The guy acts so still and calm its almost like a spiritual master with huge muscular genetics who decided to leave his meditation and go place 1st in the world in arm wrestling. He is quite an interesting character.
He's got an empty head, he learned it the hard way. If he's got nothing to say of value, better stay quiet.
You mistake his calm, cool manner for maturity when in reality I'm afraid it's just a very, very low intellect. If you intimidate a special-needs person they will freeze up and seem calm.
This is why Denis allows himself to be 100% controlled by Babken like this. What grown man allows another man to stand up and defend him like that, is it his boyfriend? it's very weird how Denis lets Babken speak for him and act for him. No other explanation.

At least my 2 cents on the whole situation :D
I truly believe behind the "curtains" Devon can sit down with any of his opponents and knock some beer's down and have tons of laughs just being bro's, but for the sake of the "show" he has to be the Ahole.

Devon is just trying to build up excitement for the match like he always does. Plus, he likes to try to get into the head of his opponent a bit. It does make for an interesting show, but he has made it clear in the past that he really respects Denis. I will say that it's impressive how calm and composed that Denis remains at all times. He doesn't seem to let his emotions get the best of him.

Весь мир хочет видеть поединок Дениса с Леваном, Девон это прекрасно понимает, что его поезд дальше не идёт и на этой станции ему выходить.
Ему все равно, суть конфликта в том что Бабкен не понимает как вести разговоры. Девон делает больше бабок с каждого своего поединка + он борется в 6 раз чаще в год чем большинство. Бабкен этот конфликт и начал тем что решил публично сказать что Девон бежит от схватки и называет клоуном, когда по факту Бабкен и Денис требовали 6 месяцев подготовки.
Ларрат на данный момент сильнее Дениса, Ларрат победит, потом реванширует Левана

You said it, cunning. Devon goes full mental warfare when so inclined and because Babken and Dennis are so tight, he's using that to try and unnerve Dennis. It may do nothing but I give him props for using every advantage he can. Best of luck to both and may the best athlete win.
Та там и Девона можно понять. У него был договорняк с Геной, но без четких дат. Они переносили матч, что не устраивало команду Дэна. Как я понял, Девона назвали клоуном из-за того, что никак не может "родить" матч с Геннадием. Ну Ларрат в карман за словом не полез, и на "клоуна" видимо ответил "геями", типа шит-толк на шит-толк. Только Бабкина это ппц как цепануло, хотя если в кого-то кидаешь какашками, то точно стОит ожидать, что прилетит обратка, тем более от такого шит-токера, как Девон. - по крайней мере, это то, что я понял со своим знанием английского из оригинальных источников.

Very good interview. Denis did everything right by moving away from trash talk and remaining a normal person and athlete. And Devon showed his true colors. The fight will show who is stronger. But it won't change the fact that Devon is not a very nice person . Devon is a bad actor who got lost in his role and started overacting.

Denis hasn't defended his title since 2018 and didn't even gave it back but he took everything for granted. He really acts like a "very humble and nice dude" by being boring but he truly isn't that kind as he clearly engaged the dispute and then got hurt by stupid jokes like he's some kind of a little kid.
Devon always shows respect and always makes a show for the fans and if Denis can't get it and Babken goes way overboard then it's their problem not Devon's.

Regardless of anything else, I believe Devon has a lot of integrity and appropriately separates schoolyard trash from real life. With that said, he has claimed he is getting death threats from the Russian camp and I don't believe he would lie about that. I don't think I have seen him at this high a temperature for any match in the past. You have got to think the threats have something to do with that.

По глазам Дениса видно, что ему это совершенно не нравится, что он расстроен происходящем, даже опечален этим развитием событий. Денис хотел как с Джоном, чтобы за столом встретились два друга, но Ларратт решил переиграть и плюнуть Денису в душу, сделать из друга врага, в угоду раскрутке матча. Они же с Ларраттом себя дружно вели, Ларратт был приветливый, когда Денис последний раз приезжал, а тут он буквально пытается морально раздавить Дениса, при этом переходя все границы. Поведение Ларратта напоминает мне чем-то поведение Коннора Макгрегора, совершенно неспортивное и неприемлемое поведение, особенно в таком виде спорта, как армрестлинг. Потроллить друг друга, конечно, можно, но Ларратт перегнул палку, перешёл на личности и начал прямо-таки оскорблять. Видимо стволовые клетки оказали побочное действие на мозг.

They are my two favorite arm wrestlers. The drama adds to the promotion of the match and the sport. Hopefully it’s a great contest and a good payday for both of them.

I have the utmost respect for Denis, his demeanour as a man, the way he acts and carries himself and behaves and talks like a true professional there is just so much good about Denis as a person and a gentleman. I definitely want Denis to win this.
When I saw Devon walk in and act so disrespectful I just lost a lot of respect for Devon he is doing everything he can think of to get inside Denis head the same as he does to everyone else. Because he cannot play these childish mind games with Denis, Devon is getting upset and now making it all personal. Even if it is staged to a certain extent, this controversy definitely has a bit of realism to it. I'm rooting for Denis to get the win because I want to see him pull against Levan. We've already seen Devon pulled with Levan. Levan & Denis is something many have talked about and wanting to see for so long. Also loving how gentle and humble Denis is.
One thing i have noticed is that babken Always is in or beside in interviews with Denis even if the interviewer speaks russian. It feels like Denis always says what babken want him to say. Ларрат зазвезлился, ведет себя вызывающе. В 2018 когда Денис его разорвал, Ларрат был очень скромный. А когда с Денисом случилось горе, Ларрат это почувствовал и превозносит себя выше всех.

Ларрат всегда был шоуменом-спортсменом. Можно его любить или не любить, но спортсмен он офигенный это отрицать нельзя. А что касаеться его типо спрвоцировать Дениса это для него больше шоу. Денис красавчик не поддаёться на всё это. Потому что он больше спортсмен , а не шоумэн и ему это нафиг не надо.
Я думаю он играет на публику.
