyer2227nope, pacifist is if you have never slain any monsters whereas neutral is 1 kill or more without exhausting the kill counter in the ruins, though after entering genocide you can abort it as late as MTT NEO, which puts you on a neutral.

You also forgot that, in Undertale, the amount of movement from a monster represents the effort they're putting into attacking you. Examples: MTT NEO, Undyne the Undying, and even Sans, all dance around a bit when they fight you. Sans flings his arm around wildly when he's using the most effort. All three of them are putting their all into stopping you. Toriel actively doesn't want to kill you, and Napstablook just doesn't really care, so they barely move at all. Asgore... Asgore barely moves as well. Asgore isso deep in depression and guilt that he just wants to die. He even asks you to kill him after the fight. Mad Dummy flails around wildly, and he's obviously doing everything he can to crush you. *But... Papyrus is frozen stock-still, just as still as Toriel. He's putting almost **_zero_** effort into the battle.*
Asgore only has TWO movements
His basic movement (but that could just be his battle stance. He WAS in the war after all)
And swinging his trident
Papyrus is actually more still than Toriel.
He's a cardboard cutout. Not even his expression ever changes.
He turns into a bloody standstill statue when he fights.

also: whenever someone tries to kill you, they move ALLOT the more you move, the more they want to kill you, for es: undyne and sans move everywhere in the screen, and instead toriel moves barely, only blinking, instead papyrus is basically a stone statue and doesnt even blink when fighting him, he only moves when engaged in act or smth else

There's a reason most souls are only a singular attribute, Sans probably just happens to be completely balanced in both Justice and Patience. He waits till the absolute end before smacking you down, and he also crushes you with absolute strength when he does.

The best part is... Every time a monster is visibly moving, they're putting in everything they have into a fight. Their motion shows their effort.
Papyrus is *literally motionless.* He has this much precision and control when he's *literally putting in the bare minimum because he can't bring himself to bring his A-game like he usually does.*
I'm pretty sure Papyrus going all out would be *damn near unbeatable.*

Forgot to mention how every monster you fight has some sort of idle battle animation except for Papyrus, who is completely still during his fight
This also aligns well with another theory about papyrus, the one with the moving sprites, as a summarization it basically says that every monster no matter what is always moving when fighting, and the more they move the more serious they are, but when you look at the fight with papyrus he doesn't move, like literally a stone statue, so it says that papyrus could definitely be holding back a lot, but this is just a summarization you should definitely search it up here on youtube if you want to learn more about it or argue on some points.
You forgot to mention the fact that if you go on a genocide route but spare papyrus, he says it’s good that you spared him, or else you would get “blasted,” further implying his accessibility to gaster blasters.

Pap is strong, sans is fast. Probably harder fight yes, but unlike sans you can actually hit papyrus
@@gabescrazy5504just because you can hit them doesn’t mean he’s gonna be easier. Look at something like the Genocide ASGORE mod, you hit the guy for like 7 digit damage and he tanks it like a madman.
I am so happy that they finally made a fan made game when he is way stronger than sans and actually has his own Gaster blasters.
It always makes me smile seeing discussion about Papyrus being incredibly strong, it’s something there isn’t enough discussion about and it’s a shame, because I like to think he would easily hold his own with Undyne if he went all out, he’s just too nice and doesn’t want to hurt anyone badly, and I don’t think he’d ever go like the disbelief route or anything like that, he’d still believe in a second chance for us even if he was the last monster in the underground.

If you lost to papyrus. and heal while in the battle. you basiclly lost the heal item(last time i played undertale was in 2019) that means papyrus controls your save file and he can easilly delete it.

Worse yet, Papyrus doesn’t actually leave you at 1hp, he gives you 1hp when you’re about to die. Papyrus knows healing magic, and was so precise with it that he was able to heal you when you were just about to die

I mean undyne does say that he's "too kind" so it's possible that he can use a small amount of the abilities of the kindness soul, which I believe includes healing magic.

i think in genocicide sans mentions he finds it hard to actually care about anything that happends since he knows its all going to be reset which is why it litterally takes pure genocide for him to finally get serious
There’s a line of dialogue that indicates that his special attack *was* something like a blaster.
If you do genocide all the way up to the Papyrus battle, but then spare him, it aborts the genocide run and becomes a neutral run. When in Papyrus’ room after this, a certain dialogue can be triggered about his special attack.
He says something along the lines of, “You would’ve surely been blasted to…” and then trails off.
He said *blasted,* which implies a *blaster* would have been used in that scenario. Like the Gaster Blasters that Sans has. Meaning that Papyrus’ special attack could’ve been a Gaster Blaster, or at least something similar.

Another thing to consider is that sans has only 1 atk, the only reason it’s so powerful is through karma so imagine how much dmg papyrus would’ve dealt.

Papyrus has the same abilites as Sans, but he's just too naive and good hearted that he refuses to use his other attacks, so he just sticks to bone attacks and blue magic.
Not all the same abilities, but a good amount of them. Example: Shortcuts. Sans can ‘take a shortcut’ to any place he could manually walk to. Papyrus never demonstrates this ability. Example 2: Gravity Manipulation. Sans can manipulate gravity with his hand, causing you to fall in different directions, appearing as an extension of blue magic. Papyrus never demonstrates this. Example 3: Dodging. Sans is the only monster that dodges. Example 4: Battle Box Manipulation. Sans can move your battle box around to make your attacks harder. Papyrus never demonstrates this. Example 5: Gaster Blasters. Sans is the only one known to use a Gaster blaster. It is possibly hinted that Papyrus can use one as well, but not proven. Even if he were, he would likely not have the level of mastery that sans had. I am not doubting that Papyrus is strong, I am just saying he probably has unique abilities that differ from sans.

Another thing is that in Papyrus' fight, one of the little blurbs that appear in the text box (like Undyne suplexing a Boulder and stuff) is that Papyrus accidentally summons a non-bone attack and quickly fixes his mistake. That could possibly imply that he summoned a Gaster Blaster, or something else.

i like the idea that in one timeline Flowey messed with papyrus to much and got fucking blasted
I think it’s because of the lore drop in the library where attacks can deal more damage based on how much the attacker wants to fight like how the asgore fight deals so little damage and Papyrus just doesn’t want to fight you anymore and insists to capture you for the vines idk but the attack is explained
Papyrus is the only one who doesn’t have any reason to fully kill you or he just won’t / can’t do it and insists or capture
