Interesting video. Shockingly expensive gas though.

I guess that goes a SMALL way towards explaining the OUTRAGEOUS price of refills compared with the price of disposable canisters. Which seems quite at odds with the ethos of avoiding single-use products which I’m sure most campingaz users have in 2021.
I am VERY seriously considering decommissioning the 907 cylinder based cooker on my boat and replacing it with a Topflame twin burner version of the camp bistro.
It’s an absolute no brainer that that would be the right thing to do economically. It’s purely sentimentality for the “built in” cooker, gas locker, regulator, etc etc that has stopped me.
Seriously, while the video gives some insight into hidden costs of bottle recycling, it is unacceptable that buying gas that way costs twice as much as buying it in throw-away canisters.

Totally agree. 1 million refills, 7000 tons of gas all done with 15 workers. Not exactly labour intensive.

Why replace the burner? just replace the regulator that fits a calor or flogas 4.5kg butane or 6kg propane cylinder

@@martinparker9249 We've ditched 907s for Camping now soley because of price. 7kg butane fits in the footwell of the car and is about 2/3 the price of a 907 refill for almost 3x the gas. When you get through 3+ 907s a year, that's a hell of a saving and in itself pays for a camping trip. 7kg Butane are available at many Morrisons supermarkets. I have however kept a 907 for the rare occasion we go abroad.
