  • People have many questions about moving to Tijuana Mexico. I talk about what I wish I knew before taking the plunge and moving to Tijuana Mexico. More people from Southern California are looking to move to Tijuana to try and dodge the high cost of the San Diego cost of living.

Dude did you get sentri? Makes a world of difference. Yes it can be difficult to cross but there are apps to help and especially Facebook groups. I'm a Califonia born lived in SD almost all my life (MiraMesa 25yrs), now living in playas de tj for 10years. Came not speaking a lick of Spanish and learned in 8months. I work in North county of San Diego. So I have a commute daily. But this life is not for everyone. I love it and live like a king. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

How far is it to the next border crossing east of Tijuana? And how is the wait time there generally? It seems ridiculous that they haven't solved this problem. That passport garbage is garbage. If you're an american citizen no matter what they have to allow you back into the united states. If the law even exist when walking or driving into Tijuana its become an unenforceable law because thousands of Americans cross into mexico without a passport. Because the Mexicans allow it. They can careless what law America makes because if they honor the American law that means less U.S. Dollars come into their country. Get real. Border agents arent gonna waste their time writing thousands of tickets a day. I live there for 4 years with no passport. You'll be ok

Crossing into Mexico without a passport is fine, if they really want to be anal theyll make you pay a $20 fee for not having one but unlikely. Crossing back into the US you do need a passport for faster entry but if you only have your ID or birth certificate they will make you wait in a room and take your fingerprints to look you up and it could take up to an hour or more just cuz they want to give you a hard time for not having your passport.
