- I didn't think Elden Ring was going to be that great...and I was wrong. If you liked Dark Souls, you should have already played Elden Ring.
Much to my surprise, the recent DLC made it even better. Don't listen to any debate, just dive in and enjoy it!

Really fun to hear you talking about some wider interests - hugely agree that there's something about the exploration in Elden Ring that's just so addictive and easy to fall in to
Imagine a Cradle souls-like...
Not sure that it's the genre that makes the most sense for a video game adaptation, but I would play the hell out of it.
can confirm would play this, imagine the class system tho yikes what a design nightmare haha
You can definitely make a Lindon and Yarin build
Imagine a Cradle fighting game, now that would go hard.
Elder Empire would definitely fit into a Bloodborne-style game.
Agree about most all of this, especially the part of the NPC questlines. Although, I will say that Elden Ring is at least far more forward with its story than the Dark Souls franchise was. Much more dialogue and cutscenes are given to the actual meat of the plot and lore, so it's at least a little easier to piece together.
So should we expect some elden ring Space bloopers in Space Bloopers 3: Return Of The Blooper?
Every blooper is an Elden Ring blooper from now on.
"If I might be so bold as to ask... would you donate any Shabriri grapes in your possession to me?" Like, without a guide how are you supposed to finish that quest line? Impossible.
Why didn’t Lindon simply find more Scadutree fragments to get stronger???
How dare you complain about wanting more story, Will? We, who have been begging you to make your books longer for years, even if it's just slice of life, chill moments, only to have you laugh at us from your high castle walls. How dare you, sir?
To make it up to us, you had best listen to Rebecca and include 6 chapters of Mercy romance in the upcoming anthology.
Honestly i was about the same with Elden Ring. I was so open worlded-out with the whole Ubisoft iterative formula and all, that i just didn't find the idea appealing, and i was *sure* it wouldn't work with Dark Souls's formula. You couldn't have the same standard of level design with it. So i waited over a year to play it, 'til it was super cheap. Fell in love, it's my favorite of the franchise, with amazing levels and atmosphere, and won't be surpassed as a Soulslike until Nioh 3: This Time It's An Open World As Good As Elden Ring (hopefully).
DLC's great, fallen back in love for my fourth playthrough to do it. Even if its bosses make Bloodborne's look like they're in slow motion and Sekiro's look like they have one easy-to-handle attack.
I CAN'T BEAT THE FINAL BOSS 😭😭
Not with that attitude!
@@WillWightAuthor be totally honest right now.. how many tries did it take you? 👀
@@hazzy77 That's one of life's great mysteries. Like asking why we exist on this planet or why fried chicken is the superior form of chicken. There can be no true answer.
Use greatshield and a thrusting sword with bleed on it, and as many holy damage negation talismans you have, then just tank through his hits while poking him

Now you're blogging!
And I like it😅
I mean he has better humour than 90% of those "big youtubers"
I've been playing the DLC whenever I get a chance but I'm so busy! I wish I had a few straight days to just dive in
I took a 9 day vacation just to play and platinum😂
Love Elden Ring so much. And I definitely spent some time playing with both Lindon and Yerin inspired builds in the DLC.
I love how enthusiastic Will is about the video games he loves so much.❤️😍🥰
You should give Sekiro a second chance (afterall shadows die twice... Sik). Once you finally see the matrix it's kinda awesome.
Elden Ring X Cradle cross over or possible game? Confirmed?
I absolutely love Elden Ring as well!
NPC questlines were bad enough when it was a small map. Now they're "I'm gonna go hide in this random corner of a huge open world gooood luuuuuuck :>"
Elden Ring was my best friend while recovering from a knee replacement! Just started the DLC! Good review! The lore is great!
So who else is trying to make Lindon Build using Black Flame incantations and Martial Arts wraps
Elden Ring is such an amazing game.
Oh man, I love someone gets that bloodborne's design and color palette leads to mid visual discernment. I do love sekiro though, when you replay it think of it like a rhythm game and itll click. It did for me anyway.
These games and even the soulslike formula is one of my favorites.
Just a quick counter point if i may add one. The story being told through clues in items, and one line of npc dialog, and that sort of thing has it's reasons. Two-fold, 1. The person is exposed to the same amount of info as if they were in the world themselves. Real world mysteries and stories dont have all the answers and no one shares secrets openly or they wouldnt be secrets. 2. Ever wonder why in movies they have characters whisper important lines? To FORCE you to listen closer. Same principle is in affect when they don't give you story up front, and you are rewarded for digging a little instead. Rewarded for paying attention.
That being said super great game and games, lmk if you wanna play together sometime got it on multiple platforms! :D
Love hearing people talk about Elden ring! But only 3 mins?! We need more lol
First off: Whoa look at all those Drosses!!
Secondly I just made an Elden Ring VFX video where I described the game as phenomenal, and THEN I SAW YOU HAVE A NEW VIDEO WITH THAT AS THE TITLE
Todays been a good day 🤜🤛
I need to make my way to Mohgwyn Palace to start the DLC, on third play through play through!
It’s a great game to have when you’re recovering from a knee replacement, LOL
I felt like mesmerfire was a better aesthetic interpretation of your blackflame than the actual Elden ring black flame, at least in the earlier books. Putting that little tidbit aside I love all the content you put out please keep it up until I can upload your brain into a computer so you can stream cradle book 213 straight into my neuarlink. Thank you!
My favorite author apart of the souls community
I think my time on the internet just peaked
Cradle Game?! Yes please.
Dear Will. Now that you are using RUclips as a blog (which is cool, you’re super entertaining) where can I go if I only want big announcements like kickstarters and release date announcements?
Great question! That's a job for our mailing list. I think the most we've sent out in a year is 6 emails. Only the big stuff! You can sign up here www.willwight.com/say-hello.html
I like that you admit that you were wrong about your gut feeling with Elden Ring.
It's a pleasure to be wrong.
@WillWightAuthor Your blog helped me realize why Cradle is my favorite book series (or perhaps why Terraria is my favorite game.) So thank you Will for making such awesome books (and the ever majestic Travis Baldree for bringing your characters to life.) I hope some day you consider starting a gameplay channel (or just streaming on this channel.) You're my favorite author, and it'd be a genuine treat to watch you play through games with minimal editing.
Agreed
I only recently played Elden Ring and I loved it, but I need a break before Shadow of the Erdtree. My biggest problem with the game is definitely that the questlines are just badly structured. Like actually just bad. Also the story feels like following bread crumbs that just lead to a slightly larger breadcrumb and that's it. Also I don't like how having so many different stats and upgrades to manage really discouraged experimenting with weapons. Also it would be nice if there was like, one settlement where not everything is terrible it's not decorated with an implausible number of corpses. Still real good though.
Longer videos!!!!! That’s all.
Cool to hear you talk about it, but you are dead wrong about Bloodborne lol.
Also you know how you said the story was really cool but i just want more of it?
...Every day... but about the Cradle series.
If you had streamed your play through I so would have watched.
now make the league is terrible video, and become Gamer Lord.
I could never. My addiction prevents me.
There is one part of the dark souls formula that got dropped by Elden Ring, the puzzle aspects. The way you could "cheese" certain bosses by paying attention and being clever. Elden ring is pure combative technique
"Traveler's souls gates" when?
