The sad reality is that in the modern Western world, GREED has been rebranded as "Capitalism". Kroger's CEO earning 909 times the wage of a checkout clerk at that store is most likely in line with what is happening at Walmart as well. The Walmart CEO earned in one year (2 years ago) more than the combined salaries of over 200 pharmacy managers! Do you want to tell me ONE guy is worth more than 200 RX managers? That one guy can stay away for a month, and it will not really affect the company, but let 200 plus RX managers all of a sudden stay away, and you will see what an impact that will have on Walmart.

Kroger acquires non-unionized grocery chains like Harris Teeter. They closed the Kroger location near Costco in Apex off I-64 and replaced it with Harris Teeter. The Kroger strategy is to eliminate unions and increase shareholder value and C-suite compensation.
Same here, I was unfortunately one of the many individuals who have worked for Kroger the past two years since the merger was announced that was wrongfully suspended and terminated. They wanted to get rid of anyone up for retirement or would be earning pensions. The union is the pocket of the company in many of the chapters. I found an amazing job and I heard from coworkers that it's getting progressively worse.

The dirty secret of capitalism is that you must always keep increasing profits, it’s not a system set to work at a constant level or decrease in economic activity and still work. Profits must always increase or you get inflation because the companies will not settle for a non increase in profits.
The problem is at least two year on. Customers under financial pressure have stopped, and I mean stopped, buying unnecessary products one department at a time. The silly stuff had high margins and basic foods are priced too low to make any money. Now, the only stuff that sells is the basics and many stores simply can't stay open. It will get very messy.

Even in our "high income" area of SC, Kroger has installed gates at one entrance with alarms for trying to exit there. Only one exit now and it's in front of the check out lanes with constant eyes on the items going out. Our Wal-Mart now has law enforcement on duty at all times. Every check out lane has cameras at both Kroger and Wal-Mart to photo customers. My hometown of Galveston TX has their only Kroger right on the Seawall. It's been several years that off duty cops were installed at the doors and began patrolling the parking lot. Their shopping carts lock up just inside the perimeter of the lot, all due to out of control shoplifting and crime in the lot. Wal-Mart is the same although it's located on the freeway entering the Island. I suspect these security measures will only increase in coming times.
They are having trouble with lawless people.. some working IN the store. They are having trouble with getting food products to sale to more discrimanating buyers. Then the attacks by government departments adds to more issues.
I used to buy all my groceries at the local Kroger. I had one then two problems. Contacted Kroger and they did absolutely nothing in support of their lousy employees. Forced me to buy elsewhere and I will never return. Used to be the customer is always right. Not anymore.
@@dissy5563 One instance they had selzer water on sale. Cashiers said no its not. I went and pulled the tag off the shelf and brought it to the front. They got angry that I did that. The other. I used to buy my water there. 10 gallons at a time. They said no. Took 7 of me out of my cart and said I could only buy 3. So they lost all my business over what? $10.00 Sometimes Kroger employees are idiots or an ahole 😂🤣
In my city, Kroger was always top grocery store, however they now must compete with newer and larger Costco, Walmarts, meijers and Publix, Aldi. These competitors are in outer suburbs where wealthier people reside while mist krogers are located in newly higher crime areas in the inner older suburbs. These stores tend to be smaller and older. Kroger just built a huge new store in outer suburbs only to have Publix buy the adjacent corner property to put a second store only a mile away. I think Publix is going to get aggressive with their competitors Costco, Kroger and meijers.
Well I noticed in their pickup section…it’s between two guys now that bring out the food. It used to have several women and several men. Now it’s like “hi I just wanted to call to let you know your order is running late” every time now. Which I don’t trip on that… but it did dawn on me they downsized their staff big time. And yes…call me lazy if you want…I don’t care. I’m socially lazy so yeah I do the pickup quite a bit. I hear it from my husband all the time …believe me…of how pathetic it is not to go in the store myself
We like Kroger Boost in Florida and Aldi have the best prices on groceries we have Publix Winn Dixie which is owned by Aldi our Walmart is not really safe they’re losing customers due to this
Krogers bid to merger, is TRASH MONOPOLY PLAY! I am GLAD WA State said NOW WAY! Kroger quality is questionable at best as they push house brands more and more! THANKS for sharing ! !
Greed and mismanagement. They say theft…but only because of their original greed. During covid they put in self check outs and cameras on every isle… then changed them again 6 months later. Stop trying to watch customers and start serving customers again!! 🤷♀️
Large corporations create expensive bureaucracy and overpaid suits in the home Office, here is an interesting statistic, jewel grocery stores in Chicagoland are both union and the most profitable divisions for Albertsons. Costco pays the best and the are hugely successful. There are too many douchebag MBAs, who cut both cost and quality and surprisingly most American Corporations are on a path to failure.
Well it's funny that they're geeking out about Kroger using digital price tags but it wasn't I don't know 8:00 to 12 weeks ago Walmart announced they were going to rule them out I mean retailers across the borders going to do that so how come these politicians aren't fucking concerned with Walmart or say Giant eagle or any other retailer that's plotting to rule these things out I mean it does seem as if they are just picking on Kroger who did Kroger piss off in the past oh I don't know 8 years? I mean look I'm not a Kroger shopper on a regular basis I mean once in awhile you can get some decent deals there but yeah I mean fuck I'm 40 years old and ever since I was a kid I've always known that they are high priced My family avoided them like the plague so when I find a spectacular deal on something at Kroger it's actually meaningful and I have seen some evidence that maybe they really are trying to reverse some of their bullshit pricing... honestly I can say that on the retail front as a former retail manager of 25 fucking years The biggest thing that has caused inflation that everyone overlooks is the stupid points cards thank you Big Bear for introducing that to the world. I mean they pay a third party service to handle all of the electronics and etc etc of those stupid points programs that drives costs up to some degree I mean let's face it they jack the price up and then pretend to give you a fucking discount rather than just selling it to you at the direct price it's a bunch of shit. so even though I'm not necessarily a Kroger fan and I can attest that their prices are ridiculously stupid I can also say the same about Giant eagle I don't see anybody going after Giant eagle I mean what now you're telling me retailers are going to have to seek permission from some government entity in order to change out the price tags oh I know what the hell the digital price tags are about you damn right the prices will go up right in front of you just like the digital signs over at the gas station and or truck stop. but those have been in play for what nearly 20 years now and nobody throws a fit about those...

Truly facing this recession without investment is actually risky, salaries are easily spent off.. This inflation has taught people the importance of multiples income investment helps a lot.
Same here!! I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my portfolio for retirement. I'm seeking to invest $190K across markets but don't know where to start
It's a wise idea to seek expert advice when you're setting up an investment portfolio because it can be a bit complicated.

Here in Florida Aldi bought Winn Dixie and its terrible. 75% of employees will be let go. If ALDI does not do good in an area they close the store. Small towns will be stuck.
They just need to keep increasing prices like big lots, dollar dtore ,zayres ,sears, service merchandise, Albertsons, did .
BABYLON FINISHED!¡!
That was embarrassing.
And the Vatican/Rothschild banker mafia controllers that bought the false Israel into existence destroying the Middle East and everything good in this world aren't the Babylon you commented about?

So what is it you don't get about the NWO
Nothing, and that's what I want from the nwo😅
I knew it was all over years ago when stores could no longer afford an inside ceiling 😅
😂
What's all over? Nothing. Store chains always go out of business or merge with somebody else. There is no damn collapse.
End times is now Jesus is coming back revelation still has to happen and Matthew 24 has the signs
That was embarrassing.

Kroger has become expensive. I could actually get cheaper rice noodles and tuna at my corner mom and Pop… how is that possible?. even the cat food is cheaper at my mom and Pop store than it is at Kroger. They’re just becoming overpriced.
quality?
Kroger operates as Smith's in Utah, and has some of the highest prices around.
Publix in florida. 🎉
I didn't know Kroger exist until just 2 years ago when my husband mentioned that there is a store his grandpa goes to alot
Fortune 500
All praise To the KHAN!! For preventing this merger. As it would’ve resulted in a massive increase in grocery prices. As it would’ve resulted in lack of competition.
Hit 250k today. Appreciate you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last months. Started with 24k in July 2024
Sounds good, how do you do that? I'm interested, how do I go about getting started?
Do you invest with a professional broker??I'd appreciate it if you show me how to go about it.
MARSH SUPERMARKET was an Indiana based supermarket that went Belly Up several years ago. I blame Management for the downfall of MARSH, BURGER CHEF and other similar businesses.
Yeah because of these big box stores what can I say and of course they want to hold on to their profits
Maybe Kroger is hurting due to people not liking surge pricing!
its predatory
Sounds like only CostCo, WalMart and Amazon will be left...
Local farmers
I recall in early 90s we had a super Kroger store built in the late 80s. We loved it. Had a little mini diner my grandparents loved to take a break. The union voted in PA and Kroger pulled out of PA. We were so disappointed 😞.
Kroger Employees are Union members. If a Union would get in to a Walmart, Walmart would close the store and/or warehouse.
Unions damage business. Democommunists.
It's happened before
You would think that if companies tried LOWERING prices they might be able to compete again.
A lot of stores will go out of business during the Trump administration.
Wouldn't matter whichever one, they printed their 25 trillion dollars in the last 10 years... They ain't helping nobody, I just going to sit back and watch the economy collapse... By the basics sugar flour oil..
Good thing they didn't come to Canada they wouldn't last long, ... surprised target still exists in usa, didn’t the ceo abd executive's get fired after losing in Canada a few years ago?
Kroger left Pennsylvania back in the late 1980's so I say let them go out business, good riddance!!!!!!!!!
The dirty secret of capitalism is that you must always keep increasing profits, it’s not a system set to work at a constant level or decrease in economic activity and still work. Profits must always increase or you get inflation because the companies will not settle for a non increase in profits.
It will be from mismanagement, I was in one of these stores today, prices are skyrocketing!!!
its not even real food if it isnt against an outside wall
Good, the way Kroger responded during the coof, they lost customers and deserve it
Mr doom&gloom has been saying get ready for the collapse for nine years……so I guess we should get ready for the collapse 🤪🤪🤪
Where else you going to get your daily dose of economic doom and gloom?
The problem is at least two year on. Customers under financial pressure have stopped, and I mean stopped, buying unnecessary products one department at a time. The silly stuff had high margins and basic foods are priced too low to make any money. Now, the only stuff that sells is the basics and many stores simply can't stay open. It will get very messy.
Law suits probably. I love Krogers. Convenient for gas and locations.

Shop at Kroger and save on gas $$$😮 Sadly the ONLY BEEF they sell is " NOLAN RYAN " and is NOT cheap 😢
@@BV-Auto
Oh
Not true about prices at Kroger. They are much lower than Albertsons’ prices. And they are quite similar to WalMart in pricing.
The Kroger stores in NM are doing great. Cheaper prices than Albertsons and much better rewards program than Albertsons.
Quite similar.
The ***UNIONS*** pushed them out!!

Thank you to "The Voice" for another informative video. Looking forward to more videos in 2025.
With earnings at $3.77 per share it doesn't seem like Kroger should be having any financial trouble.
Merry Christmas ..
Looks like they are being stolen out of business ..
For the most part ..
Add all the other risks .,
Even in our "high income" area of SC, Kroger has installed gates at one entrance with alarms for trying to exit there.
@ That’s fairly clear isn’t it .. Thank You .,
They are having trouble with lawless people.. some working IN the store.
They were probably union employees.
That's a nice theory but in the real world sometimes the customer is an idiot or an ahole 😅
@@dissy5563
One instance they had selzer water on sale.
Sometimes Kroger employees are idiots or an ahole 😂🤣
The employees were probably doing what they were told to do by management. They can’t afford to lose their jobs.
What do you expect from a union company?
HEB has been opening stores across DFW giving them competion.
Nooooooo!
Shouldn't Kroger have waited until the merger went through?
Well I noticed in their pickup section…it’s between two guys now that bring out the food. It used to have several women and several men. Now it’s like “hi I just wanted to call to let you know your order is running late” every time now. Which I don’t trip on that… but it did dawn on me they downsized their staff big time. And yes…call me lazy if you want…I don’t care. I’m socially lazy so yeah I do the pickup quite a bit. I hear it from my husband all the time …believe me…of how pathetic it is not to go in the store myself
The Kroger stores in our area are old and in need of updates. Prices hit and miss. Using Aldis and Walmart for the most part.
On Dec. 11, 2024 Albertsons called off it's merger with Kroger.
We like Kroger Boost in Florida and Aldi have the best prices on groceries we have Publix Winn Dixie which is owned by Aldi our Walmart is not really safe they’re losing customers due to this
Store are closed

Krogers bid to merger, is TRASH MONOPOLY PLAY! I am GLAD WA State said NOW WAY! Kroger quality is questionable at best as they push house brands more and more! THANKS for sharing ! !
The Kroger near me stays packed
Greed and mismanagement. They say theft…but only because of their original greed. During covid they put in self check outs and cameras on every isle… then changed them again 6 months later. Stop trying to watch customers and start serving customers again!! 🤷♀️
Surge pricing = hyperinflation...prices can change multiple times in one day!
End times aren’t now. We have been In the end times from the the death of the last apostle till now. It’s in the catechism of the Catholic Church
Are you catholic? Do you know who the biblical a_n_t_i.c.h.r.i.s.t is?
Over priced and over stored. Good riddance.
Or, they're closing the ones that aren't profitable..
I can't afford Kroger's prices.
Albertsons has turned into a dump most are closed in Florida
Oh great, now we have AI prices on our foods. More price manipulation.
In Canada Walmart everywhere like an McDonald's, in every town,
why is the stock ATH?
Soon we will get all our food from one grocery chain.
Always remember monopoly is best. Lol
Not all ... still Farmers markets, just got look for one
Large corporations create expensive bureaucracy and overpaid suits in the home
Office, here is an interesting statistic, jewel grocery stores in Chicagoland are both union and the most profitable divisions for Albertsons.
Albertsons should have just brought Washington only Kroger stores ....
Fred Meyer was good before it sold to Kroger.
Kroger's is Right Albertsons is not entitled in Albertsons was in financial trouble looking for Kroger for a handout
