Hey ya'll thanks for being here and watching my vidya. McNally hasn't posted yet, but when it goes up, I'll drop a link to it here! Stay classy, keep it real, and I'll see ya in the next vidya. 🤝🤠
It is fascinating how someone can make such a complex stuff with “simple” blacksmith stuff. If I had access to that type of stuff I’d take your classes. Also you just earned yourself a sub :)
I love these more complex builds, very few people are showing how it can be and was done for everything in the olden times. You're Skill surpasses even your fart noises and oofs
Thought the same, a lot of people making just stuff you'd expect blacksmiths to have made. But these types of videos show the more complex fine art to everyday metal things we just machine out of metal now
I loved the video! Its very interesting to see you working without modern tools. This shows the historical value of craftsmanship. We must not lose these arts!
Fkin sound effects 😂 And beautiful work! I've been a metal worker for 15 years myself (not exactly blacksmith but welder-machinist) and I can tell you have real skill! 👍
That was pretty common historically, most of the time they we trying to maximize the material. That’s if it’s forged anyway… I don’t know much about castings from that era
Amazing BRAVO.. Question.. Would you ever consider making a spring for the firing pin for a double barrel (sxs) side by side shotgun. I could send both springs, the broken one and a good one. There flat leaf that are folded 180°.. ..? If you can build that lock from scratch. Of course I would pay you. I hope I haven't broken some RUclips law.
Unfortunately I’ve never done any gunsmithing before, so I’m not sure I would feel comfortable making replacement parts for you. Thank you for asking though.
Thanks for getting back to me. I understand completely. No way am I building a lock, very impressive. This is just a FYI for your on board computer so to speak. After watching your videos is why I asked. Truth is I don't think I would have ether without seeing it and what, and having to do with firearms. LOL. I don't know how to get a 12 min link on this reply, I absolutely respect your decline so I am not trying to talk you into anything. But I believe in your ability and I found a RUclips video (of course amazing) of exactly what I was talking about "Midway USA" "making a leaf spring for side by side British shotgun" ya gotta have a part to copy, and be ok at heat treating. If you have time 12, 14..? Mins this is the artistic and only part of a firearm that is pure blacksmithing, that I can think of. I think you will like it.
I love it, but just curious if you intend to harden any future locks. I imagine a lock thats still soft enough to file isnt gonna stand up very long to assault
@@Boredom_Herselfim well aware of what this lock is for, I watched the video. I just wanted to know, from the creator, what their intentions would be beyond what they have already made and what they have been thinking. Thanks for the input tho.
Your padlock is great! Funny, you use a tool from my country - the small try-square Kinex was made in Czech Republic, or if older, in Czechoslovakia. How did it come to you?

Wow Nate, this is looking very epic, this is very cool!
I can't imagine one-tenth of how satisfying it must be to latch a lock for which you forged the spring.
It is fascinating how someone can make such a complex stuff with “simple” blacksmith stuff. If I had access to that type of stuff I’d take your classes.
Also you just earned yourself a sub :)
Wow Nate, this is looking very epic, very cool

Wow Nate this is looking very Epic. This is very cool.
This is so cool. As someone who is an amateur blacksmith trying to learn things, seeing someone actually make a padlock is awesome. Great vid.

No way! Mcnally!
As a certified child, the sound effects are golden
the fart noise and vine boom on the hole punch 💀
This video is really well made, also I didn’t expect to laugh because of a blacksmith video, but your jokes made me giggle a few times.
Can u tag mcnallys video? Cant seem to find it
Urah same, not tik tok or shorts and his most recent long form is from almost a year ago
Yup I'm having the same issue myself, I rslly want to see him try this lock
Killer editing lol keep up the good work! 💖💖💖
Wow Nate this is looking very epic, this is very cool mhm!
Duuuude keep it up please! Super entertaining! Ok, bye!
I have an antique padlock that’s from the 1860s and the front and back of mine are much thinner
That was pretty common historically, most of the time they we trying to maximize the material. That’s if it’s forged anyway… I don’t know much about castings from that era
Hey I've got the same watch as you, I think thats neat! (Very comedic video none-the-less, high quality!)
Dude this lock is sick i love the rough forge look.

Pretty awesome dude. If you want to try another, what about a door lock?
I got plans for lots of different kinds of locks! Door lock is high on the list!
Actully love the messed up mic, makes the vid have a more homey feel, ya`dig?
McNally is going to obliterate that poor lock
Truly riveting
Nate this is cool
This is inspiring
I love it, but just curious if you intend to harden any future locks. I imagine a lock thats still soft enough to file isnt gonna stand up very long to assault
Probably not as they’re made for picking, but hand-forged full fledged padlocks would be pretty cool!
@@Boredom_Herselfim well aware of what this lock is for, I watched the video. I just wanted to know, from the creator, what their intentions would be beyond what they have already made and what they have been thinking. Thanks for the input tho.
Hey another random question. How does one make a file?
It’s simple really, just use a chisel to cut grooves
I love this guy
