Bought a Forty Eight a few months back and I love it. I'm a taller guy and I like the forward controls.

Love it bro! I’m a 48 owner and have done everything on it myself so far. Very close to trading it in. Local dealer here has reached out to me and is offering 121% on sportster trade ins right now....that’s crazy and I want an M8 bad. but it’s my first Harley. Only had it a year, and like you said 35+ years in the evo....BULLETPROOF! “All good things in all good time” right, thank you Grateful Dead lol I may have two bikes by the end of 2021

good review! I had a taste of the 48 as well and I can't stop thinking about it (I am an 883 rider). The fwd control was so surprisingly comfortable

Sounds like Gerry would prefer the 1200 Custom, bigger tank, bigger engine, mid controls, higher bars, but with the same compact look of a 48 with the chunky front tyre! Unfortunately they don't make that one any more!

I agree I like the black fenders and maroon tank. Fun bike to own, new seat, Yaffee handle bars, Fun all day.

I still like the 883 iron more. Looks more badass imo. And the sportster platform is the only Harley that is really customizable.

You have the choice of looking at your knees or your shoulders in the mirrors. Suspension on my 883 was set almost as stiff as possible when I got it. A lot better set to my weight.

Not a huge Harley guy, own a Scout Rogue myself. But I test rode the Sportster 48 and a Fat Bob once. The M8 engine in the Fat Bob was good, but the bike handled like garbage and was trash for the amount of money they were asking. The Sportster 48 was actually pretty cool, liked it a lot but wasn't quite what I was looking for at the time.

I've got a 883 xl custom. I have had it for 10 years now and I put a 1200 xl custom in it a few years ago but then I got a flhtcui Harley Davidson ultra classic that was a 88 cubic inch motor in it when I bought it but I couldn't leave it alone and bought a 96 cubic inch motor and it was the best thing for me to do.

Hello, I hope you can help me. I have the 2019 48.. and I really want to do a front signal relocation.. but with the two bolts on the forks I’m not sure how I would go about moving the signals... any advice would be helpful. I haven’t seen any relocation videos for this model of 48 with the larger forks

I gotta agree totally with the price on a sportster! The same engine for 30+ years, there is absolutely nothing on them that is modern....nothing! Not one single thing about these bikes are leading edge or cutting edge or anything? It’s a slap in the face that they cost so damn much. It’s ridiculous! That said I currently own a 2020 iron 883 and am going to trade it in next week on the 2021 48 because I want the 1200cc and I want a Harley evo engine that rumbles and shakes at a stoplight and sounds like a real Harley! Plus they look freaking killer!! I cannot stomach the tank and the apes on the iron 12oo so that’s why I’m doing the 48. If I like the forwards? If not I’ll keep my 883 and just put a 1250 kit in it or something down the road. Just like the extra power and longer gearing of a 12oo.
Not a big fan of the M8 platform. Not opposed to, but not my preference.

I agree with you on 17:35 that the wind is going to be hard on on when you travel to speeds 65mph and higher. Because of that reason, I am not enjoying my 2020 Forty-Eight and Im beginning to think of trading it in for something else.

@@rolandjosef7961 bro you can customize Sportsters however you want them to be. Get a Fairing or windshield for it and you’ll be good for long hauls. Theres a lot more stuff you can add to make it a long distance bike. I am going to be doing this on my 48 since its going to be my main transportation

I traded my 48 after 1500 Miles, it’s not the wind it’s just unstable at highway speeds. Feels like you’re riding an invisible seam in the road. Loved everything about it except that. Got a new 883 and didn’t have that issue. Very disappointed at Harley for that
