Hey, netlify is for a lot of things. You can deploy js projects or html / css only projects. Well there is no npm build if u wanna deploy vanilla js. In your case just deploying it to github and connecting that to netlify should work, or u can also use Github pages for that. Thanks for watching :)

There could also be other issues causing this, sorry if this didn't help you. Also if line you commented here is how you pasted it, that might be your issue. It should be CI= npm run build, there is no space before = sign, so that could be it as well, try it out.
