Love your excitement at seeing the Aurora. Make sure you carry your camera on tomorrow’s walk.
Cheers Legend!
Absolutely fantastic images. Looks like you have also captured the large and small Magellanic Clouds. Brilliant, well done sir!
Glad you enjoyed it
Your excitement at seeing an Aurora is exactly how I reacted the first time I saw one. I was buzzing for days. 😂
It was awesome mate.
Awesome! Hard to say what’s better - your pure excitement or the photos you made.
I was bloody happy about it for sure!
Its amazing everytime you see the auroras . Especially when you are living in a place where its rare 😍 good video 👍😃 thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you so much 😀
Pretty awesome when you finally see it! It was a big storm, lots of folks all over taking photos!
Heaps of pics from all over. It sure was a big one!
Wow Shayne! what an awesome shot! I cant believe you saw it with your naked eye! That would make anyone super excited.
I will admit though, when you said you usually would see these further south, i didnt expect you to say Bendigo haha I expected somewhere like Tassie hahaha
HAHAHA yeah I have shot it in Bendigo, but never with the naked eye.
Just like a kid turned loose in the candy store 😅 Glad you got the opportunity!
Me too mate.
Stunning
Thank you! Cheers!
Congratulations mate.
Fantastic capture on phone.
Finland skies were absolutely dancing last night with vivid colours
All over the world it seems mate
Bloody brilliant, mate! So happy for you!
I was so happy about it mate
How exciting for you - I'm so jealous!!! Best shot - the one with you in it!
I agree mate
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Congratulations from Michigan Aurora Chasers! Isn’t it amazing!!!
It sure is!
Once in a lifetime. Hopefully someday i will be able to see this too.
Congrats
Hopefully more than once in a lifetime!
Really badass! As a european I'm very jealous of the magellanic clouds you guys can see down south. On the topic of the Magellanic Clouds, do you think you could make a video of you capturing them with different phones?
Cheers mate. That has potential as a video.
@@ShayneMostynCheers!
That’s a pretty awesome capture.
Cheers mate, thanks for watching :)
We also have a yellow orangish glow here in India, we call it light pollution!
HAHAHAHA
Wow amazing photos... Saludos desde Costa Rica... Pura Vida!
Cheers mate, thanks for watching :)
Amazing 🌌
Cheers mate, thanks for watching :)
Exposure for aurora photography should be closer to 10 seconds and below if strong enough. You loose detail with longer exposures as the aurora is actively moving.
Great capture, Shane, I stayed in bed!
Cheers mate.
Amazing shots. It’s crazy what can be captured. And about the cold just do some jumping jacks while you wait for the photo. lol.
HAHAHA as if my neighbours didnt think I was crazy enough!
Now, you know how i felt, seeing the Aurora Borealis 😉
I do mate
Stunning thing to see, I've never seen it, to lazy to wake up early, you can certainly get a feel for your excitement buddy, we'll done 👌👍🏴
Thanks mate. Its very rare to get that up this far. I dont get out of bed specifically for it! :)
@@ShayneMostyn it's getting pretty regular thing in the UK now Facebook is full of it, but I'm to busy in the day, I'm to shattered to get up that recently 🤣
Oh man that's awesome, love the vids, can you do a challenge with a budget smartphone camera to take astrophotography phone to use galaxy a54
Send me one and I will do it mate. I pay for the phones I use here mate ;)
😍😍😍
😮
Will you be testing out the S24 Ultra for astrophotography? would love to see what you think, I'm deciding between the S24 Ultra and the Pixel 8 Pro for taking night shots including astrophotography.
No I wont be mate. Its just too much like the S23U for this channel. There is nothing new to learn for astro.
Tamitha Skov has a "Space weather" YT channel where she talks about the solar flares, whether they're going to hit earth, and the possibility of auroras given the solar activities. Given the Southern Hemisphere is generally closer to the sun in fall/winter because of Earth's tilt, you'd be more likely to get the better auroras this time of year. Highly recommend her channel, just 'cause it's interesting (at 40 degrees North, we barely ever get to see any portion of the Lights.)
Thanks mate, Im checking her channel out now.
@@ShayneMostyn And now I know why you sought me out. Very inspiring video. Loved your reaction to seeing aurora for the first time and your dedication to capturing them faithfully, despite freezing. Hopefully, now you can plan for them instead of being blindsided. Many more shows are to come over the next few years as we move through solar maximum!
@rrrosecarbinela Thanks for the referral!
@@TamithaSkov Thank you. Im enjoying your videos.
Congratulations. How cold was it?
Bloody cold!
Please show us a link to all your photos for samples
I dont post them all mate. There are plenty on the website though
I am jealous lol
HAHAHA I doubt you would get it at all where you are mate
How can I download these pics ?
I havent uploaded these ones. I will do in the next few days.
@@ShayneMostyn yes please 🙏
Was Sarah still sleeping?
HAHAHA of course!
