    After watching your video several times I gave it a go. Not too bad considering I don't have the right sized tongs to grip the work properly. So now I am going to get a set of tongs that will and keep making these. Great video!

    My first time seeing you but you may already be my favorite. The way you describe your technique in your hammer blows and every step of the process is great, and very much appreciated

    Would have been perfect to see it in someone's hair at the very end. Beautifully made.

    Just came across your channel today. Cool project and good narration! I think I will give one of these a try and see how it goes.

    Got to ask; why did you use round stock?

    • @americanwarriorforge
      @americanwarriorforge  Год назад

      Mostly because it is cheaper from my supplier for this size of stock that’s square stock is and cheaper by a long shot.

    hey Chris, fairly new to forging smalls like this and i keep getting cracks in my work, do you think that's because im overworking it or working it while its too cold? thanks and great idea for a small fun project! keep em coming

    • @americanwarriorforge
      @americanwarriorforge  Год назад +1

      If you are developing cracks it is most likely from being worked too cold. Once it starts to lose color, a little planishing with light taps is ok, but you don’t want to work it cold.

    I have been planning on making some of these as a gift, has anyone used the one you made? It seems a bit bigger than I had planned on making, I am wondering if the extra weight makes the item harder to use or more uncomfortable.

      Yes. I have sold close to 100 of these now and have had wonderful feedback from my customers about them. The only thing close to negative feedback I received was from a couple of people who actually wanted it longer.
