    Man I've got the most respect for this kid, I know theres a lot of young guys out there identical to me who want this life so badly, I grew up racing go-carts on dirt ovals i wanted to race cup cars when I got older. I always looked at racing as a profession never as a hobby, after a few years of racing short track cars (open wheel modifieds, pro trucks, and late models) It was very hard to overlook the fact that all the extremely competitive drivers my age were either related to nascar legends or had millions of dollars to spend on there careers. Now I work in construction I'm putting my self through college and I feel so ordinary I hate seeing my old go-carts and race cars in my shop collecting dust covered in spider webs. some dreams die i guess. this kid is awesome tho amazing driver.

    • @topneorej
      @topneorej 8 лет назад +141

      +Union Jxck A lot of children of great drivers will be successful themselves, because they have the opportunity to start at a really young age. Max was 4 1/2 when he started driving a cart, and soon he owned his own cart. How many children are in the same situation? Maybe a few hundred world wide.
      Example: if Roger Federer got his first tennis experience at age 12, nobody would have heared of him. No matter how talented he is, he just wouldn't be able to beat the guys that started at 8 or earlier.
      It's that simple in sports.
      To stay at tennis: there are litteraly millions of boys that pick up a racket before they are 8 years old, and they can practice the sport for about $200 a year. Practicing carts costs about $60,000 a year.
      Conclusion: if you have the money, and are willing to invest that much in your son, there is a reasonable chance he will become a successful professional driver (educated guess: 1/100). In tennis maybe one in 100,000 boys will reach that goal.
      If anyone has a better theory, please post;-)

    • @riflemanalex3202
      @riflemanalex3202 8 лет назад +41

      You have to start young and be the best at the level your on consistently so people notice you, if you have family with a lot of money and even better family members who drove in f1 or worked in f1 its makes it whole lot easier for the right people to be noticing you e.g rosberg. Lewis Hamilton is the the exception though he has shown you dont need a family with a lot of money however his talent is very rare and his father made it his lifes mission to get lewis as far as he can in racing working numerous jobs all day every day just to get enough money to race and that allowed Lewis to get in the position where mclaren were interested in him at a young age. So the point is if you think you can get to highest level of motorsport through talent to get sponsors you have to be best every time, at the front every race otherwise people wont notice you, but also to be at the front every race doesn't just take talent and a level head it takes a lot of money to start with to ensure your kart is competitive to be able to compete at the front. Therefore to become a top driver in motorsport nowadays you have to 1. Start at a very young age 2. Have a lot of money to begin with to give you the chance to have a competitive kart 3. Have the talent and total commitment from not just yourself but others around you in your team 4. Be able to establish connections with the right important people in the industry early in your career.
