      question: i intend to use a 3.7v battery to power a wall clock by stepping it down to 1.5v.
      if the output goes to 0.8v (basically dead for a clock), will the 3.7v battery go down to a safe level like 2.4v?

    • @L4b3n
      @L4b3n 10 месяцев назад

      @@goldillux I don’t know if I understand you correctly, but you want to provide 1,5V (for running a clock). The source is a 3,7V cell and in between there is a buck converter? If that’s the case your output will stop working at around 1,5V cell voltage because the IC will shut off at a certain input voltage range. If you want to squeeze out the last amount of energy, aim for a buck-boost, but that will cost efficiency…

    You can also use a simple diagonal multiply/divide calculation. It works too, maybe easier to remember.

    Can you please make a video about how a portable generator works? I am surprised that good information on this topic is lacking on youtube. Please include different types like inverter, avr controlled, capacitor, brushless, brushed, etc. There are videos of people fixing them, but no one explains the stator and rotor windings and different wires coming out of generator head.

      Yeah, this is a VERY basic info video. There is of course, MUCH more to fully and properly designing a transformer than just what is shown in this video, but this video does give someone with zero knowledge about this topic, at least a basic comprehension of how they work, and I think that's all they were really trying to do here.

      I think you are correct, but that isn't what peaks my interest 😂
      Missing informative videos like these that goes deeper into subjects.
      The next thing is stiff people with low shoulders standing in front of a whiteboard giving you so much detail that you need to attend university again to get anything out of the video. I miss something in between that is practical for me when I need to decide which 3 phase transformer I should buy for my solar inverters and what impact all the specs given by the manufacturer does to my running cost and selection when picking one out for example.

      @@jeremiahbullfrog9288 Maybe so, but I feel like this video was intended for the electronic "noobs", the ones who know very little, if anything, about how transformers work... Maybe he will produce a more advanced, in-depth video about the further nuances of transformers and maybe even how to build them, in the future...

      @@Mr.Engineer. Hmm, sounds like you might should talk with a modern solar system expert, someone who knows EXACTLY what you need to know there! High voltage and high current electrical systems such as that are nothing to just casually search for random info about on the internet because you could potentially kill or seriously injure yourself, or at least possibly totally damage something in your electrical system if you just base your system setup or hookup on random RUclips videos for example! You really might should consult a true solar system expert about what you need there. Someone local possibly, in your own town, one who installs those kinds of systems professionally at their job or business.
      I totally get trying to understand it yourself, whether just out of curiosity or satisfaction of doing something yourself, but electrical systems are not something to just "experiment" with to see what might work, because before you find the perfect solution, you might end up severely damaging something because it was accidentally hooked up wrong!
      I say all of this, not to scare you, but rather as a fair warning... And I am an electrician by trade BTW, so I know exactly how potentially dangerous electrical systems can be if you don't know EXACTLY what you are doing, so I'm just saying... Seek professional help in your situation if you don't already know exactly what you need to do and how/with what!...
      IF I could give you more detailed and exact solution help then I would, but even though I do basic residential and sometimes commercial electrical work, I do not install solar systems, so I don't really know anything about the modern ways they hook those up nowadays, especially if it's a constantly grid-tied system that you have!
      Anyway, best of luck in finding a solution for whatever you're trying to do with that, just be safe about it!

      The only way to get more current is to increase the voltage on your output, so, less turns on the output side/more turns on the input side
