- I decided to drive to Bentonville from California and it took me three days straight. I usually drive to places but able to make stops along the way. This time I couldn’t. I was headed to Bentonville for the bike festival, one of my favorite festivals of the year. This drive felt like it was never going to end. What do you all do on long road trips!? Aside from the drive arriving there was an extremely happy moment. This festival is a great time to see everyone and ride some pretty amazing trails. Bentonville has grown into such a great mtb community. I stayed here for a few days and this was just the beginning. Hope you enjoy and stay tuned for more to come.

Music saves the day for me.. I drove from Scottsdale to Bentonville.. With out music i would have lost my mind.. I rode right by y'all on some trails in Bentonville..lol
Come say hey next time 😊
@@HeatherMunive i saw y'all at the castle. I was standing by Maddie so i said something about the humidity and the air was like breathing swamp water lol.. I will say hello next time!
Nice bike trip. Listening to music, watching the sights, and talking gets as through the trip. Going from Southern Cal to Lake Tahoe up the 395 today. Your video is motivating, thanks! Chevere!, on our way at 6:00 am. 😊
Gracias ❤️
Nice travels. I live in CA and tomorrow I'm moving to Utah for a few months to MTB. I cant wait for my next adventure.
Oh my gosh Utah is going to be sooo fun. So many good trials
Sad to have just now found your channel! I am a Bentonville local! Glad you made it with through our little town.
Are tornadoes common there?
@@barfo281 very rare. maybe the third one in 50 mile radius in my 46 years.
Cool van build. I leave early, before or just after dawn usually. Traffic is light, less wrecks, drink coffee and jam out to whatever I am in the mood for. I also catch up on phone calls, listen to books on "tape" or whatever, make interesting observations along the way and try to stay sane. I've traveled coast to coast in vehicles, motor homes, on motor cycles, not yet by mule train though.
I agree with phone calls too. It’s pretty much the only time I get to catch up to I love it.
I listen to Darkness Prevails and snack when I hit the road, I enjoy driving.. the misses, not so much.
lol good snacks are always helpful
What do I do on long road trips?
Watch Heather Munive MTB videos, of course!
lol: I play the “beat the estimated time game”. It keeps me entertained to see how long it takes me to subtract 1 minute from arrival. Results in a lot of speeding.
Saw you all at The Hub. Being from Colorado, I was dying of humidity! Definitely 100% 😄
Haha the humidity was soooo bad
I go at the end of April, first few days of May a lot better:) I'm from the Springs in CO. Now it's river surfing season here with MTB.
Awesome video Heather I always love every minute of your videos they are amazing to watch. You didn’t your man to help you do that very long road trip. And plenty of snacks and drinks and Pee breaks etc to keep you going. Always looking forward to seeing you again soon 😊
No this one I was solo. But it ended up being enjoyable and I was so excited to arrive and ride bikes.
That snake episode was so funny you guys had me cracking up
Those snakes were huge 😂😅
I did a 10 day drive from SE PA to San Antonio TX last year via Bentonville. First time there and was able to get one day of riding in as the weather wasn't great (but no tornados, fortunately - just rain). Then back home from TX with a stop in Ashville. I survive the solo drives with music - CDs, specifically - because I'm old. Mostly 80's metal bands with a few 80's and 90's alternative thrown in along with an occasional classical CD.
I’m glad you got to ride there it’s soo fun. A ten day drive is no joke. Glad your got it done and was able to explore
Ditching the schedule whenever possible makes roadtripping more fun. Frequent breaks, walks and getting off the beaten path all inject spontaneity. Even if a car trip is done well, travel is almost always better on a motorcycle. 😊
That is soooo true. Anytime I have a time I need to arrive I feel so pressured and the drive doesn’t feel as enjoyable.
@@HeatherMunive 🙌👊
A decent *driving* music album - I'm old so I use CDs 😁- my favourite of all time is The Division Bell by Pink Floyd 👍🏼 I used to play this a lot whilst driving between Kimberley and Cape Town (10 hours) 🙏🏼
That's awesome ill have to look this up on Spotify 😄
Good seeing you at the YT party.
That’s Awesome Driving for 3 Days for epic road trip adventure to ride bikes with friends Spanish Music is the best to keep you going also having good company to help and talk too is the best bentonville trails are amazing Nice that you had a wonderful time riding bikes with Madison Pitts and Jarrod Adcock 😀😘😘😘😍😍😍🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I plan stops near MTB rides. That helps me get from stop to stop. There are trails all over the country
kinda surprised you havent installed a double din on the van with car play/android auto. its nice 😆!!
Bentonville looks great! Pour- over coffee is the best.
So good. And Bentonville is always so good. The trails just keep going.
Oh no. Was in Bentonville for Memorial Day and bike festival and the storm was brutal. Luckily I got a full day of riding on Saturday but the rest of the trip was kind of blown
First of all, you need a phone holder for the sprinter. We listened to SiriusXM on our long 6hr drive from Dallas. Listened to the Highway, Hair Nation, Classic Rewind, Howard Stern, all different kinds of music without commercial interuption.
Awesome Heather!
🎼🎵🎵🎶Music is the only thing that makes surviving road trips possible🎶🎸🎸Plus the promise of a GOOD RIDE at the end.
Couple things I like to do to kill time when I’m on the road. DEFINITELY Satellite Radio and Podcast, I also like to FaceTime Family, Friends Etc!! If your ever in Ohio area you’ll have to get ahold of me. Love the content and of course THE VAN. Lol Take Care and Stay Safe out there.
Good mrng lol, be safe.
Is there any places to park the van overnight for free? I have a slide 8n truck camper and want to head down there, just not sure where i would stay? Some walmarts don't allow overnight anymore, is there a truck stop or cracker barrel or places by back 40?
I'm right above you in Missouri it's been hot and humid here for a month straight
Audiobooks 😅. Your family and you did amazing job with your van/home. Perfect for you lifestyle. 😊
Thank you ❤️
Great video as usual Heather and Madison. Was this before or after the storm. Anneke showed lots of damage. Hope you are safe. Luv the van
I drive 10-14 hours a day, unless I stop to ride along the way (which is ideal imo). Audible, YT vids (audio only), and music keep me going, as does coffee and red bull.I also use a white noise machine when I sleep, especially around semis.
I think my max was 16 hours. Now I try and only do at the very most ten. I should have stopped to ride on this trip it would have helped
Nice watch!
We were up there in April and heading back in two weeks!!!
So fun!!!
Awesome video
🫶
Bentonville is on my to do list!!
I can’t wait till you get to visit. Such a great spot
Awesome to meet you out at the fest. That's a beast of a drive solo. Nice one! And Bentonville was so epic...except for Sunday. (@in10zmtb)
Oh my gosh Sunday was crazy!
Perfect video 👊
Thank you !
👍
I listen to scary stories while road tripping
Just saw a report of a May 26 tornado that wreaked havoc with the festival. Hope you weren't affected.
audio books with some Tool when I get sleepy
I drank like 5 cups of Cafe Bustelo driving 17 hours from NC to Bentonville, AR 😂
Question. Does cooking that close to your bed not make the sheets smell of cooking/meat? I know you have the fan but my OCD wouldn’t allow me to do that I don’t think 😪
You didn’t bring your e-bike? That’s the only place I ride one so I can ride all day and if we go the wrong way on a trial the climbs don’t hurt as much. 😋
Do you loop the seatbelts thru the hand grab holes on the doors for extra security at night?
Drive for 9 hours and sleep for 3, repeat!
How do you like the Mercedes
What do you think about the trails in Bentonville? I've seen some videos where the YTers are careful in saying they're nice, but largely overrated (not very challenging/exciting, and geared more towards family riders with kids).
SNAKEEEEE!
I drove for 3 weeks (Toyota 4Runner) with the focus being the Bentonville Bike Fest. I mostly stayed in hotels. Brought the bikes in with me each night.
Road food SUCKS! Especially in the south. The south has great food, but most of it is fried! Tasty, but not healthy.
My standard MO is to find a town that has trails so that I can ride at my stops, and then look for hotels in those towns that are close to a Whole Foods, if one exists. Typically, Whole Foods will have an area where I can get healthy warm food that I can bring back with me. I edit videos while I eat. It's not a bad existence.
In a pinch, I'll get a rotisserie chicken and a little salad, not super healthy, but it gets the job done.
On the road, I am guilty of the occasional Mountain Dew when I am feeling a little bit deflated. But I have also discovered that it is important to eat healthy and not go hungry when driving for multiple days on end. Being low on food and energy is the best way to fall asleep at the wheel.
Looks like you were doing a pretty good job! Keep it up, this is great stuff!
❤
Tambien di a Madison te cuide y cuidala .y disfrute
Where can I get your water bottle!? 9:04
anyone know which brand glasses Heather is wearing?
Heather defiantly took a page from the Nikki vlogs on the thumbnails.
As an ironworker I travel a lot for work and I would love to make the ultimate mountain bike/work van. I'd be all over the country
It is the best 🚐
@@HeatherMunive keep living the good life
What helmet are you rocking?
Hermosa!!
Did you go to the Witching Hour burger truck across the street from Thai Kitchen? If not, go next time. Just maybe don't order the larger-sized burger like I did.
Whaduhek i wanna live somewhere that has bike trails on sidewalks
you're cool
🤙
Amiga li que si te digo .please cuidate donde andes y ballas y disfrutalo
💪🏆💪
😎👊
I would have to have a dog with me for company.
llego el steak 🤣
I am trying to learn Spanish. Any chance you could do another MTB video in Spanish?
I used to listen to music and podcast for the entire trip until that one time I tried putting on comedy shows...
why would anyone want to live in a van
I don’t know why you’re so surprised that there’s a cow in the wild. It’s an animal. That’s what they do. They live in the wild.
A little incongruous that it was in the pet area :)
Um, cows are not native to the Americas so a “cow in the wild” is either someone property and loose or feral.. So… surprising
