    Every once in a while your videos pop up on my radar, they're usually good for a chuckle or two.
    Nope, I don't need a union, I'm doing very well, thank you. I left a major fleet for a much, MUCH smaller one, with a pay increase, retirement forecast at about 62, and a management team, led by a stellar head manager, that is passionate about their drivers. In fact, they spoil us rotten.
    If you're happy in a union, more power to ya, but it's not for everybody.

    • @MetalTeamster
      @MetalTeamster  6 лет назад +2

      No, it is not. Today, it is for less than 10% of all truck drivers. That is why the wages are half of other trades like ironworkers, sparkys , plumbers, carpenters..etc. And we can be sued for everything we own unlike those trades people. Go figure.

      I wouldn't say jealous at all. Thats what my wife said he was when I played the video and I told her its the opposite.. This guy knows whats up and he is trying to explain in a sarcastic way that the ups driver has it made. He knows and most do that that ups driver makes a shit ton doing less than what most other truckers do with great insurance etc. Im a UPS driver but I drive a package car so make a few dollars less.

  • @satchelh
    @satchelh 2 года назад +4

    Just started driving feeders in August after 3 years in package cars. We have no reason to speed at all. Feeders make money for UPS by staying safe and avoiding accidents/injuries. I'm paid every minute I'm at work (minus the 30 minute lunch) with time and a half after 8 hours and I sleep in my own bed every day. Why in the hell would anyone want to live in a truck for pennies per mile, expensive yet terrible healthcare and no company pension? I don't get it. If you think you don't need a union, then stay where you are. I'm for damned sure not going anywhere.
