      That’s a point, he have too many chances to do the transition and counterattack but it’s seems like he just don’t have the confidence to do that and try to stay in defensive position.
      For me he still have much potential to grow.
      Even in the current stage. I think he can give Devon a better fight or even have a chance to win if he can breakthrough some kind of fear or ego.

    • @berube361

      Devon could've easily just held center each round until Denis wore down and pin easy. Devon felt like playing/testing Denis by doing those pump surges. You could see the desperation in Denis face as he tried to hold on for dear life. People are used to seeing Denis win with zero facial expression as he never has to try. I'm a huge Denis fan but Devon walked through him with ease. Denis was never even able to attempt an offensive move that's how behind he was.

      He needs to pull him towards his body. You have much more strength in close than away from the body due to leverage. I think the stronger man lost.
      If your hand is close you have more force than if your arm is extended. You can push a car if its close to the body and if your arm is extended you are made weak. Bicep strength should be used to pull the man close, than you can use your body weight to finish as Devon did.

      He wasn't telling a ref to quit whining. He was telling Babkin. Babkin is Denis's manager/handler guy. He's also the guy that always acts as an English translator in Denis's interviews. Babkin also hates Devon, so he was standing off to the side complaining about every little thing the whole time. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the reason they had to redo round 3. Definitely thought Devon was going to win, but not by this margin! You can see how massive Devon has gotten and what he put himself through to do this rematch with Denis. I think Denis should have had at least a couple more warm up matches before pulling Devon. He has not put in the amount of training needed to be at the same level Devon is now, and I think with a tweak in some of his mechanics and style, he can come back stronger and have a shot. As strong as Devon is, Denis still has the lead in pure arm strength, but as you can see, Devon is just too much with his hand control, technique and strength combined. It almost seemed like Denis was hesitant to counterattack on some of those surges and he was as surprised as the fans at how much Devon attacked him. Denis is going to have to evolve his technique, just like Devon did, if he wants a shot at getting back in the win column against Devon, but for now, Devon is just too much for most everyone!

    Ever since Dennis had his kidney issue few years back, he has lost a tremendous amount of weight , muscle size, and, strength. Even though he is back in training and regained some muscle, he is no where near as strong as he once was and it could take another 1 to 2 years to get this strength back as well as muscle. Yes Devon is also stronger than ever bit Dennis would of gave him a run for his money if back the way he was before

    When I saw this last year, I never saw that back and forth technique before. I thought, wow, Larratt is brilliant here. Larratt understood some of Cyplenkov's wrist, position, and endurance weaknesses, and exploited aggressively for an amazing win.

  • @siy4545
    @siy4545 Год назад +15

    devon has been training solely to break the wrist and denis' weak spot in his whole arm is the wrist . Denis has always had some of the strongest biceps in the game, so the only thing holding him back was exactly what Devon has been training to break.

    • @kiro253
      @kiro253 Год назад

      I argue denis had the strongest bicep...but devon had the strongest wrist or pronator....and thanks to his height he can use it to his advantage
