This was the best Fistful of Collars episode that I have seen thus far. I usually watch for about 15 minutes and get bored, but this episode was amazing mostly due to Keenan Cornelius. Great idea to have him on. I learned a lot in this episode, and I believe that most people who listen to this can change the way they look at bjj competition/gi no-gi
He's really graciously not throwing his team mates under the bus. But you can read between the lines "all the guys that can train twice a day, every day". I wonder why Keenan can't? Probs because he's not eating enough of that organic Acaii. LOL.
56:28 This! I travel a lot and every BJJ school I was in is this. Even at my home school. After time I just started to write the techniques down and remind myself and connecting them in similarity.
Yes this really resonated with me, maybe that is the reason Gordon Ryan got so good so quickly, because Danaher was actually teaching jiu jitsu in systems that he designed and organized, corresponding each system to a big chunk of the puzzle that is jiu jitsu as a whole. So it's quicker to understand the puzzle if you group a set of pieces as a system and then set the systems together to finish the puzzle. Really outstanding thing to discover imo
Keenan Cornelius is Dominic Cruz of BJJ. Hated by many, yet very technical and really easy to listen. Should be a great coach and analyst for the years to come.
What Keenan says is very on point. TBH, without any illegal drugs, how can human body sustain two very hard trainings a day and five days a week? even if it did, it wound't do any good to you in long term. With or without super zombie like hard training, without steroids, those roided guys like Gordon Ryan wouldn't beat Keenan period. Keenan's intelligence and mindset is just way advanced than those roided meatheads. Let us be honest.
Hey flo grappling...how bout you stop charging people for past jiu jitsu events or you start actually giving the athletes a cut of what you make?? Ya know, seeing as you wouldn't have a business without them and you're making money from their hard work without compensating them.
Show starts at 1:04
Please give Keenan a job at the flo team! The best commentator analyst coach. The best in explaining jiu-jitsu
And pay him minimum wage thats about all they could afford
He seems intelligent. That is one of the reasons he is good at breaking down fights and moves.
@@tim707max LMAO

Guys please let Keenan speak more I want to hear his thoughts completely, but thanks for posting this great content!
Bit about bjj schools teaching you random moves without a system was so true. The puzzle analogy was pretty brilliant as well
keenan is the man! he is the real role model for the sport.. . this man is going to make the sport explode.
Meh don’t cut Keenan off. Let him go on for as long as he wants to
I was using worm guard and ended up in spider guard. I opened up to squid guard but almost got passed so I went to turtle guard.
You can be like dillan Danis?! “Keenan throws up”
Listener: **smiles and likes Keenan even more **

This is an excellent interview. And yes, keenanonline.com is an awesome resource. Well worth your money.
THANKS Keenan !
very strong hip thrust
Proper lecture by keenan
I love keenans intellect
I would love to attend a Keenan seminar, but a Keenan lecture series on bjj would be amazing.
Super big fan!!! Keenan is top top! ;)
I feel so bad for Keenan’s fingers 😔
The bit about "tempo" 40:39 was new to me
1:06:56 - "Pressure is weird because it doesn't exist. It only exists within your own mind. It's completely fictional."

In chess you take turns. In BJJ everything could be simultaneous/fluid, it’s not mechanical.
More keenan cornelius!!
wallmart joe rogan needs to chill, bro let the man speak.
Haha true ive sensed some ego in that little fellah
The overanalysis cornelius applies to the sport is both his strong and weak point.
I would like to see Keenan and Marcelo Garcia exchange ideas and concepts on the Mat and then roll for 15-20 minutes
Nicholas NJ they rolled.
This isn't softcore porn, bro
Can you please upload these podcasts to Stitcher or Apple Podcasts please? Audio only version?
Love Keenan, such a goofball, no homo doe.
Would you let him lick your oreo, doe?
Keenan!
what a fucking legend.
puppet-master guard sounds better than worm
Awesome interview
Multicultural Referees -- He just explained Olympic level refereeing.
13:45 - 15:40
Yeah, it sounds a lot like catch wrestling, just without the potential for a win via pin.

gordon's beaten keenan tho :(
Got to learn to train light
19:15
Yeah, that's more combat Jiu Jitsu then, because they are going to be hitting you, and that completely changes what is viable.
Keenan looks like a mix of jack swagger and juan from thatwasepic
Slowly becoming a fan of Keenan. Although not the worm-guard. :)
he's very likable in the podcast setting..
Dokonjonosuke Mishima. Japanese MMA
TIL Keenan wouldn’t roll with me because I’m a blue belt 🙁
He’s to powerful for weaklings like you
Dude my competition Coach used to yell at me for sitting back on ankle locks because the other dude would score on me...thats a shame dude.
Any bought keenan's worm guard DVD?
The new one is not out yet. Soon
Is this the podcast that got Keenan kicked off ATOS?
Keenan vs gordon gi and nogi
What happened to his ears, i thought those cauliflower ears happen to fighters only
Jiu jitsu is fighting
Rolling in the gi ia super hard on your ears. The fabric is pretty abrasive.
Not hard at all to gain weight after 40 ;).
28:07 lol :D
“That jungle strength” yikes
Tchotchke
Well it would be nice if they would stop trying to give their opinions, and let the guest speak.
Fake joe rogan, fake Clay Guida, Knock off wonderboy and then Keenan.
The English guy is the weakest interviewer ever

ESPN doesn't pay athletes. the athletes get their cut because streaming makes sponsorship more lucrative.
it's the IBJJF that should be paying blackbelts.
@@mark4386 all those athletes get paid as pros...big difference
