  • Spent an afternoon at Ashford. The bulk of this video features e320s flying past Ashford Int'l on the flyover, captured from the platform & the road bridge to the west of the station. Also included is a refurbished e300 set (3219/3220) working a stopping service for London. Oddly enough I’ve somehow managed to miss all the e300 flyover passes :P
*Note: Shots not necessarily in chronological order.
    Lineside Facts & Observations:
Ashford Int'l sits on section 1 of High Speed 1. Some Eurostar services stop here but most blast through from the northwest, via the flyover, to the southeast side of the station & vice versa. The flyover line speed is limited to 167.77mph/270kph instead of the 186mph/300kph on the bulk of section 1. Outbound services (going up the flyover in this video) get slowed a bit by the gradient, to approx. 150-155+ mph/240-250+kph depending. Inbound services (coming down) reach 167.77mph/270 kph on avg.
