- We just bought a TON of boxes from an estate! Watch as we go through almost 150 years of papers, books and treasures on camera! what will we find as we sift through these family treasures!?!
I appreciate the fact that while you’re in the business to make a living, you still appreciate, admire & respect the items that you find. It seems that for you, it’s not just about the money. Thank you for that! It’s why I’ve subscribed.
I am so glad you consider the historical value that some of these items have, instead of just selling them to anyone. Some things belong in a museum for the public to see.
many museums have DEEP pockets
And, to preserve the history
Museums frequently sell donated items so i wouldnt suggest donating anything to them because there is no guarentee that they'll display them
Your families' work is a labor of love and patience. Thanks for doing this.
I love the enthusiasm and your ability to hold your phone and flick through the treasures at the same time
Thats a small talent in itself.
😂🤣
I learn so much just listening to your comments as you skim through this. If yours were a commercially produced show, so much would be lost in the quest for polish and spin. Thanks for all your efforts to share your adventures with us! I'd love to visit your store, but can't imagine ever visiting Edmonton!
It's nice to know someone else who appreciates old papers, books ect. Finding that lost language one! What I wouldn't give to be able to read that!! Maybe you could photo copy some of these interesting things to share!! Just a big in your ear!!
I don't know if you are aware of the fact that Google has a good number of old books, like a century at least, available for free to read as ebooks. Love them! They scanned old ones the libraries were disposing of to make room for new books. What a shame. There is so much more to learn from the old ones!
1918 & 1919 Norman Rockwell Saturday Evening Posts,100 years old, real antiques now! Great finds! Thanks!
Ive never seen a antique shop owner do so well....awesome channel awesome content your doing very well.
Thank you! I’m trying to find some interesting things out there :)
@@CuriosityIncorporated you find some amazing things thats for sure! Good job and very cool its a family thing. Cant wait for more!
I believe it's because he works hard for it, and is very charasmatic so his you tube promotes his business also. He's creative. He earns it.
P
Curiosity Incorporated,
It pleases me that you were able to rescue the items featured and that the items and paperwork didn't simply find their way into the trash as so much of our past does. Whoever was the owner of these well preserved items and documents must have been quite an interesting person with a broad scope of interests. These discoveries had to have some value as these kinds of items rarely show up in the excellent condition that they are in.
I only wish that I could venture into your shop as just peering into the background and seeing the items that you have to offer has me salivating. I hope that you found your discoveries to be a profitable venture for you. Your videos are always well done and they are a pleasure to view, thanks for your efforts, I'm glad that I subscribed. Peace
Appreciated William! And yes I have put these documents individually into protective sleeves :) finding good homes for Them :)
love, love, love to see all the old paperwork! i could get lost!
I love watching these videos of you going through all the papers and books ❤️
Those old books & pamphlets are a treasure. Such an exciting find.
I am watching all your videos. I really respect someone that has passion for their work. It’s really a pleasure to watch all your hard work turn into something rewarding and so very interesting for all your viewers. I consider myself lucky in Kentucky USA.
The work you do is amazing and I am so grateful for your documentation of your finds, how respectful you are to those who owned them, and your interest in them as well. You make the journey through time very fun and educational! You are AN AMAZING a guy with AN AMAZING family and you do an AMAZING job!!!! So, again, a BIG THANK YOU!!! Keep doing what you do, and I will continue to watch and follow you!!
Thanks Stephanie :)
I really wish you would have kept going and shown us more. Thank you for showing what you did. Very well done and incredibly interesting.

I am in heaven watching you go through all this stuff. Wow
Oh wow, the Papers are in such good Condition!! Keep every receipt, paper, scrap... us journal makers covet old papers. Sell on ebay or etsy.
I would be thrilled to meticulously go through all those papers and historical pamphlets.
I think the Horatio Hale Booklet is a good find
@@CuriosityIncorporated Anything HBC and can you imagine how special of an item you could have there if it truly is a lost language that you discovered in that book. Dazzled and amazed!
Me too! My idea of fun!
Hi Cindy, I just stumbled across you on this new RUclips channel that I just found...so it will be fun going through some of the videos on this channel....Cathy

Fantastic! Old portraits of people just beautiful! Great video
Great stuff , I mowed lawn & gardens for an old couple back 1950 the lady would bring a tray of drinks out at mid morn & always a Saturday Evening Post with it! Great Norman Rockwell covers! I am sure they watched me as I read it then really got on the job to make up time!! The common wealth Games were here in New Zealand @ 1974 the logo was an amalgam of NZ made to look like a British flag! , That was a great games the Black African runner Baiye won against the NZ champion John Walker who held the Africans hand high and the Pair did a "lap of Honour" round the track to the thunderous applause of the crowd, such memories .
i would LOVE!!! to go thru all that stuff 😯 so much fun and gr8 reading material also.

Lol! I love when watching your videos I occasionally hear Zeppelin as your background music! ♥️
It's so cool watching you unpack all those boxes. I'm probably just as curious about its content as you are. Good luck with your shop which I love. It must be quite overwhelming to step in and not knowing where to look first.
Thanks Lucia! It can be overwhelming but sometimes you just roll up your sleeves and start digging :)
He is handsome, good human being too
God bless u
I love this kind of stuff. I could watch it for hours. I'd give you more thumbs up if I could! Thanks!
Hi! Great haul. I believe that the statue is know a piece of Black-A-Moor art. Jewelry and many other objects from this style can be found. They are quite beautiful.
The lamp statue would have had a mate and probably been located at the end of a sweeping staircase in an early turn of the century home! Great early Brantford piece from the early days! Great finds!
I love old beautiful buildings and really old vintage things.. you would love the old southern mansions full of old stuff..
you have the most cool stuff....love listening explaining as you go...you don't ramble over the same thing forever....thank you
WOW! Those Civil War stereographs! & the Rockwell Posts! Very Cool !
I thought you were going to say a sarcophagus was in the back of the ambulance, lol. 😂 I love what you find!

Absolutely fascinating video. Thanks so very much for sharing these truly historical finds.
Fellow dealer drooling here!🙎♀️👍💜
I can't believe some of the things you manage to get for your store.
In 1957, my dad had the ambulance service in Carlsbad, New Mexico. We had 2 ambulances that looked like the one you have. Brings back memories.
OMG, I love all of the paperwork. So interesting, what you must have had going through it all. Si awesome.
I’m glad you liked it Karen!
WOW that would have been FUN!
Boy you hit the jackpot with what you got I think you will have a lot of people interested in your items wow !
Lots of great history
LOL I NEED that Once mag !
Lucky! That 1789 music is sweet! Agai you Teach. The giant w tail is delicious! LOL I know I preach on this, but your hope to find like Native museums for items like the language book.......awesome! Glorious styling like in the catalog. Im not into sports but that boxing sweater is great too.
Fascinating finds!
so glad i found your channel i really enjoy watching you and your familys adventures from east london uk x
Wonderful things.thanks
Love this! I deal with antique books and ephemera professionally. You are fine to handle without gloves so long as your hands are clean. The loss of mobility that cloth gloves bring (what you should use for things like this if you use gloves) kind of defeats their use in my eyes. As long as your hands are clean and you're careful, you're good!
I love ephemera, books, papers, catalogues, letters.... anything old. I collect Medical books (they have to be pre WW2) and old dictionaries and whatever else catches my eye. What an amazing lot from that old house. I could live in your shop!
It was so much fun to go through :)
Thank you for saving history. My father-in-law died a few months ago at 94. We thought we knew everything he had and how wrong we were. In scrap books were personal letters sent to both he and his wife from famous artists from Japan. We are having them translated but most people would toss old scrapbooks. We found a portable dental kit from his days in Vietnam as an Army dentist. We found a letter from President Garfield to a relative that we thought was lost.
Amazing family history!
What an awesome find. It would be amazing to go through all that stuff, the history.
Hi Sheri! It’s so much fun and still going through it all :)
Great finds Alex, love how old that stuff is.😁
Such wonderful brochures and books. They are in incredible shape. Museum worthy. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I feel as though I am on a treasure hunt with you. Good editing, music and a happy demeanor.
Brantford Ontario is 40 mins from me and where my great grandparents settled when they came from Italy. I would love to see that paper. I stumbled across your channel few weeks ago and I'm thrilled I have. Love the way you really take time to fully inspect everything. A modern day treasure hunt about history. 👍
"BRANTFORD ONT." that got my attention! that's part of my heritage. I am living on the six nations of the grand river territory and Brantford is named after the grand river fording of Captain Joseph Brant the native leader whom established my reservation. Apparently some of my ancestors forded the river with him. My reservation was established in 1784.
I really enjoy watching you in boxing your finds. I wish I were there. I have done a few sales from older houses. I love to dig through what some people call junk.
Wow, lots of awesome history in those boxes. Thanks for sharing.
What a great and interesting collection. Lucky you.
Love this stuff. Would love to go through these boxes with you. This is so exciting going through papers and letters with so much history and interest.
Love those American civil war stereographs because my great great grandpa served in the 10th Kentucky Calvary from 1861 to 1865 and he was on the union side during the American civil war Alex
My great great great grandpa was in Co B 5th Kentucky Cavalry,.He was a bugler and he was on the union side during the American civil war.John Alexander Birdwell (1823-1870..I am lucky to have a copy of his photo in his uniform..He was a gunsmith and a farmer...
www.findagrave.com/memorial/57408431/john-alexander-birdwell
My great great grandpas name was Samuel karsay colburn 1840 to 1916
I love history so very much..I love the stories from the diaries of soldiers that write about everyday life to hard times and battle..to speak our grandfathers names makes their memory live on..I know I may sound crazy, but I know my grandpa looks after me..I saw him ....I had no fear..just comfort....
I was just hoping to get a straight on shot of at least one stereo pair to see the depth.
I love, love, love, vintage and antique ephemera !!! I would have been in 7th heaven going through those boxes with you !!!! Take your time when you marked that stuff...don't let anyone talk you out of that stuff before you thoroughly research it...some should go to museums and other stuff might best be sold at nationally renowned ephemera auction houses.
Great stuff😳🤗 history in your hands😁
Edit: yes, basketball was invented by a Canadian James Naismith born in Ontario... and ten of the players in the first game were also Canadian... however it was invented while he was working at the YMCA in Massachusetts, and he remained in the US the rest of his life... a joint effort!
Basketball Hall of Fame is in my hometown of Springfield, MA! Do come visit if you haven't already!
I googled it. The guy stayed in America for the rest of his life. We are keeping him, and will send you Donald trump in exchange.
Didn’t know he could shoot hoops?! ;)
It was invented in Africa actually
Who cares, we just want him gone.
Really enjoying your adventures sifting through old stuff, very interesting. Glad you have great knowledge of historical facts, others may pass over important pieces of history and it would be lost. You are an excellent storyteller!
WOW! A LOT OF SPOOKY STUFF. BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE ITEMS, MORE THAN 100 YEARS OLD.
Some great finds,,well done..
The fact you see the historical value and want to atleast give museums the first shot at buying it, if not donating it (not sure which you're doing) is really telling of your character. It's great to see someone who isn't just after a quick buck. (I've been binging your channel so I already knew you're a good person lol)
Truly enjoyed the video and the history shared. Thank you.
Love the lady lamp!
How funny is this...Greetings from Leipzig. I live in this beautiful city and been watching your channel for a while now.
I am so addicted to vintage paper ephemera!
Awesome antiques!
How I love the blackamoor. She's wonderful to see. Thanks for sharing.
I just started to follow you because of the Potter’s house, but this would be like a fantasy for me, I could spend hours going through old books and pamphlets. I used to have a medical text from 1800’s that attributed most of mans illness to smoking or hard cider...it’s was fascinating. You have a cool job.
OMG...that stuff is soooo cool.
Excellent cache of goodies! I was curious if you were planning to have the lamp restored? For some reason I imagine her with a mirror image twin at the entrance of a staircase or hallway. Wish you could've filmed inside the place, it must have been quite a sight! Thank you for sharing your finds with us!
It would have probably been a pair, it was a cool place but some folks don’t want to be on camera.
@@CuriosityIncorporated Oh absolutely understood. It's a business transaction ultimately. I honestly enjoy your vlogs more than watching american pickers (which I've followed since the first episode) because of the authenticity factor. Much more interesting.
Really enjoy the scope of your historical knowledge!
I could spend months going through the ephemera and reading every piece.I tend to buy lots of the ephemera at auctions....Very nice buy on the whole lot of “stuff”...
Really amazing finds! Thanks for showing it to us!
Incredible finds.
The Cardiff Giant is on display at The Farmers Museum in Cooperstown, NY. He is very cool.
Love going through old paper like that you should do a follow up video once you get through all of it. Love your videos keep them coming.... Thanks for sharing !!!!
What a great, fun way to promote your shop; I would love to visit, if I'm ever in Edmonton. Thanks for the videos.
The Glenbow Museum,in Calgary may be interested in some of the early historical memorabilia. You have quite a treasure trove there. Good luck to you, hope you can preserve all or most of it. ✌️❤️
Once again, very interesting! I know, how about set the camera up and live stream while you look through it all! I wanna see all of it!
There is so much still to go through! :)
4/1/2022 just watched this vlog. Absolutely amazing finds, such history.
Some of this stuff needs to be scanned and saved. Love the old documents so interesting.
Vgyu
😘😅🤔😆😗😉😙😊🐶🐮🐂🐃🐺🐆🐆🐆🐆🐆
