- Finally, after 18 months I give you my final verdict on which one was better! I'm also starting a new test very soon but more about that in the video. Please leave me your comments. I will try to answer all of your questions.

I’m sure you will be happy with Glaco too. It’s a good product. For some reason it didn’t work any better than Rainx on my car but my friend told me it lasted a long long time on his.

Great long term review of two most popular products. Only possible explanation I can think of is, your windshield glass had some other polish or contaminant which is why Glaco didn’t stick to it properly🤷🏻♂️
Would be very interested in seeing regular maintance of glass as opposed to once and done. Also like rain x though can recommend they market a box with polish, etc., multi applications, senior citizen price. Hopefully they read these things. Thanks for your practical applications.😊

How do you find side window applications day to day? On my car I put a ceramic product on and the water tends to hang around on them until 35mph.
Similar with these products. Some water will stay on glass until some wind will blow it away.
Here’s a trick for you. I use glaco and every time I wash the car I put sonax BSD on top of the glaco. Two things happen when I do that. The rainwater flies of the of the windshield at a much lower speed than glaco at about 30-50km/h and it lengthens the lifetime of the glaco considerably. When I do a waterless wash I use Sonax BSD at 3 parts water and one part water and clean the windshield with that.

how do you solve the film problem 5:25? I had RainX on my windshield before and it's almost undrivable at night when raining.
That’s because you haven’t reapplied. I cleaned mine from the residue with a bit of a cutting paste and orbital polisher. I gave the windscreen a 3-4 minutes of polish and it’s completely gone. I now reapplied rainx

I am from country with a lot of rainy day. I used RainX for a long time - it is superior when you first apply, but it wears off super fast especially you are using wiper. RainX effect deteriorates to almost gone in one to two weeks. It just too much work to reapply. As you have found, RainX left a layer of “rubber” like film on the wind screen. This film is quite hard to take off. I just find it too troublesome to reapply and take off that film layer.
For Glaco, I only used once and is similar to RainX that does not last for me.
At the end, I use Aquapel - it is not as fantastic as RainX when you first apply but Aquapel lasts me half a year to one year even with frequent wiper wiping. I only reapply once a year which is very good. The problem for Aquapel is that there are many fake Aquapel around - even I buy from Amazon - they are fake. Fake one does not work at all. It is hard to buy Aquapel if you are not in USA.

The film is oil film combined with watermarks. Just polish the glass using a glass polish and it should be gone.
How did you end up removing he Rain X film before adding any coat? Would an APC work?
I used APC but tbh the best way is to use machine polisher. It will strip everything.
glaco ultra is for people who do motorway/highway highspeed driving uses, glaco has 2 other products that are used for people who drive short distances and drive under 45km most of the time, those ones bead like rainx, ultra works better with winds.

Only glaco for mirrors works at less then 40km/h

for the price of rain x you can afford to reapply every 6 weeks or so until it wears out on the windscreen. I have the 2 in 1 and its a great glass cleaner and use to clean the wipers too. Only issue is it lasts about a week or so then wears off.
These products work for a week or so on front window screens, but you are far better to buy Aerotwin type wiper blades every six months and use Isopropyl Alcohol to degrease your screen once a month for better long term and cost effective results.
They last way over a month. Maybe your windscreen wasn’t clean when you applied it 🤷♂️
