The fact Americans would rather have another 10 lane highway than this is mind boggling
The USA has a lot of money, they should spend it into rail
The oil companies own us.
@@miquelneutrons the main problem is freight rail, and Amtrak doesn’t get enough funding ever.
Sounds like here in the UK aswell. Public transport here is overpriced, unreliable and slow by European standards.
@@alexanderjamesreed935 In spain ,there is one ticket that costs 10 euros, you can take commuters and regionals, but no high speed and intercitys, although if you ''return'' it, its free

As an American, thank you for sharing. Not used to this here in the States
Thanks, also give thanks to all the og videos!
The USA can only dream of having a super fast cross country passenger rail network.
Yeah, sadly...
Big country USA cities are much far apart. Besides you will still need a car from train station to home due to lack of public transport. It is not practical with the low population density or the way settlements are spread across, USA is just built for Cars and planes.
End to end USA is almost as far as India to Italy,
Maybe hyperloop fixes that problem

@@miquelneutronsahhh now I get it. European train at high speeds it is :))
@@miquelneutronsthe intro text says high speed trains. Make it right or let it be.
In Czechia the fastest train (pendolino) can run up to 230km/h, but on the czech tracks it can go max. 160km/h 💀
💀Yeah
When I've travelled between prague and brno I swear I've seen the speedometer say we were going at 200km/h in one section? Maybe I was misremembering. (Not in a pendolino though)
@@BrotherhoodOfHamthat would literally be illegal
In Portugal we have a pendulino too, and only goes at 220km, its very similar to yours
it is because the pendolino is like a plane, railway companies can buy it, and this train was bought a lot.@@foxe246
I've never seen a train with a mix of double-level and single-level cars that blend together so seamlessly like this train at 6:25.
High speed rail is massively overrated, the trains just look fast, nut don’t feel fast. 125mph/200km/h EMU’s with S train level acceleration, like the Alstom Coradia Streams we’ll be getting here in Denmark soon, those are fast, flexible, and can make many stops wothout hurting travel times too much.
@@ncard00 Hmmm, well when I arrive at a specific place faster than I would driving, then it's not overrated for me.
Siemens Desiro HC, love those

Hello. I am Japanese and live in a city where the Tokaido Shinkansen (the world's first high-speed train) runs through.
It is not that I dislike the Shinkansen, and when I travel on it, I am amazed at how comfortable it is, but I am always envious when I see the diversity of high-speed trains in Europe.
For example, the sight of high-speed cars and regular cars side by side, which is not uncommon in Europe, can only be seen on limited sections of the Mini-shinkansen (ミニ新幹線) system in Japan. In other sections, station buildings and platforms are separated from the existing railroad, which is unnatural and lacks a sense of unity.
I believe that Japan has much to learn from Europe.
At least Japan ha punctuality
Diversity of trainsets it's not at all relevant to anything other than making it easier for railfans to look at more trains. To be frank, Japan doesn't have much to learn from Europe....
Hello i am from Germany. The fastest Train from Europe Is The TGV Sud-Est .He's Record Is 574,8 KM/H🎉🎉🎉😮😮😮
The reason the Shinkansen is separate from other JR trains is because of the different track gauges. The Shinkansen is Standard gauge, 1435mm, and the rest of JR is 1067mm. In Europe, high speed trains can run on classic tracks because they are both Standard gauge, except for Spain. I understand your point about lack of variety on the Tokaido line, only 700 & N700. There is much better variety on the Tohoku & Joetsu lines north of Tokyo. One advantage Europe has over Japanese & Chinese high speed trains is that 2nd class has 2+2 seating instead of 2+3. As an American, I take a lot of vacations overseas because Amtrak is so pathetic and Japan is my favorite. I love the variety of Limited Express and other "conventional" trains. I'm hoping to come back in the next couple or few years.
Hi. Everyone has his advantage.
When you have only high speed running for itself then you can run them punctual. This is not the case in Germany. They have often delays and even long ones. Not only for 2 minutes but 30 or more. Because of running in many streaches freight, reagional and high speed on the same tracks.
Love the combination of all these different trains from multiple countries.
Keep the videos coming 😊
Yeah, i had a part 2 but it was striked, so now, i have to wait... I am scared of using content that the creator does not want in the video, all the credits are in the comment, but that is the problem:Fear
Fliegender Hamburger
In 1933 the first German streamlined diesel trainset ran between Berlin and Hamburg: the SVT 877, nicknamed the Flying Hamburger. It was the fastest train service in the world. The 286 kilometers were covered in 138 minutes. The average speed of 124 km/h was only equaled on this route in 1997 by the ICE.
The lightweight diesel-electric train set was built by WUMAG after elaborate wind tunnel testing. Both railcars had a Maybach diesel engine, a generator and an electric motor. Its top speed of 175 km/h was limited to 160 km/h in regular service
I saw a photo of that train.

I’d love to see a ScotRail HST trundling around the Fife Circle at 25mph in this compilation.
I think one of my fav memories when my siblings and I travelled to our grandparents in the north of Germany (we live in the South) is when you drive on the A7 and the ICE routes are partially along the Autobahn and a ICE drives in the same direction as you do and you, and the train are currently driving over a big bridge and whatnot...
This remembers me of Spain, the coast of Catalonia has a railway, so if you are in the coast or in the road, you can see train
The cool thing in Germany is that on such parallel section you can drive at 200+ km/h and might still be passed by an ICE Sprinter going more than a 100 km/h faster than you.
