It's a great place to live but it's changing (and not always for the better) and there are problems here regarding housing (prices and availability), sustainability of how schools are funded, having enough workers here especially medical professionals. The grayness of the short days from November to April is not always easy to deal with along with the cold (but even the cold is changing too as in not so much lately). It's not an inexpensive place to live for some of the above reasons. I feel very fortunate to have a very good paying job that allows me to have a comfortable life here. Still I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I can't imagine being any place else but here.

Why? Because in 2016, he _pushed the entire Democratic party to the left on economic/healthcare issues,_ having long since abandoned going there after bending to Reaganomics in the 90s with Bill Clinton. By 2020, they were falling over themselves to endorse either single payer or at least a public option, and things like tuition free public college, while he inspired many candidates like AOC to run (and win!) on positions long abandoned by the mainstream American left as we sadly allowed the New Deal paradigm to be obliterated (leading, no surprise, to income inequality as bad or worse as the Great Depression, then to the Great Recession). Because of Bernie, those positions are acceptable mainstream positions in American leftist politics, and Harris's own VP, Tim Walz just signed a bill passed by the Democrat majority state house that now allows kids from families earning under $80k/year to _go to college tuition free._ That's amazing, and if that bill had been around when I was trying (and struggling) to go to college after high school growing up in MN, I wouldn't have ended up $40k+ in debt or so financially stressed I could barely focus on school. Bernie made _all of that_ possible in US politics, after the Overton window had shifted so far to the right. I'll always be thankful for Bernie's tremendous influence and legacy from his two runs, and am proud I was part of making it happen for him.

Bernie made _all of that_ possible in US politics, after the Overton window had shifted so far to the right. I'll always be thankful for Bernie's tremendous influence and legacy from his two runs, and am proud I was part of making it happen for him.
