Ah the days of waiting with others in Aden with everything we needed except a healer to go farming XP lol. There's a yt vid with just the themes from Lineage 2 cities - it's really nostalgic. I'll never forget my 1st time entering the trading town of Giran and seeing countless private player shops. It was an amazing game back then.
I never played the game before but when I tried Lineage 2 reborn vanilla private server recently, I went to this city as a new player, idk what it was called and it had so many private shops my game got like 9 fps, while I can play cyberpunk fine. There were like 100s of shops
Lineage 2 was best from c3 to kamael, when guides were not available to ruin gaming experience, clans actually meant something and the game relied on tax and economy handled entirely by players meaning you actually had to buy stuff from npcs and therefore contribute a sum to the zlliance that held said territory, while crafters and players were real time trading loot and items on markets set up in popular towns. The only mmo where mass 300 v 300 pvp wars were fought with actual crafted siege weapons and hired npc mercenaries. At some point nc soft fired all talent for leaking engine and from that moment the game continued in a terrible direction
Good ol' days. Playing 10-14 hours daily during the weekends. Remember aliances politics and that pure rivalry between them, clan hierarchy that motivated you to play and help, great PVP where I 5v1 wiped whole party with destro in cata cause they tried to take my spot, sieges, PK system etc. That game had everything. Maybe also thanks to the fact there was not many other games but it still was something we won't get anymore. I am grateful I could have been part of it. Almost not playing games nowdays but every time Lineage 2 is mentioned somewhere my heart instantly fall back in the days with a big smile on my face and I feel the need to play it again. L2 forever.

Current versions of Lineage 2 are a mere carcass of its former self, Lineage 2 died back in 2011 with release of the Goddess of destruction version when it turned F2P. The only hope for someone looking for a "close enough" experience of old Lineage 2 nowadays is though low rates privates servers like L2 Reborn for example.
True! I'm really surprised that people still play L2 officially despite its objective weaknesses in comparison to the "classic" version. And I'm even more surprised that NCSOFT or some other publisher does not want to revive it.
@@CtrlAlexDel I'm pretty sure that the only people who play L2 now days are playing because of what I think is spelled the "sum/cost phalicy". Basically, the more you play a game, the harder it is to stop because if you do, all the time played would have been wasted.

Lineage2 was a grind. And that is why I loved it and played it for something like 10 years on the official servers. I quit when it went Free2Play because it didn't feel the same. Bots were a massive problem back then. I had no idea its still going.
WoW is not even close to old Lineage 2. This was the best MMO ever ever ever. So many good memories with PvP. Such PvP don't exist in any game anymore. I'm not surprised about all the grind you have to do. Back then we needed weeks/months to get 1 level and we were all ok with it. That hardcore grinding Korean MMO was the best ❤️
I played a lot of L2 back in the early 2000s, but I played as a PP, and God damn did the devs hate that class and boy did playing a buffer class make me realize how poorly the game was designed overall. PP did really well in 1 v 1 Olympiad with twinked out characters, so they never got any buffs to their skills. It wasn't because the PP was especially strong or had a lot or survivability, it was because buffs were just way too strong and facing anyone without buffs meant that you would lose. I still look for games that have separated support into healing and buffing because of L2, but they honestly didn't do it well. Ironically another NCSoft game did buff-debuff support amazingly well: City of Heroes.
The same applied for Bishops, as it was a real pain to level up solo, as he didn't have a lot of attack skills except the ones against the undead. And the number of undead was too small for leveling 😂
best pvp of any mmo is Runescape (OSRS) in my opinion... Actual Risk/Reward... and though there is some element of RNG. there's a very high skill sealing too. if you don't know what you're doing. it doesn't matter what gear you're wearing or if you have the better stats. you'll get smoked.
Many years ago auto skill isnt available so you need to make macro to farm.. the best thing about l2 is the clan, were you build friendship and teamwork... Pvp are awesome especially when its a balance server
The only server that is left worth playing right now imo is Asterios. Its a modified High Five chronicle, its obvisouly russian, its been in the market for a decade or so, and very friendly to the internationals. They keep launching a classic server every second year or so which beats all records of online players (16k concurrent players on a single server i think?). They have an always online x5 server and a seasonal x7 server. Best time i've ever spent was on Asterios, even tho i started back in C4 days.
Yeah, unfortunately, the CIS region is the only place to experience the oldschool L2 with no modern BS. Fortunately, at least such servers exist and allow for reliving nostalgia :)
IMHO L2 was actually fantastic until C6, very good until Kamael and payable until Gracia Final. Still remember my first time entering Dion and the town's nostalgic tune, and also the very start of the grind in order to get second class advancement and gear. The best online gaming experience that there has ever been, I have stopped gaming over 10 years entirely but would hop on anytime in anything resembling old skool L2.
Sometimes if im feeling nostalgic, i make a quick download of private server. H5 mostly. Suits our need for the sentimental by fast level up and easy. Everything is unlocked. We can go almost directly to pvps. But the only problem with these PS is that they also made all the buffs available. No restrictions. Its no fun like that. Sometimes i go around and challenge ppl to pvp with olimpiad buffs only. Felt even closer to our time shining back then when we won olimpiad😆. The unique traits of each toons is then highlighted.
at the last quest you need to farm 300.000 mobs, before that you need 160.000, 80.000 etc. this game WAS one of the best games.. it is true.. but like all the good things.. it ended also around 10 years ago..

The real Lineage starts when you realize your position to the server. As you level up, as you become stronger, as you making friends, as you receive respect, you become a piece of the community. Me and my brother spends total of 5k$. Which is nothing compared to our guild boss. Which own a nissan car dealership. We were literally burn money 🤑 💰 . And the one feature that counted as money / second is cp pot.... Auto used that with bot settings and cost around 1$/minute. Usually during casltle siege 😆.
I didnt even know l2 is pay2win. We were so crazy at grinding we were playing with the people who invested money. You could also level up COV or smth like that and sell buffs XD
My original comment was deleted dont know why, but your review was really great.Fun fact is that after you reach lvl105, they have removed every possible way to make adena in the game,and you cannot even kill lvl105 mobs without investing 1000$+ for get low-medium tier gear, so you are 100% content locked from the whole game PVE wise, this game is totally unplayable for new players.
i came back after few years and spent 25€ for blessed exalted armor and weapon and oh boy that set is better than my +8 r99 and my 12 weapon lol but you can definitely kill 105+ moobs

I played back in C3-C5 (best years imo) and l logged it to try out the game and thought it was cool things were soo much easier now, but then I wondered......how do you make adena, what's the point of this game, where's the community, pvp, world exploration, etc.....I asked people in game "hey how do you get adena or loots"...nobody answered and I think this is why. I'm not sure who this game would even appeal to anymore. It's like login and watch the game play itself and.....???? I'm glad my old toon is there, and some of the world I remember, but it looks like this game was abandoned longgggggg ago. It's a body without a soul.

LIneage 2 is definiely a dead game when it comes to popularity. However everyone that has played it in the past will undoubtedly feel the nostalgia and return ( to private servers ) every once and a while, I certainly do. What's left however is mainly enjoying pvp servers as nobody has the time anymore to farm 24/7 for gear.
i started on hb chronicle on dex...well farming and get some afther it whas a rlly good thing,now you need to farm w/o get any reward and adena drop is so low that you can't afford to buy even de consumable:))) hey,they wanna combat rmt but even in store they are so expensive that i should make my char from therre only if i whas bill gates:)))
Something i keep seeing in all the comments i agree with, I miss the old days, L2 was my 1st mmorpg and while it will always be my favourite it is just a hollow cash cow husk of what it was. I started on a private server, cant even remember the name now but moved to another called L2nuLL. Not sure if anyone remembers it but they both got shutdown due to toxic higher level players sitting at teleport spawn locations like the entrance to antharas cave and pk'ing low levels and the were super toxic and relentless. They were grinding player kills from low levels to the point new players couldnt advance any further so they had no choice but to quit. No new players means nobody is joining the game, people got bored and started to slowly leave until the servers were so dead the hosts shut it down. The game was so much fun but the toxicity of the playerbase and the management who did nothing to help the situation (ours and other clans put many tickets and warnings that if they do nothing game will die) but not only did they not listen they told us "stop crying" and "get better" (i was in the top clan at the time lol). We tried to help new players by killing off pk'ers but in the end it wasnt enough. Such a shame, it was a wonderful game..
Cannot agree more! I only wish someone would buy the rights for L2 and make official OG L2 servers with no bs and affordable sub like OS RuneScape has.

I just stumbled over this video - if you want to have the real lineage2 experience there are a bunch of free servers around , i would choose a x5 Server High Five or older , and nothing is automated , you play the character as it was intended to be
From the best game ever at 2003-2008, they started messing up with it, then messing up more, then god patch came out. People get hyped with this new update, was a bit cool but still worse than before, then keep messing up on next updates, people left and then keep messing up since they were no people to cooperate so they added solo pve mode and auto hunting, there are more than 50k people playing lineage2 but on private servers
I'm going to be correcting some stuff. Dark elven prophets don't exist. the only prophet is human. Shillien Elder was the class and it could recharge and buff and heal. Elven Elder can also buff recharge and heal. Orcs had 2 buffers. Warcryer for party. Overlord (3rd class Dominator) for Clan/Ally. Also Elves and Dark Elves have bards for dances/songs. You never Needed to have every class in a party, only specifics. As you can only have 9 people in a party. You saying Dominator(orc mage/buffer) and Gladiator(human fighter) being the best is the weirdest thing, as they are the furthest things apart. Unless you meant Destroyers (orc fighter). Dominators could only be the best if you have infinite mana, as their skills consume a lot!
l2 official used to be extremly hard to level up, the real reason people choose that game was for open world pvp [everywhere as long as it was outside of towns] olympiad systems, clans, sieges
True! It was especially painful being a mage without any access to mana regeneration. I remember the "golden times" when you had to wait for regen after killing just one mob :D

@@CtrlAlexDel 105 isnt something hard to get there. After your daily gameplay is to make daily party instances and raids and after you finish those you can farm grind mobs on rest of the day
Actually they launched Classic servers back in 2017. It wasn't pay to win and it was subscribtion based and guess what.. It failed, because most people thought that it was too hard to grind and classic servers are now only available for Korean and Russian players. It's not NCSoft, that killed L2. Whiny players forgot how hard C1-C4 experience was and they quit real fast. They killed it.
Oh really? I never knew that! That's unfortunate to be honest. Maybe someone else will develop a game with similar approach to gameplay, grinding and PVP, which will be fun to play
Well i tryed that because of the nostalgia i had, you could play for free but when you took a subscription on the classic servers then you got permanent double exp boost... Demotivating allot of players that did not want to spend money. And at the start of the servers you had allot of these higher lvl paying players bullying the shit out of lower lvls in Dion for example.
Very amazing narration bro. L2 was the game of my life and plaied it for years ofc H5 max so no auto hunt and other crazy stuff. But graphically it has aged quite alot :( And yeah not worth playing it now, it's not the L2 it was, it became absolutely something else and also inattractive. Sigh.

Lineage 2 was way better than WoW back on realese. WoW was a "my first MMO" type game, L2 was a bit more grindy (korean) and generally involved more "skill". In the west, WoW did a ton better because Blizzard were a ton better than NCSoft at advertising. Reason people play WoW still now is only nostalgia, the game hasn't aged well and people still chase those good old days, which they won't get back.
True! Even during my teenage years, I've tried the private servers of WoW and it didn't stick somehow. I really wish that someday oldschool Lineage will be published by a lot more responsible company. As for the WoW, I reviewed it recently and it changed a lot, especially in terms of graphics and overall feel of playing. But yeah, still didn't stick that much :)
I always played lineage 2 and refused to play others mmo because i love l2 . I have a Big project. the old l2 must to back and better and become the N1 . My prob is the lack of means. But to change all that I decided to lean the computer programmer. I contacted ncsoft . either they will interessed and I do the best l2 of the world or I create my mmo . that I say is really not a joke. Im very serious. sorry for the bad english ... Im french . It was designed for a different era in gaming and internet culture. I miss that era, but I don't think any game can adapt enough to compensate for a 20-year old engine.

True! The unofficial servers that host Interlude or High Five are really fun to play from time to time. Unfortunately, they have wipes or closures too often. Shame that NCSOFT doesn't want to revive it similar to how wow has "classic" and runescape has "oldschool".
Ive no idea where they went so wrong. Classic L2 you would need to write a book to explain so im not gonna do that here, but the last time I touched an official innova server around 2015 they had just had a complete revamp along with the 4th classes introduced etc, it was different from classic but seemed to still be worth playing. But this version they have now where it's an auto farm simulator and every gear piece imaginable is just a rng gacha whether you get an upgrade or not ? Ive no idea who the f wants to play that.
@@Disionable First you have to choose which chronicle you want to play. my personal favourite is Interlude(C6) and after that HighFive. There are plenty of sites like l2topzone that feature many servers.
@@Disionable It depends on a lot of factors like rates or PVP/PVE focus of the server. My recommendation for you to google the ratings of private servers in your region and choose the one that suits you the most. The only think I'd suggest you look for is the longevity of the server, as a lot of them disappear rather quickly.

Without $ you cant kill even single mob after 105 lvl game is done to spend 6000$ for simple farm and grind.To do pvp 20k$ is min to hit anybody.How long you dont log alter character.Simply they drain money from addicted ppl.That is what they do fight with anybody who sell and trade count him adena seller. This game was balanced around it's orginal content between Chronicle 1 and Chronicle 5. After that it started going downhill. The reason why progressing in this game is so boring is because nowadays there are barely any newbes in the early-mid zones. Also you should consider yourself lucky, back in the days when max lvl was 90? you needed like 2 weeks of farming to get 1% on XP bar, there was no auto-farming unless you used botting program and if you died you lost 4% on XP bar xD
lineage II and WOW are the greatest lineage II was very popular especially with private servers to this day we got few 100s of them on going lol . i stop playing official when they did the big change ...and everyone left lol millions of ppl empty the game over night
In other words - what happens if you turn your game into a cash grab and fire any real talent available NcSoft don't even care anymore and here I am still hoping for the next Lineage to be better ( at least it's announced now)

The game was good back then just because it had different role model, you could do your sessions in many different ways which was something different from other games which was offering you only Quest based progress, also it had big varity of classes which made them unique together with different type of sets.
try Undecember, August 30 it opens new season. It has microtransactions in it but you can freely complete all 13 acts without spending any real money and still enjoy and have great expierience @@CtrlAlexDel
Hi! Try searching for unofficial servers, there's def a chance that there're a lot of them in your region and they're def better than the official ones. Try googling something like "L2 Interlude Spanish server" and choose the one with most players online.
usually there is two business models, but in this case devs made new one. F2W, P2W and EH2W which means: Enslave humans to Win. devs of this game should be put in jail at least 20 years, to be more fair lifetime
Yeah it is terrible if player base is that low. But even before GRIND was main source of well EVERYTHING. Grind for Adena, exp, items, etc... That's part of game, not quests. And other part is PvP ofc, that is what mater in L2. If there are no active players, clans, castle sieges, raids etc, than it is not worth to play it now. But if someone want to "play" just to be "playing something" by auto playing, than its good game, haha. For people who work all day and don't have hours to play it can be something, like auto progress, assuming you don't get PKed.
THO there is huge dark part of this game that I didn't mention , as it was before, its Pay to Win! You need to spend a lot of real life money to achieve anything in PvP which is sad tbh...
L2 use to be awesome I plaied it from C1 to gracia pt 2... castle sieges were one of my fav thing besides hunting world bosses. Class and races actualy matter cuz of diferent benefits and skills.. after awekening they screwed everything up.. all classes had one common clas so race didn't rly matter anymore.. and bots holy.. f... sooo many bots..
Remake is bs. In old LA2 you would do quests in exchange for items or as work for good pay. It was casual monster hunt to me. I don't need a game to teleport me around and investigate crap.
If he would play longer to a higher level then he could as well comment on the Wall. The wall when get almost no xp from monsters and you are not stronf enough to grind in hugher level areas because the monsters are too strong. Basically stuck with beginner set and items and no money and no means to obtain better gear.
You're right, this is not l2 and for me i dont see fun inside there.. but also all of servers alive are low ppl to be a good server... The good old l2 times will never come back again this is sad....
Thanks for the Video BUT "Quote" from Video ; For Example, Dark elven Prophets were the Only Class in the Entire Game who could Restore other Players' mana, and it was the only means of recovering mana for the Mages and Fighters. "Quote End" Ehh I know you said you played Official Servers but maybe just maybe you dont remember correctly .. Dark and Light Elf "Healing" Classes could recharge. Also Duno if you named it Dark Elven Prophet cause you dont remember the correct name of its Class but Prophet was a Class only accessable by Human Race. I found so many Wrong Information already in first 5 mins of Video, please do Proper Research before giving out False Infos.

Lineage 2. Wished to experience that nostalgic feeling once again so I also played it in 2022. It was horrible, as the reviewer stated, the entire game has been bullshitted to a point you can not even compare it to how it was. A damn shame and disappointment.
There are soem serevrs taht you can play, tehre's a lot fo people and the game is fun, like ElmoreLab, but the moment you start playing, you realize how you dont have that ammount of time to play it. We grew up we have stuff to do :/

I gave my best wow but ended with multiple accounts and computers botting living crap out of it instead of playing it. I remember when my friend came with HD and installed it into my pc just to copy L2 because he had a shitty net. Imagine such respect to come and hardcore copy it :D Also i remember how shocked i was ... that I CAN DO W/E i want. And i did literally just that ... i farmed Keltirs for 10 hours ... until my friend came and told me that i will not get any xp because they are too low lvl now ... It was an array of wrong decisions and non-user-friendly updates making the game simply not interesting to play. The private servers, at the same time, manage to capture that nostalgia feeling of grind and PVP-content.
nah, iam gonna disagree. I play lineage ll for almost 17 years. The "New" Lineage ll is different of course from the L2 that you where playing. Auto hunting have been introduced because people where doing keyboard/mouse macros either way cause most of them work. Level cap has changed significantly, balance is real and in a siege, a boss fight, a clan pvp and xp parties you still need your supports as they provide higher level of buffs and special buffs each race. I do play as a buffer got decent gear from grinding. No donation at all. I can follow high level players and support. But the truth is that you have to grind to get gear/levels. Buying gear or lvl's is just an option. Now from a damage dealer view its different. Its hard to xp after 110 for a free to play player if they dont run all the daylies task and instances. Plues there are a lot of side quests that could help a newb free to play player to enchance even a little his damage output. And there is a lot of active players and community but not at low levels like 100 as you are. I mean every day there are parties in Blazing swamp to xp people from 99-105 in les than 2 days. After 105 you can find a better party to xp. and you move on to the next zone. The early quests give you gear and they are not so hard to farm honestly. You were playing with 2-3 skills while you can use almost all your skills and kill faster and bigger clusters of mobs instead of single target. 99-105 is easy.

@@CtrlAlexDel well it still has the same basics. its still the same game. but as all the games progress every ear so did L2. I mean no game is the same as it was 15 years before xD. At interlude we had 80 lvl cap in h5 85 + more classes. Its just progress.

I've reviewed more than 20 mmos on this channel and I kinda don't know what can replace L2 :D The closest thing I feel is New World, which is centered around gathering, crafting and grinding for eventual pvp and pve-boss endgame. I'll make a review for it soon, as well.
@@CtrlAlexDel I will look up your reviews, sadly New World didn't feel right, too many cheating options, the platform that this game was build, it was suppose to be used for a different game, shooter if I'm not mistaken, that's why at launch it was such a mess.. and at least a year afterwards.. Currently, the only ones giving slight hope is Tarisland, Corepunk and later on, after few years.. Nightmare world (which has started as a joke) but going strong with a strong team. Oh, and Riot upcoming mmo as well
I've bought it on a recent Steam sale and my first reaction was to refund it immediately :D because it's such a technical mess, it was impossible to play. Eventually, I've got used to that BS (especially lags in the cities) and enjoyed crafting and gathering (because I just love gathering and crafting). My only hope that they'll make it work somehow, as even FF14 didn't launch well and still managed to become a better MMO. Thanks for suggesting Tarisland and Corepunk, I've subbed for beta on those haha. As for now, the only MMO that I've enjoyed the most was Warframe. Enjoyed it so much that I had to delete it to review other games :D

L2 is the only game I have ever played healer, and only cause it was so easy to get parties.

Lineage 2 was best from c3 to kamael, when guides were not available to ruin gaming experience, clans actually meant something and the game relied on tax and economy handled entirely by players meaning you actually had to buy stuff from npcs and therefore contribute a sum to the zlliance that held said territory, while crafters and players were real time trading loot and items on markets set up in popular towns. The only mmo where mass 300 v 300 pvp wars were fought with actual crafted siege weapons and hired npc mercenaries. At some point nc soft fired all talent for leaking engine and from that moment the game continued in a terrible direction
Yeah, it really was like that. Oh well, I wish there'll be some MMO that offers the same gameplay some day.
Good ol' days. Playing 10-14 hours daily during the weekends. Remember aliances politics and that pure rivalry between them, clan hierarchy that motivated you to play and help, great PVP where I 5v1 wiped whole party with destro in cata cause they tried to take my spot, sieges, PK system etc. That game had everything. Maybe also thanks to the fact there was not many other games but it still was something we won't get anymore. I am grateful I could have been part of it. Almost not playing games nowdays but every time Lineage 2 is mentioned somewhere my heart instantly fall back in the days with a big smile on my face and I feel the need to play it again. L2 forever.

Unfortunately, the game went downhill, but maybe some dev in the future will take inspiration from the old days of L2 and make a decent game. Let's hope for the best in this regard :)
Current versions of Lineage 2 are a mere carcass of its former self, Lineage 2 died back in 2011 with release of the Goddess of destruction version when it turned F2P.
The only hope for someone looking for a "close enough" experience of old Lineage 2 nowadays is though low rates privates servers like L2 Reborn for example.
True! I'm really surprised that people still play L2 officially despite its objective weaknesses in comparison to the "classic" version. And I'm even more surprised that NCSOFT or some other publisher does not want to revive it.
@@CtrlAlexDel I'm pretty sure that the only people who play L2 now days are playing because of what I think is spelled the "sum/cost phalicy". Basically, the more you play a game, the harder it is to stop because if you do, all the time played would have been wasted.

Lineage2 was a grind. And that is why I loved it and played it for something like 10 years on the official servers. I quit when it went Free2Play because it didn't feel the same. Bots were a massive problem back then. I had no idea its still going.

I played a lot of L2 back in the early 2000s, but I played as a PP, and God damn did the devs hate that class and boy did playing a buffer class make me realize how poorly the game was designed overall.
PP did really well in 1 v 1 Olympiad with twinked out characters, so they never got any buffs to their skills. It wasn't because the PP was especially strong or had a lot or survivability, it was because buffs were just way too strong and facing anyone without buffs meant that you would lose.
I still look for games that have separated support into healing and buffing because of L2, but they honestly didn't do it well.
Ironically another NCSoft game did buff-debuff support amazingly well: City of Heroes.
The same applied for Bishops, as it was a real pain to level up solo, as he didn't have a lot of attack skills except the ones against the undead. And the number of undead was too small for leveling 😂
best pvp of any mmo is Runescape (OSRS) in my opinion... Actual Risk/Reward... and though there is some element of RNG. there's a very high skill sealing too. if you don't know what you're doing. it doesn't matter what gear you're wearing or if you have the better stats. you'll get smoked.

Many years ago auto skill isnt available so you need to make macro to farm.. the best thing about l2 is the clan, were you build friendship and teamwork... Pvp are awesome especially when its a balance server
I was carrying 2 long pieces of wood recently and remembered my first character: a bladedancer. That was almost 20 years ago...

The only server that is left worth playing right now imo is Asterios. Its a modified High Five chronicle, its obvisouly russian, its been in the market for a decade or so, and very friendly to the internationals. They keep launching a classic server every second year or so which beats all records of online players (16k concurrent players on a single server i think?). They have an always online x5 server and a seasonal x7 server. Best time i've ever spent was on Asterios, even tho i started back in C4 days.
Yeah, unfortunately, the CIS region is the only place to experience the oldschool L2 with no modern BS. Fortunately, at least such servers exist and allow for reliving nostalgia :)

IMHO L2 was actually fantastic until C6, very good until Kamael and payable until Gracia Final. Still remember my first time entering Dion and the town's nostalgic tune, and also the very start of the grind in order to get second class advancement and gear. The best online gaming experience that there has ever been, I have stopped gaming over 10 years entirely but would hop on anytime in anything resembling old skool L2.

Sometimes if im feeling nostalgic, i make a quick download of private server. H5 mostly. Suits our need for the sentimental by fast level up and easy. Everything is unlocked. We can go almost directly to pvps. But the only problem with these PS is that they also made all the buffs available. No restrictions. Its no fun like that. Sometimes i go around and challenge ppl to pvp with olimpiad buffs only. Felt even closer to our time shining back then when we won olimpiad😆. The unique traits of each toons is then highlighted.
Yea… I feel that classes like summoner or buffer are so useless for pvp :| I always play healer and no is completely useless
The nostalgic music of all those towns brings me back to memory lane, I played since L2 C3 till like interlude (which imo is the best version)

You'd be surprised to find out how many people play Lineage 2 on unofficial servers.
at the last quest you need to farm 300.000 mobs, before that you need 160.000, 80.000 etc. this game WAS one of the best games.. it is true.. but like all the good things.. it ended also around 10 years ago..

Me and my brother spends total of 5k$. Which is nothing compared to our guild boss. Which own a nissan car dealership. We were literally burn money 🤑 💰 . And the one feature that counted as money / second is cp pot.... Auto used that with bot settings and cost around 1$/minute. Usually during casltle siege 😆.
I didnt even know l2 is pay2win. We were so crazy at grinding we were playing with the people who invested money. You could also level up COV or smth like that and sell buffs XD
Or people who have no life and will run the game for 24/h a day grinding nonstop

My original comment was deleted dont know why, but your review was really great.Fun fact is that after you reach lvl105, they have removed every possible way to make adena in the game,and you cannot even kill lvl105 mobs without investing 1000$+ for get low-medium tier gear, so you are 100% content locked from the whole game PVE wise, this game is totally unplayable for new players.

I played back in C3-C5 (best years imo) and l logged it to try out the game and thought it was cool things were soo much easier now, but then I wondered......how do you make adena, what's the point of this game, where's the community, pvp, world exploration, etc.....I asked people in game "hey how do you get adena or loots"...nobody answered and I think this is why. I'm not sure who this game would even appeal to anymore. It's like login and watch the game play itself and.....???? I'm glad my old toon is there, and some of the world I remember, but it looks like this game was abandoned longgggggg ago. It's a body without a soul.

LIneage 2 is definiely a dead game when it comes to popularity. However everyone that has played it in the past will undoubtedly feel the nostalgia and return ( to private servers ) every once and a while, I certainly do. What's left however is mainly enjoying pvp servers as nobody has the time anymore to farm 24/7 for gear.
i started on hb chronicle on dex...well farming and get some afther it whas a rlly good thing,now you need to farm w/o get any reward and adena drop is so low that you can't afford to buy even de consumable:))) hey,they wanna combat rmt but even in store they are so expensive that i should make my char from therre only if i whas bill gates:)))
Something i keep seeing in all the comments i agree with, I miss the old days, L2 was my 1st mmorpg and while it will always be my favourite it is just a hollow cash cow husk of what it was. I started on a private server, cant even remember the name now but moved to another called L2nuLL. Not sure if anyone remembers it but they both got shutdown due to toxic higher level players sitting at teleport spawn locations like the entrance to antharas cave and pk'ing low levels and the were super toxic and relentless. They were grinding player kills from low levels to the point new players couldnt advance any further so they had no choice but to quit. No new players means nobody is joining the game, people got bored and started to slowly leave until the servers were so dead the hosts shut it down. The game was so much fun but the toxicity of the playerbase and the management who did nothing to help the situation (ours and other clans put many tickets and warnings that if they do nothing game will die) but not only did they not listen they told us "stop crying" and "get better" (i was in the top clan at the time lol). We tried to help new players by killing off pk'ers but in the end it wasnt enough. Such a shame, it was a wonderful game..
Cannot agree more! I only wish someone would buy the rights for L2 and make official OG L2 servers with no bs and affordable sub like OS RuneScape has.

I just stumbled over this video - if you want to have the real lineage2 experience there are a bunch of free servers around , i would choose a x5 Server High Five or older , and nothing is automated , you play the character as it was intended to be

From the best game ever at 2003-2008, they started messing up with it, then messing up more, then god patch came out. People get hyped with this new update, was a bit cool but still worse than before, then keep messing up on next updates, people left and then keep messing up since they were no people to cooperate so they added solo pve mode and auto hunting, there are more than 50k people playing lineage2 but on private servers

L2 in 2000 it was from other world game...
I'm going to be correcting some stuff. Dark elven prophets don't exist. the only prophet is human. Shillien Elder was the class and it could recharge and buff and heal. Elven Elder can also buff recharge and heal. Orcs had 2 buffers. Warcryer for party. Overlord (3rd class Dominator) for Clan/Ally. Also Elves and Dark Elves have bards for dances/songs. You never Needed to have every class in a party, only specifics. As you can only have 9 people in a party. You saying Dominator(orc mage/buffer) and Gladiator(human fighter) being the best is the weirdest thing, as they are the furthest things apart. Unless you meant Destroyers (orc fighter). Dominators could only be the best if you have infinite mana, as their skills consume a lot!

l2 official used to be extremly hard to level up, the real reason people choose that game was for open world pvp [everywhere as long as it was outside of towns] olympiad systems, clans, sieges
True! It was especially painful being a mage without any access to mana regeneration. I remember the "golden times" when you had to wait for regen after killing just one mob :D
Game start from 105 lvl nowdays. After that you can find clan and cp to get main content and do some group stuff dailys etc

Actually they launched Classic servers back in 2017. It wasn't pay to win and it was subscribtion based and guess what.. It failed, because most people thought that it was too hard to grind and classic servers are now only available for Korean and Russian players. It's not NCSoft, that killed L2. Whiny players forgot how hard C1-C4 experience was and they quit real fast. They killed it.
Oh really? I never knew that! That's unfortunate to be honest. Maybe someone else will develop a game with similar approach to gameplay, grinding and PVP, which will be fun to play
Well i tryed that because of the nostalgia i had, you could play for free but when you took a subscription on the classic servers then you got permanent double exp boost... Demotivating allot of players that did not want to spend money. And at the start of the servers you had allot of these higher lvl paying players bullying the shit out of lower lvls in Dion for example.

Very amazing narration bro. L2 was the game of my life and plaied it for years ofc H5 max so no auto hunt and other crazy stuff. But graphically it has aged quite alot :( And yeah not worth playing it now, it's not the L2 it was, it became absolutely something else and also inattractive. Sigh.

Lineage 2 was way better than WoW back on realese. WoW was a "my first MMO" type game, L2 was a bit more grindy (korean) and generally involved more "skill".
In the west, WoW did a ton better because Blizzard were a ton better than NCSoft at advertising.
Reason people play WoW still now is only nostalgia, the game hasn't aged well and people still chase those good old days, which they won't get back.
True! Even during my teenage years, I've tried the private servers of WoW and it didn't stick somehow. I really wish that someday oldschool Lineage will be published by a lot more responsible company.
As for the WoW, I reviewed it recently and it changed a lot, especially in terms of graphics and overall feel of playing. But yeah, still didn't stick that much :)

I always played lineage 2 and refused to play others mmo because i love l2 . I have a Big project. the old l2 must to back and better and become the N1 . My prob is the lack of means. But to change all that I decided to lean the computer programmer. I contacted ncsoft . either they will interessed and I do the best l2 of the world or I create my mmo . that I say is really not a joke. Im very serious.

True! The unofficial servers that host Interlude or High Five are really fun to play from time to time. Unfortunately, they have wipes or closures too often. Shame that NCSOFT doesn't want to revive it similar to how wow has "classic" and runescape has "oldschool".

Ive no idea where they went so wrong. Classic L2 you would need to write a book to explain so im not gonna do that here, but the last time I touched an official innova server around 2015 they had just had a complete revamp along with the 4th classes introduced etc, it was different from classic but seemed to still be worth playing.
But this version they have now where it's an auto farm simulator and every gear piece imaginable is just a rng gacha whether you get an upgrade or not ? Ive no idea who the f wants to play that.
If you want to play Lineage for the nostalgia just download a private server and enjoy yourself,this game is definately not dead (in private servers)

@@Disionable First you have to choose which chronicle you want to play. my personal favourite is Interlude(C6) and after that HighFive. There are plenty of sites like l2topzone that feature many servers.
@@Disionable It depends on a lot of factors like rates or PVP/PVE focus of the server. My recommendation for you to google the ratings of private servers in your region and choose the one that suits you the most. The only think I'd suggest you look for is the longevity of the server, as a lot of them disappear rather quickly.

This game was balanced around it's orginal content between Chronicle 1 and Chronicle 5. After that it started going downhill. The reason why progressing in this game is so boring is because nowadays there are barely any newbes in the early-mid zones. Also you should consider yourself lucky, back in the days when max lvl was 90? you needed like 2 weeks of farming to get 1% on XP bar, there was no auto-farming unless you used botting program and if you died you lost 4% on XP bar xD
L2 is still quite alive in private servers, i play reborn and it has thousand of active players.
lineage II and WOW are the greatest
lineage II was very popular especially with private servers to this day we got few 100s of them on going lol . i stop playing official when they did the big change ...and everyone left lol millions of ppl empty the game over night

The game was good back then just because it had different role model, you could do your sessions in many different ways which was something different from other games which was offering you only Quest based progress, also it had big varity of classes which made them unique together with different type of sets.

Yeah it is terrible if player base is that low. But even before GRIND was main source of well EVERYTHING. Grind for Adena, exp, items, etc... That's part of game, not quests. And other part is PvP ofc, that is what mater in L2.
If there are no active players, clans, castle sieges, raids etc, than it is not worth to play it now. But if someone want to "play" just to be "playing something" by auto playing, than its good game, haha.
For people who work all day and don't have hours to play it can be something, like auto progress, assuming you don't get PKed.
THO there is huge dark part of this game that I didn't mention , as it was before, its Pay to Win! You need to spend a lot of real life money to achieve anything in PvP which is sad tbh...

L2 use to be awesome I plaied it from C1 to gracia pt 2... castle sieges were one of my fav thing besides hunting world bosses. Class and races actualy matter cuz of diferent benefits and skills.. after awekening they screwed everything up.. all classes had one common clas so race didn't rly matter anymore.. and bots holy.. f... sooo many bots..

If he would play longer to a higher level then he could as well comment on the Wall. The wall when get almost no xp from monsters and you are not stronf enough to grind in hugher level areas because the monsters are too strong.
Basically stuck with beginner set and items and no money and no means to obtain better gear.

You're right, this is not l2 and for me i dont see fun inside there.. but also all of servers alive are low ppl to be a good server... The good old l2 times will never come back again this is sad....
Thanks for the Video BUT "Quote" from Video ; For Example, Dark elven Prophets were the Only Class in the Entire Game who could Restore other Players' mana, and it was the only means of recovering mana for the Mages and Fighters. "Quote End" Ehh I know you said you played Official Servers but maybe just maybe you dont remember correctly .. Dark and Light Elf "Healing" Classes could recharge. Also Duno if you named it Dark Elven Prophet cause you dont remember the correct name of its Class but Prophet was a Class only accessable by Human Race.
I found so many Wrong Information already in first 5 mins of Video, please do Proper Research before giving out False Infos.
And still it does not change the core point of the vid telling that it's not L2 anymore. Just an empty shell of what it used to be. Unfortunately.

Lineage 2. Wished to experience that nostalgic feeling once again so I also played it in 2022. It was horrible, as the reviewer stated, the entire game has been bullshitted to a point you can not even compare it to how it was. A damn shame and disappointment.

There are soem serevrs taht you can play, tehre's a lot fo people and the game is fun, like ElmoreLab, but the moment you start playing, you realize how you dont have that ammount of time to play it. We grew up we have stuff to do :/

@@CtrlAlexDel was my first mmo - i never actually fell in love with ANY other mmo ngl. I gave my best wow but ended with multiple accounts and computers botting living crap out of it instead of playing it.
I remember when my friend came with HD and installed it into my pc just to copy L2 because he had a shitty net. Imagine such respect to come and hardcore copy it :D
Also i remember how shocked i was ... that I CAN DO W/E i want. And i did literally just that ... i farmed Keltirs for 10 hours ... until my friend came and told me that i will not get any xp because they are too low lvl now ...

damn, i never played lineage but everyone told me it was a great game when they played it years ago...how did they manage to muck it up so bad ?
It was an array of wrong decisions and non-user-friendly updates making the game simply not interesting to play. The private servers, at the same time, manage to capture that nostalgia feeling of grind and PVP-content.

nah, iam gonna disagree. I play lineage ll for almost 17 years. The "New" Lineage ll is different of course from the L2 that you where playing. Auto hunting have been introduced because people where doing keyboard/mouse macros either way cause most of them work. Level cap has changed significantly, balance is real and in a siege, a boss fight, a clan pvp and xp parties you still need your supports as they provide higher level of buffs and special buffs each race. I do play as a buffer got decent gear from grinding. No donation at all. I can follow high level players and support. But the truth is that you have to grind to get gear/levels. Buying gear or lvl's is just an option. Now from a damage dealer view its different. Its hard to xp after 110 for a free to play player if they dont run all the daylies task and instances. Plues there are a lot of side quests that could help a newb free to play player to enchance even a little his damage output. And there is a lot of active players and community but not at low levels like 100 as you are. I mean every day there are parties in Blazing swamp to xp people from 99-105 in les than 2 days. After 105 you can find a better party to xp. and you move on to the next zone. The early quests give you gear and they are not so hard to farm honestly. You were playing with 2-3 skills while you can use almost all your skills and kill faster and bigger clusters of mobs instead of single target. 99-105 is easy.
Understood, thanks for the tips ;) my biggest concern with L2 as it is now is that it's not like it used to be. I mean, completely, it's something else with the former name.
@@CtrlAlexDel well it still has the same basics. its still the same game. but as all the games progress every ear so did L2. I mean no game is the same as it was 15 years before xD. At interlude we had 80 lvl cap in h5 85 + more classes. Its just progress.
Only EU and RU people played that back in a day. Besides KR ofc.
True! During my teenage years, the only popular western MMO was WoW. But me and my friends were broke to play it 😂 so we had to stick to L2 instead 😎

Yeah, the L2 only exists in the private servers right now, which is a shame tbh. But oh well, at least we've got some other games to play and review :D

The closest thing I feel is New World, which is centered around gathering, crafting and grinding for eventual pvp and pve-boss endgame. I'll make a review for it soon, as well.
@@CtrlAlexDel I will look up your reviews, sadly New World didn't feel right, too many cheating options, the platform that this game was build, it was suppose to be used for a different game, shooter if I'm not mistaken, that's why at launch it was such a mess.. and at least a year afterwards.. Currently, the only ones giving slight hope is Tarisland, Corepunk and later on, after few years.. Nightmare world (which has started as a joke) but going strong with a strong team. Oh, and Riot upcoming mmo as well
I've bought it on a recent Steam sale and my first reaction was to refund it immediately :D because it's such a technical mess, it was impossible to play. Eventually, I've got used to that BS (especially lags in the cities) and enjoyed crafting and gathering (because I just love gathering and crafting). My only hope that they'll make it work somehow, as even FF14 didn't launch well and still managed to become a better MMO.
Thanks for suggesting Tarisland and Corepunk, I've subbed for beta on those haha. As for now, the only MMO that I've enjoyed the most was Warframe. Enjoyed it so much that I had to delete it to review other games :D
