    Just so everyone knows, when I say "Brand new" I don't mean the HSTs I mean the carriages, the carriages have also been in use for years but this set has been newly painted and refurbished for midland Pullman tours to the west highlands.

      Even the Mk3 carriages aren't new. They would have been built back in the '70s/'80s. Just had a refit and a refurb, probably.

    Not sure why they call it the Midland Pullman as the original Blue Pullmans that were designated for the service from Manchester to London St Pancras that carried the Midland Pullman title stopped running when the WCML Electrification trains started running from Manchster to London Euston and these Blue Pullman trains were transfered to the Western Region to run services from London Paddington to South Wales and Birmingham Snow Hill and only had " Pullman " displayed on them

    With the Governments intent to nationalise the railways does this mean that operators like the Pullman will be lost? Also it will be sad to see the loss of all the varied liveries as well, on the ECML we have Lumo with their different way of operating with low price standard class only trains, they were planning for expansion but that will all disappear as we return to the good old days of a British Rail style operator...........not.

    • @Zander_Trains
      @Zander_Trains  3 месяца назад

      @@RushfanUK I’m not sure what will happen, I don’t think that Railtours like the midland Pullman will disappear though. In Scotland ScotRail is owned by the government and we do still see new liveries but I don’t know if the same will apply for the rest of the uk or not. I’m also hoping that nationalisation won’t have too much of an effect on British rail

    The Blue HST train is not new and I caught these two power cars running minus there matching coaches back in 2021. You really need to use a tripod for filming as it will steady your camera phone as you zoom in and out, if you use an iPhone 'Final Cut Pro Camera is great. You really need to use an external microphone with a deadcat windsock to get rid of the wind noise. Great video however

    • @Zander_Trains
      @Zander_Trains  3 месяца назад +2

      @Ashworth-Media thanks for the suggestions, I’m quite new to using a camera instead of a phone and am considering getting a microphone at some point. I have a tripod but I’m still figuring out the best way to film with it which might be why some shots are shaky, the first train came right as I was setting up so had to film without it. Thanks though, I think I will definitely get a mic at some point.

      @@Zander_Trains I was not intending to teach you how to suck eggs more over I was trying to help you, I learnt the hard way and my first few videos where terrible, it's always an idea to know what you will be filming, what angle and location will give you the best shot and if at all possible get there early (helpful if there's a lot of people). Tripods do help a lot, I have a big aluminium one and a smaller plastic one that can sit on a bridge or fence. Zooming in to far and moving the camera can cause shaking, to avoid being to close to the action you can always edit bits out and it's always a good idea to film way more then you will finally use, I reckon that I don't use 1/2 of what I shoot. I usually keep all my basic filming gear in the car in a small aluminium case to jeep everything together.
      I will at some point do a how to film video using basic kit.
