1:25 this is a thing I actually do a lot. It is so helpful because budgies only eat the seed on top and then you blow it and there you go.Other hacks are very useful too!
This was a really good hack for me at first but then one of the seed husks ended up right into my eye and cut my cornea. I’d recommend not doing this, but if you do, hold it very far from your face
This is why I love this channel! you always come up with something new even when I think you can't surprise me with a new information since I'm very experienced with birds 😇 I loved all the tips 💖
THANK YOU FOR THE PELLET HACK!! My budgie is SO stubborn. 1. She'll only eat peas if they're de-shelled and slightly warmed. 2. She'll only eat carrot if it's finely chopped and slightly warmed. 3. She refuses to eat any other vegetable unless I pretend to eat it/ literally take a bite first. This trick will make getting the good stuff into her SO MUCH easier. Once again, thank you for all your brilliant videos. 💖💖💖
My budgie is really picky too, he will NOT even go near blueberries for some reason, and the only fruit he likes is mango and strawberries and the only vegetable he likes or peas and they have to be deshelled

Awesome video! I learned a few things so thank you. I didn't know about the tea and it is brilliant to ground the pallets and sprinkle it over their seeds, never thought of that, awesome!
Tysm! you have helped me sm! I am a new budgie keeper and they're quite new to me. If you need video ideas, and if you haven't made this video yet, then I suggest making a video on how to gain the trust of your budgie. I have two, one male one female. Their names are Frost and Flora. I'm also a new subscriber! Have a nice day/night!
Hi You can use all safe veggies mentioned here: ruclips.net/video/kJibQqCvNvA/видео.html Regarding tomatoes, I don't advise using tomatoes as they may be too acidic for a budgie's stomach and cause issues over time. I personally never feed my budgies tomatoes.
No joke, I have a toothbrush in their supply cabinet which reads "poop remover brush" in large capital letters. Just one thing, budgies have really bad eyesight in darkness, which can cause panic. I'm training my budgies to return to their cage using a command and treat, but we're still working on it. One night it was late and they just wouldn't go to bed- guess they were overtired already and didnt feel like leaving their high perch, mea culpa - so I thought what the hell, all creatures are drawn to light, so will they. I turned off the lights, outside it was already dark and put a bring torch in the cage. In a second, they went from sleepy chickens to bonkers, flying about the room, crashing onto walls. Won't lie, I was scared and turned on the lights right away. My point is, the little light in the cage is a good idea, but make sure the rest of the room still is lit enough for the budgie to fly confidently to the cage, otherwise you may both be needing medical assistance.
Cool lifehacks I like the one with the plant app My budgies always chew on all of the plants in my house so I better check if they are toxic 😶 I hope not though cause they already chewed planty
We have our budgie for a week. Richie (the budgie) is 1 month, I tried to put my finger onto the cage after a week passed, he sat on it! Now he eats from my hand (regular feeding). Have I started too early, since budgies need like 2 weeks to adapt?
I don’t think so. A budgie i had a while ago was completely hand tamed in two or three days, and she was the happiest bird she could have been. I don’t see why it would be an issue.
Oh clever with the pellet dust and water❤ I have a very stubborn budgie which makes pellet conversion difficult. I built him a home made seed and nut mix he likes but pellets are a no, so far. He also doesn't like fresh food...still working on that...He gives me a look, as if to say...Organic, I don't eat organic!🐤😄👍
I have one. You know those little twisty ties you see in the produce section of the grocery store for securing bags? Save them, you can use them to affix fruits and veggies to the side of your bird’s cage if you don’t have clothespins. Just cut a small hole in the fruit/veggie with a knife and thread the twisty tie through it, then loop the tie around the bars of the cage. Just be sure to give the ties a good cleaning with water before using them.
It's a tall Vision medium, I have the same and it's fantastic indeed. It doesnt have a drawer for the litter, rather it has flaps that release the entire caged part and leave the plastic base along with the bottom grate, so you can clean to your heart's content while the budgies are either out of the cage or technically still in the cage but without the bottom! Also, the edges are rounded in the plastic, so cleaning is easy, and there's no metal hinges, everything connects with plastic and pressure, so they can't hurt themselves. Finally, you can change the foodbowls from the sides, opening little doors that the bird usually ignore (though one of mine has figured it out and will take flight from there as well). They're very clever cages and help a lot.
Salvador, please tell me why my budgies all of a sudden going crazy and are constantly eating and jumping around the cage, Please like so salvador can see this, I really want my calm budgies back😭
Wow you really helped me out. Now I can convince my dad that I can let my budgie be free in my room, without worrying if he is not coming back into it's cage. :D
Yeeess!!! For number 4! The good thing is, I did that hack! I'm so glad I thought about this trick before this video. :D But I think you would also end up sending your bacteria to their food because in two instances where Dr. Mike in his videos say that blowing into your rubber gloves will have bacteria (rather unhygienic). You could try a mini-fan?
1:33 I actually do something better, When our budgies eat seeds and left their shells we put them in a plastic bag, then when the plastic bag is full of eaten seeds, we recycle them or give them to wild birds like sparrows, crows, eagles, magpies, finches and sometimes even owls! They really enjoy them while drinking their favorite Fresh cold water with bread socked in them. That's a great habit of mine ✌🏻
A little more on the expensive side as regards to tips, but my Roomba has been absolutely invaluable with regards to mess. My family has kept birds for generations and the mess has always been the bane of all of us, until I and my husband invested in a Roomba. It's programmed to do a round every day and we only need to hand vac the bits it misses, meaning we don't have to have a hefty vacuum cleaner taking up space in the house.
Question: are those seeds with sprayed water and crushed pellets only last a day or do you leave them there? I'm wondering if they're perishable now that you added water that could build up bacteria.
I leave it as it is for 2 days or less - until they end up eating all the seeds in the feeder. You spray only little water and it dries up quickly, so it won't go bad.
I have a question its been 3 week i started hand feeding my budgie it doesn't sit on my hand it stoped biting but when I try to move my hand to its feet it starts biting i got a starch in my hand when i move my fingers to give it startches it start biting agressivly what should I do
