George understood God well that he does't have anything to do with what we made up. "God of Peace is very quiet because there is no conflict in Him". When George points out that "there is not Go", he means that there is only God of Love and not the one who is constantly watching you and punishing you. The world is as close to "hell" as we can get, but it is our own personal nightmare we made up and therefore we ourselves have a power to believe that it is real. We need to let it go because it is powerless, only fed by our own beliefs that are unloving and are hurting us for a while until we have enough and change our way of thinking.
First off I am a firm believer in God. One of the biggest reasons why so many people hate Christians is bc they try to shove religion down non believers' throats. If Mr. Carlin (R.I.P) did not believe in God, then that was his decision. Some of my close friends are atheists/agnostics and I love them to death. All I can do is show love to them. Everyone has a natural interest in God, even atheists, so it's not unnatural to just ask the question.
