After 9+ years, Donna Adelson appeared in a Tallahassee courtroom to hear the charges levied against her, including murder, in the conspiracy to kill her ex son-in-law FSU Law Professor Dan Markel.
The following day her son Charlie Adelson was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Now Charlie’s jailhouse calls are out there making people wonder if Donna and Charlie could turn on Wendi?

I completely agree! Wendy changing the boys namesake is the most disgusting and cruel testament to who she truly is as a human being. She should feel disgusted when she looks in the mirror. Their father was brilliant! Anyone would be proud to carry that name. Shame on her!!
She changed the boys names only a couple months after the murder when she enrolled them for school. She also eliminated one of the middle names as it was to honor Dan’s grandparent.

If Katy or Garcia corroborate what Rivera said about Wendi being “that lady” that came to check out the hitmen, she’ll be arrested! And once those boys find out the whole truth about Wendi & family, that’s also going to be a sad day for her.
What a wonderful message from Dan's attorney to the boys. They have to be so confused. This is some serious psychological trauma they must be going through.

@@ecalose6785the trauma won't? I can not imagine. I would suspect things are getting tough for wendi now. The boys would be teens now. They're becoming free thinking. They're investigative in nature. I feel in my gut that due to these external stressors (they created themselves) that the care givers were likely not present. Checked out.
I can't see Donna ever turning on her children. In her own demented way, she even laments that her oldest son cut her off from his life. Charlie on the other hand ... I think it's finally dawned on him that Wendi couldn't care less about him.
What's bizarre is that she had issues with the faith of Rob's SO: then she threatened to convert the kids to Christianity and dress them as Nazis.
I don't know I go back and forth. But when someone like her gets 🔥 she is on a mission to destroy. She feels used and rightfully so in their sick world. I think Charlie was working on her and Wendi cutting her off will be her worst mistake.

In no jail call I have heard has Charlie said he regretted not going to the police when the extortion started … that’s because it NEVER happened

Charlie is a world class whiner. He risked it all and killed Dan Markle to become mommy’s favorite child. It didn’t work. Now he’s been put away in a ‘box’. Mommy is next, followed by Wendi and then daddy. Hatred annihilated this family.
There is something infantile about Charlie, his whining, his non-stop talking (preschool), his abnormal relationship with his mother, his very distorted perception of the world and of himself.

Ive been listening to all the phone call tapes. There is one tape in which Donna steps outside to talk to Charlie. Wendi And the kids are inside the house and Wendi is on the phone talking to her lawyer.
It was heartbreaking to hear it. But Donna told Charlie that essentially, Wendi had told the kids that he was convicted for their dads murder, or something along those lines. An that they know that its not true and that Charlie had nothing to do with their dads murder. Makes me concerned of the possible Propaganda those poor kids are being victim too. Its all just truly so sad.

Wendi is buying time. Eventually those kids will learn the truth, and they'll also contemplate how involved their mom was. And that will be a tough day, for everyone.

Why isn’t Wendi so upset at her mother and brother? They knew who killed the father of her kids/her ex husband for YEARS … looked at her in the face for years.. and never said a word. Their reactions don’t add up ever

Joel I'm still laughing at Donna in her short hearing talking out of turn and trying to run the show.
When Donna gets on the phone, her temper and entitled indignation get the better of her, and she has times when she seems to forget the calls are recorded and they ARE listening. So I won't be surprised if she slips up and implicates Wendi. I really hope she does because its obvious Wendi knew exactly what was happening that day. In fact, I think they should not arrest Harvey just so she can continue to talk to him on the phone. It would be great if she was calling Wendi but I have a feeling that Wendi is too smart to accept that collect call.
I agree. She won't accept a call and this will infuriate Donna and Donna will vent her frustrations with Harvey and Charlie. Wendi is doomed if she takes the call and doomed if she doesn't.
Harvey won't be able to control her. And then there's her children. They are not babies any more and they are walking history books.

He said when he was being transported back to the jail after the closing arguments, the driver had Preston Scotts program on the radio and he was interviewing Jury Trial Mentor (Carl Steinbeck).. He said Carl was saying how great Georgias closing argument was..

Donna will NEVER turn on her daughter - primarily because of her grandchildren. Charlie, on the other hand, is facing life in prison because of his sister’s perceived inability to manage her own relationship. He does not owe his sister a thing and anyone in his place would trade the hope of some remaining freedom for her freedom. His life is basically over unless he takes a major step. I still think he will flip - if only out of resent.

There’s something abnormal about Charlie. What it is I don’t know. His obsessive talking is a symptom, I believe. He and his mother - they’re like two halves of a whole, instead of being two separate, independent, healthy individuals.

Agreed. If she wants any chance of being free again, she needs to throw Charlie and Wendi right under that bus. Admit that she was part of the initial planning, but claim that she abandoned the plan and begged them not to go through with it, but they would not listen.

I'm more inclined to believe that Dan wasn't telling her it's a good idea to leave. I'm thinking Donna brought it up to him and as he is trying to talk her out of it, he says all the reasons why it's not a good idea, and Donna hears what she wants to hear. Donna and Charlie mishear everything and twist what other people say.

This sounds more accurate. I’m sure he advised her that it’s a bad idea, and she probably started arguing with him and nagging, so said if she wants to try it, she’s more than welcome to do so.

Between the first and second trial, Siegfriedo had already been convicted. She figured she could squeeze the Adelson’s for life if she got away with it, which she could have done due to double jeopardy. She gambled and she lost. She’s a POS for not caring about her kids and not doing the right thing.

The only way Donna gets a change of venue is if an impartial jury cannot be selected which won't happen. Not everyone watches the news or knows about the murder or cases. It always amazing me during jury selection in high profile case how many potential jurors never watch or read the news.
I am here in Sydney Australia and have watched all the Dan Markel trials. America is one of very few countries that allow cameras in the courts. He could move his trial here and the outcome would be the same, GUILTY.🇦🇺

Regarding common folk not watching news on TV. Most of us now consider it to be government propaganda. So don't watch.

Preston Scott NAILED it regarding changing the last name of Dan Markel’s sons!! Thank you Preston for saying that loud!!! It made my heart rest a little more. I wish something could he done about that!! Wendy said she did out of fear that Dan was murdered… what about now? The boys carry the last name of a well despised family!
I 1,000% agree with Preston Scott. For what Wendi has done to those children she deserves a life sentence without parole. She has virtually erased those young men’s father and his family and heritage from their lives. It wasn’t enough to remove him from this earth. She got rid of his name, his parents, his sister every piece of their father she was capable of removing, she got rid of it. Then the icing on the cake, she refuses to return a Markel family diamond that survived the holocaust. It’s absolutely disgusting that she refuses to return that family heirloom. I don’t know how that woman looks at herself in the mirror every day or how she sleeps at night. I’m sick for Dan’s children. They deserved to know their father and he deserved to know them. She will have to pay for everything she’s done at some point.
Wendi's arrest would create Dan's sister or parents to get the boys. The fact Wendi took the position of not allowing Dan's parents to see the boys and change their last names will not go well for her in a trial. wendi proves her evilness with taking those hateful positions.

That would be a wonderful outcome for everyone but the boys.
The best that could happen is they go to their uncle the oldest Adelson.
They are familiar with him.
Then he could help foster a relationship.
Sadly the oldest is about to be 18, he might not be interested in hanging around long enough.
Then he might be able to adopt his younger brother.
It's going to take years until they understand all the destruction that the Adelson's created and that the Markel's come in unconditional love.
Something they have never experienced.

I just don’t see them flipping. It’s going to be too late by the time they wake up. They have terrible representation with Rashbaum who’s pumping them up that this is a winnable case instead of leveling with them…and suggesting a deal. The jail calls highlight how wonderful they think “Dan” is. Rashbaum is in above his head. He’s never defended a murder case and never should’ve allowed such an asinine defense. He’s not being honest with the Adelsons and they are a bunch of suckers believing him. I couldn’t believe he told Charlie “We win!“ or suggested he’s getting a not guilty and Rash is driving him home. Hopefully soon the realization sets in.

So Donna's trial is next up, can't imagine her flipping on her daughter or husband for a reduced sentence which will still effectively be a life sentence given her age.
@@Thomas-fk3cw well, not necessarily. Katie Magbanua did the proffers and testified against Charlie in his trial. She’s hoping to get some sort of lesser sentence when this case is closed out. Whether she will or not, it’s nobody knows. But Charlie is out of options when his appeal gets denied, so he may get desperate and do a post conviction proffer. But, I honestly don’t think he’s getting any sound advice. He’d have to figure it out on his own.
@@AndiLee75Ah, yes, forgot that Katie's in an analogous situation. True. Thanks. Given that, if I was the prosecution, I'd dangle a deal to Charlie to testify against Wendi because I'm not sure there is enough evidence there without his testimony. It has to be eating away at Charlie that Wendi is getting off scott free and he's in prison for life. Let's say the State has to ultimately make good on a deal with Charlie so they have this leverage with criminals on other cases (have a track record that they make good on deals for testimony), they could give him 30 years with possibility of parole. He still wouldn't get out until he's around 70, but its better than life. That'd be worth it to me to take down Donna and Wendi, too. Others may disagree, but I feel they should all go down. But like you said, Charlie is absolutely delusional up to this point and still may be thinking he can win on appeal. That's a fool's errand.
Take it from one who knows. Narcissistic mothers will throw their kids (especially daughters) under the bus without a second thought.

I think the Markals will get to see the boys only because EVERYONE dislikes Wendi because of that and Wendi is fully aware. She will let them but she is not happy about it. She had told Donna the Markals didn't hug the boys or gush over them. I totally get that because they shouldn't rush the boys. I think that is so good that the Markals didn't carry on like that although we all know they just want to embrace those boys. The Markals are using good judgement. Wendi had told Donna the boys were uncomfortable, well if course they are because of all the negativity they have heard and continue to hear. The boys can sense Donna and Wendi doesn't want them to have visits and that's just wrong on all levels. IMO the boys are old enough to get unsupervised visits without Wendi. When Wendi is present they will act differently. Wendi also told Donna the Markals just asked about school etc. What in the world does she think the Markals are going to say. They have to get to know them and the Markals are using their heads. I would guess they have had counciling on how to treat them. My blood boils Wendi has done this to them. She is probably the most hated woman in America and she is aware
I would be worried about those boys. Wendi could be starting to panic and she does but want her ex-in-laws to have them. We don’t want a Josh Powell incident.
I think once Wendi is arrested the best person to take them is Robert Adelson. They are familiar with him and know him. He is sane and could help deconstruct the boys. Throwing them into the Markels world could be very detrimental to their healing.

Sad irony .. Charlie is droning on in his calls about all the life events he would miss with his son. All dan merkle was fighting for was to have his sons close by so he could share their life events with them only he was murdered for not
Charlie’s son doesn’t even live in the same State as Charlie. I’m guessing he only saw that little boy a handful of times only after Bree had to take him to court to prove paternity and get child support.

Wendi's going to wind up with all the money. I don't think a jury would believe Wendi didn't play a part in this murder. Ridiculous she's been walking free, changing the kids names, and living in Miami.

I think they would rather have not had to arrest Donna yet so that they could have gotten more phone calls and more information between everybody. But when she was gonna leave the country, they had to get Her. But now they have Harvey and Wendy that they can still get information out of their calls and actions.

Those two boys are stripped off their identity. The last step in erasing their father from their lives as if he never existed was the change of their name.You first conspire to kill the father of your children, nephews and grand childern, and then delete the last last thing these kids have from their father; his name. Wendi also knew about them possibly fleeing too, on one of the calls you can hear Donna saying “good” once Harvey confirmed Wendi would be there in 15mins & says she can look up the extradition… then the lady in the background says is there any concern that Wendi would tell or “have to” tell on her parents ..
If Donna gets a pleas deal to turn on Wendi and get out of jail , she’d turn on her and by default Charlie will turn on her as well to help mom out .
Otherwise I don’t see them flipping on her if there’s no benefit for them

Can one of these so called friends Charlie is calling just straight up tell him he´s in jail because he organized a hit on someone!!! You would actually be doing him a favor by having him be accountable and face reality.

Can’t wait for the psychoanalyst review on WA .Smart enough to understand she could never compete with his intellect & moral code. ( by the way, his failure at tenure in Miami was because there was no position for Wendi )His ethics shone publicly and no doubt privately. Perhaps her status inside the Markel home was markedly different than how she was treated in her home of origin.
So i have commented over and over because im passionate with this case. On Charlie's trial, when Wendi testified and the way she pronounced her words are just like Peter pronounces his words. Peter is Canadian and it's easy to spot. Please y'all go back and listen to Wendi testifying in Charlie's trial. She is mimicking the Canadian accent. It's very clear to hear. She wasn't by doing it in the previous trials. I don't have words for this however it shows Wendi in rare form. It's an act like Mommy dearest told her to do. This is so cruel on her part. Why is she doing this.? Is it to poke fun at. It's not funny however i love the Canadian accent. I wish i could do it but i wouldn't do it in this serious situation. All i can say is"Wendi you are evil"

Who here feels that Daniel Rashbaum should be disbarred from practicing law if he actually recommended his client flee the USA to avoid conviction.
He could be if it's proven he did.
There were no charges against Donna when she was fleeing. There would be nothing wrong with her lawyer telling her to leave. Can’t see what would be the offense? I’m no expert on what disbars lawyers though.
DR recommended Donna flee? If so Donna is not his client so he can’t be in trouble for anything
To me it sounds like Donna is saying as an after thought “ it’s worth a try”.
It seems like Rashbaum stepped into being disbarred if Donna is being truthful about that conversation.
