- Well kids- Here it is! The maiden flight...
The swirling winds didn't help my nerves... as you can see these were not ideal conditions to maiden an airplane much less get it trimmed out.
My early online manual had no suggestions for control surface throws, so I was flying with the Dual Rate for Aileron and Elevator on gain knobs. I started the flight with 100% and ended with about 50% throws and 30% expo. I know now that I could go a lot lower with my rates.
This is an amazing airplane in the air and on the ground. I know on a less windy day it will fly like a pussycat.
I landed the airplane in the dirt because I am not used to being at official runways that keep the pilots far from the runway

Nice maiden Jeff! I used to live under the pattern for McChord Air Force Base in Washington, so I've seen my share of C-130s and this brings back some cool memories. Awesome plane!!

No stabilizer with this flight but it would Help on windy days!

Super windy- more than I let on... I was using lots of rudder as well
not exactly ideal conditions for a maiden flight i would say, so it is kind of hard to see how the plane is behaving during flight...so i guess we have to wait for more footage, thanks for sharing, cheers

Scotty Scott I think adding a touch of weight forward of the cg would help this c130!
Oh cmon i live near the coast in really flat Terrain where 10 mph winds is almost the yearly Minimum throughout the days . looking at that windsock there is almost no wind. try to fly the wing more use flaps get down the Speed and come down on an actual decent path just like you would in a normal airplane , makes things easier with those super scale behaving airplanes. other than that its just a lovely looking plane and i cant wait to get myself the Grey one , nice Video as usual. if i may make a request id love to see Videos of airplane adjustments like when u adjusted the slowpoke landing gear. People out there have the same issues with their planes and love to have some advise or starting Point on how to do those adjustments themselves. greetings from Germany , love your channel

How about a little bit of zoom during the video.... hard to see anything worthwhile.....need to practice some skills brother. Really brave taking that out in the wind for a maiden flight.

Zaska Channel you can get a 10 channel Lemon RX with a stabilizer- makes planes fly more true to scale and wind flying is much better- it won’t self lever the airplane though
7demo7 thanks a bunch for the response. I think I will fly cheap RC planes for a while before I get into this beauty; I flew my XK 520 and I had some incidents specially on the landing part of the flight 😱😱😱😱😱
