    Thank you so much for the rattle tip. I have a bit of a fear of it detaching so haven't used mine yet - campervan - great help

    Thanks for the interesting video. I was interested in buying and using a camping stove more for in cases of emergency if the UK's gas supply was affected by recent events, and had a few questions if you wouldn't mind answering them:
    > Can I attach a campingaz stove to a large gas cylinder like a Calor gas bottle (of either propane/butane)?
    > Is there a way to know how much gas has been used/is remaining?
    > What is the best and safest way to store the gas bottles?
    > If I were to use the camping stove and gas now and again with long gaps (even years) in between use, would there be a problem with doing that and would the gas remain useable?

    • @camping_guru_uk
      @camping_guru_uk  2 года назад +2

      Yes, you just need the correct regulator for the bottle.
      To check the gas level in a larger bottle just feel where the bottle is coldest or pour water down the side of the bottle and you may see where the gas level is. You can of course weight the new full bottle and the weigh it again after some usage and the difference is the gas kg.
      Best to store a bottle outside, if its for some time bring the regulator indoors.
      Gas bottles can be stored for years, the hose on the other hand needs inspecting and best to change every couple of years. Do not use more than 2m as the gas (especially butane) can turn back to a liquid in cold weather.

      @@camping_guru_uk Thanks for your reply, that's really helpful. I don't have anywhere outside that I can store the gas so would it be ok safely stored indoors away from radiators or other sources of damp/heat?

    • @camping_guru_uk
      @camping_guru_uk  2 года назад

      Ideally not as the hose, regulator etc could over a period of time leak and I mean a tiny amount so indoors is not ideal.

      @@camping_guru_uk Apologies for all the questions and I appreciate your time in answering. Hopefully this is the last question. What if I disconnected the camping stove, hose, regulator from the gas cannister if I knew I wouldn't be using it for a long period of time, could I then store the gas safely inside without fear of leakage from tubing etc?

      @@dooli1981 hi, yes that would be the best option of you have no other option. All advice will still say "store outside" though.

    This may be a life saviour. I’ve just bought a campingaz camping chef and corresponding 907 gas tank and regulator (all brand new) and my regulator doesn’t rattle. Should they all rattle regardless of manufacturer?

      Ever brand I ever stocked did, definitely the Campingaz brand itself.

    Is this regulator tip of the ball bearing rattling only applicable to the regulator used by Campingaz or is it applicable for any regulator? Thanks.

    Hey Gary. I have a Campingaz camping double folding stove which i use for 24hour fishing sessions. the recommended canister to fuel it is the R904 which weighs about 10kg when full, far too heavy to comfortable carry along the bank with all my kit. Novice question for you: Can i use an adaptor or somehow use and connect a FAR smaller fuel canister as i only need it for 24 hour stints. I think the inlet on the stove is 21mm rubber tube, i would really like to be able to connect a very small lightweight fuel canister to it. Thanks in advance. Linton.

      Get yourself one of these regulators and a coleman C500 gas cartridge. Should last you a weekend of cooking easily. wowcamping.co.uk/productDetail/highlander-gas-cartridge-regulator/?gclid=CjwKCAjw4pT1BRBUEiwAm5QuR_1crEu8CW0Bp3Hu9PtsWZL2zeA3YuwHqZzqTAxXJovQ1D3iOA_27BoC4ngQAvD_BwE

      Not that I know of, I'm sure someone out there might of figured out a work around but I as a retailer would only recommend you use the recommended cylinders for your appliances
