This is definitely a favorite episode of mine! Just to see Blanche so happy and to hear about her and George ☺️ Plus I just love all the crazy stuff Sophia gets up to 😂😂
Also, I wanted to say that most of the scripts for the show (if not all) were written by men. And not any men. Men in their mid to late 20s early 30s if I´m not mistaken. In one of the behind the scenes videos the actresses praised not only that young men could write so fun, funny and deep scripts but particularly since senior women where the protagonists. And that they nailed their what went through to the lives of such women.
Theres a lot that I want to say about this episode. We see here that while Blanche puts forward a vivacious sexy confident woman, when the mask is off, she's scared and lost after the love of her life, her rock, George, died suddenly at a young age. She's using her sexuality to try and fill that hole in her heart. Blanche is rarely brought up in terms of enotional plot line discussions, but she's such a well written and nuanced character. I cannot wait until your season 7 uploads. Some of my all time favorite Blanche moments are in that season. My favorite moment of the episode is the dinner conversation between Blanche and Jamie. She was riding the emotional high of her time with George that when that illusion was shattered, her heart shattered with it once again. My MVP is also Blanche with an honorable mention to Jamie. I think what now makes me sad about leaving comments is that while I love sharing my thoughts and feelings along this journey, I'm so afraid that something in the comments will spoil a major reveal and turn you off from reading comments entirely. I want your memory of this series to be full of warm memories and it breaks my heart that people would ruin that for you after you've come so far.
While I agree that George was Blanche´s love there are things that barely make sense. Like when she said that she tried to find comfort in other men after he passed away. Because there was one episode where they talked about sex, Blanche was telling story of the first man (on in those lines) after him and Rose argued that she felt guilty because of that and Blanche instantly said something in the lines "he was dead but she wasn´t". That she just had to have it. ...and that´s been her all her life. She loved sex prior to George and right after.
"They let her go?"
"No, they hanged her." 😂😂
well Rose did say "she got a *suspended* sentence" 🤣🤣
