Thanks for the interesting video. I was interested in buying and using a camping stove more for in cases of emergency if the UK's gas supply was affected by recent events, and had a few questions if you wouldn't mind answering them:
    > Can I attach a campingaz stove to a large gas cylinder like a Calor gas bottle (of either propane/butane)?
    > Is there a way to know how much gas has been used/is remaining?
    > What is the best and safest way to store the gas bottles?
    > If I were to use the camping stove and gas now and again with long gaps (even years) in between use, would there be a problem with doing that and would the gas remain useable?

      Hi,
Yes you can attach a Campingaz or other camping cooker with the correct regulator to a larger bottle. It is a matter of weighing the bottle full when you first get it and then weighing again as you use the gas, or shaking it similar to a deodorant can just on a larger scale. Gas bottles can be stored safely outside or in a garage or shed. Gas does not have a use by date at all, bear in mind it has been in the ground a few centuries/millennia before we took it out and bottled it.

@@CamperiteLeisureMarksTey Thanks for your reply, that's really helpful. I don't have anywhere outside that I can store the gas so would it be ok safely stored indoors away from radiators or other sources of damp/heat? Is it generally ok to disconnect the camping stove, hose, regulator from the gas cannister if I knew I wouldn't be using it for a long period of time?

I’ve just bought a Thetford gas hob for my camper conversion. The 8mm nozzle is completely smooth, no rubs at all. Are the ribs necessary or will the jubilee’s do their job anyway?
It must be right as they sell thousands everyday and are a top brand but it just seems strange to me that it is completely smooth.
Maybe there is another method of attaching the rubber house without jubilee’s…
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Gonna sound like a stupid question but how do you get hot water when you’re connecting your stove, the thing that makes the water hot? 😂 would it be okay with the hose half way on to heat some water, until I can get hot water to fully install the hose?

You connect it all up at home before tou go waya on holiday, as once its all connected you can leave it all done and then just connect to the gas bottle as needed, hopefully you got a kettle and hot water at home!! lol

Hi, can I keep the bottle attached to the camping stove provided the regulator is turned to the closed position or is it recommended that I connect and disconnect it after each use?

    • @CamperiteLeisureMarksTey
      @CamperiteLeisureMarksTey  4 года назад +1

You can keep it attached while you are away on holiday and turn it off at the regulator after use to be on the safe side.

Hi. I need to get a connector for my cooker. It is an old Optimus cooker and I have a 907 gas bottle. There is a threaded pipe at the back but no connector to push the pipe onto. The pipe is 10mm. Where can I get the connector I need?

Depends on the age of the cooler. Feel free to email us a couple of pictures of the cooler and what you have and we will make sure we point you in the right direction
