- This is the Ferrari P80/C, a unique product from Ferrari's Special Projects team based on the 488 GT3 racecar, and you can join me now for a completely exclusive opportunity to discover it! Let's take a look at all of the details of this bespoke machine before heading to the hillclimb with Sam Bird at the wheel for the full experience.
As Ferrari's 36th such project, the P80/C is the result of 5-6 years work between the customer and the design and engineering teams. Having started life working from the 488 GT3 prototype, the new carbon fibre bodywork takes inspiration from the 330 P3/4 while incorporating a lower roofline and both Attack and Concours configurations.
As you see it here, the car features the high rear wing and 18" race wheels; but it can also be set up without the wing and fitted with 21" display wheels too for different types of shows. The appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed is actually its very first outing, and certainly for a dynamic display to the public.
The owner of the car very kindly invited me to jump onboard to share the car with you and give a sense of what it's like. At this moment in time it made me the first person to have such an opportunity and I cannot thank him enough for this. Thomas Hayhurst Yes, as mentioned mr_tk. I follow him on Instagram (due to his vintage watch content) I believe he owns or at least runs Blackbird Ferrari dealership in Hong Kong. Only thing I don’t like is the blacked out windows, there’s a pic from ages ago on IG of the car without the tints & it looks a lot nicer.

What I like about Shmee's videos is you actually get a sense of how loud the cars are. They don't completely chop his voice off, but it's not like in other videos where all the cars had their sounds edited down.

Love the beautiful 288 GTO inspired design. From the shape of the front fenders to the blacked out A pillars and bulging rear fender design you can clearly see that this car’s design was definitely inspired by the 288 GTO from the mid 1980’s.

Ok shmee, you win. SUB. The P80C is by far and away my favorite Ferrari to date. Absolutely gorgeous!. I will say that the back end looks a bit like a beetle's reproductive bits.. Not a huge fan of the exposed back end... but... sheesh what a car.

I really like this Ferrari as well! It's look, style, performance, speed, power, specs! But it also has that silly looking steering wheel. The aerodynamics, wind resistance, wind speed, down force and the slipstream have to be incredible on such a magnificent machine! Not to mention the velocity to wind ratio. And the calculation of drag has to be low, giving it greater speed. Nothing beats a Ferrari! Nothing!

I really wish this vehicle was commissioned based on the Pista. The body is stunning. My favorite new mid engine design vehicle for a decade or longer. I would just want be able to street the vehicle too
The front is strikingly close to GTA V's Vapid FMJ (and the FMJ's front was based on Aston's Vulcan and the rear was based on a Ford GT)... b-e-a-utiful machine though, that sound 🎶!

Thanks for your excellent commentary on this gorgeous car. I think this is one of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen; the way the black rear window appears to bend into the side scoop makes the P80C look so agreesive, yet somehow, elegant as well.

I love these race tyres, the extra sidewall make them look so much better... there is some brand that I like, is it Toyo? that has a more square end to them that also look good even with a thinner sidewall... Not sure if thats the brand... anyway, the P80/C looks really cool. That said, I'm not sure if why put so much effort in to something like this. A road car I sort of understand, but a race car based thing like this, only so much you can do, looks wise you can clearly do a ton but driving it will most likely feel like 90% GT3 car... if you even are able to tell them appart.
So many other amazing cars around, hurts not being able to see them all! Singers and the little GT4 there, so much special!
